Hi, my name is Jenn, and this is my only FanFic on snitchseeker. I'll try and post as often as I can, but with school, and this year being grade 12, I make no promises. Let me know what you think, or what I can improve. I don't mind at all, I'd like to hear it.

Summary.

It takes place after DH about a month or so later. It starts of in Ginny's view but will change throughout the story. It's a story showing how the friends and family cope with all that they have lost. Ron and Hermione are in the story, but not really at the beginning. And eventually it will be a romance.

After All We've Been Through sa -13+

She supposed she should be thinking about going back to school to finish her education but with everything that happened recently, she could not bring herself to think about it. All she could think about was for the first time in months she was home surrounded by family. We all ought to be happy, she kept telling herself, always to be answered with the same retorting question murmuring how can we when he is dead.

Wishing she could go back in time, she got up off her bed, grabbed her wand and placed it in her pocket, and proceeded towards the door. Even the simple habit of carrying her wand brought questions to her mind; it was not as if she could use it. Still filled with questions, she headed downstairs, not caring how slowly she went. She felt empty. Like something had been snatched away from her. In reality that was exactly what happened. Reaching the sitting room, she saw the unchanging faces of her family telling her that they shared her grief for Fred and all those that had died.

Ron chose that moment to walk in hand in hand with Hermione, which, for a moment, caused the slightest smiles on the faces of the occupants of the room.

‘I’m leaving for a little while with Hermione,’ Ron said, causing his family to once again look up.

Mrs. Weasley immediately jumped up in shock. ‘What do you mean, going away?’

Ron, clearly expecting this, continued, ‘Hermione’s family is living in Australia under protective charms not knowing they have a daughter. Since the war is over I told Hermione I’d go with her to find them and lift the charm so she too can be reunited with her family.’

Ron’s words brought everyone out of their dull mood. Harry got up from the floor and went over to his two best friends. When he whispered something to them and Hermione shook her head, he gave them both a hug and wished them luck before retreating to his abandoned seat on the floor looking the same as before. After everyone else had wished the pair a safe journey, Mrs. Weasley giving them both rather large hugs, the pair retreated though the kitchen door leaving the room as if they had not entered at all.

Not wanting to sit with the saddened members of her family, Ginny went to the kitchen, helped herself to some crackers, and sat down at the table, tracing the lines and marking them with her wand. After sitting there in silence for a while, she thought she felt something on her foot, so moving her foot slightly to push whatever it was away she was greeted with the feeling as if her foot had been dumped in ice. Turning around, she came face to face with the ghost of Fred Weasley.

Ahhhhh! Fred! *tear* I love it, Jenn! This is a great start. You really know how to capture readers. Honestly, though, I can't wait for the romance part between Hermione/Ron and Harry/Ginny... if there is any. Hee hee. The scene is so sad, but I know it's supposed to be. But still... *sigh*

Now, well, I said that I wasn't going to post again till the weekend, but well, I got bored, so I wrote a bunch more. It's not really anything intersting, at least I don't think it is. It's just sorta information so well, you'll see.

Knowing not whether to scream or jump for joy Ginny stared at the appearance of her brother. Suddenly feeling an urge to slap him she was once again greeted with that unpleasant ice feeling.

‘Well that will teach you to hit me wont it?’ Fred joked.

Swelling up with anger Ginny mustered up the strength to peak at last, ‘If you came back, why didn’t you wait almost a month to come home?’

‘Oh the usual, helping Peeves around the castle,’ Fred replied.
That was enough for Ginny. Coming from Fred that was not only believable but also possible. Looking at Fred, who did not say a word just nodded and floated to behind the stairs, she called to George. Now, sadly, out of all the Weasleys the loss of Fred had understandably hit him harder then anyone. Slowly, without any eviction, George walked into the kitchen as if a robot had possessed him. Walking up to George, she gave him a big hug and nodded again to Fred while George could not see. Slowly releasing him, she turned him around and watched as her brothers’ face transformed into love and amazement.

‘FRED!’ He shouted and Ginny had to resist the temptation to bring her hands to her ears.

‘GEORGE!’ Shouted the identical voice.

Now the least that could be accepted was the scream of Mrs. Weasley, which was followed by the footsteps of the rest of the family and Harry. Their faces immediately wore the expression George had moments earlier. Mrs. Weasley, well, she broke into tears as she went to greet the ghost of her son.

Over the next week, the mood at The Burrow improved rapidly. Although having a ghost around did not replace Fred it mad up partially for the loss of a loved one. On the down side though my brother randomly pops into rooms from time to time making mom go back to her old habit of yelling at her children when they sneaked up on her. You can tell she loves it though because she is so much happier that Fred is around. Of everyone, though I think George is the happiest. The two sit up in their room discussing their store, which they are now making plans to reopen. They are both leaving tomorrow to go back to their apartment above the store. Ron was right; they are going to be the richest out of all of us.

Percy still has not moved home, mom and dad understand though. He is well off on his own. He is over for supper every night though. Though I partly think that is just because he is such a bad cook compared to mom. He changed a lot. He was already mature but it almost seems, if possible, as he has matured even more.

Bill has gone home with Fleur and they are expecting a child. I am looking forward to being an aunt. It feels weird at the same time because I am not even out of school yet. Charlie left this morning. With the war over he feels it is best if he returns back to work in Romania.

The saddest of all though has to be the plans Harry has. It is not really his plans that are sad it is the little I know about them. He took his apparition test at the beginning of this week. He has been offered a job at the ministry, this time not as a poster boy. I would have liked him to be the one to tell me this but sadly, I only know because he told the family over dinner. Same as I only know that he is going to Godrics Hollow tomorrow to build a house, and it will be on the lot next to his parents’ house. He does not tell me anything anymore and he hardly ever looks at me. If he does, he turns away as soon as I notice. The war is over, I thought he would want to get back together with me now that I am not ‘in harms way’ but he has not even hinted towards it. I wish I knew what he wanted. It is so confusing. I know how I feel about him and I thought he felt the same way about me. If he does, he has a weird way of showing it.

It is dark outside now and I have lost track of how long I have been sitting in my room. Normally it is not something I do, but with the house being so full again, it is nice to have a room to my self. I always enjoyed that growing up. It was one advantage of being the only girl in the family. Feeling tired I started getting ready for bed. When I finally got to bed, I was ready to fall asleep. The last thing I thought before my head hit my pillow was how much I missed having Harry just to talk to.
