We love to have competitions here at Malkins for signatures, avatars, blinkies, dolls, whatever! However, because so many similar contests have been spurting out, we have enforced a new rule. If you are starting up a competition please PM a Madam Malkin's Mod for approval. You will then, if approved, be prompted to post your competition in this thread. Members interested in the competitions should check this thread before creating and/or PMing for approval of a competition.

All competition makers must include the following in their posts:

Name of the compeition
LINK to the competition
Basic idea of what the competition is about
Rules of the competition

If all of the above is not in your post it will be deleted. All competitions that go inactive or end will be deleted from this thread also.

Due to the fact that challenge threads have been popping up like mushrooms, most of which are none HP related, or just like other challenge threads, the Madam Malkins team has decided to make ALL Challenge threads moderated.

If you wish to start a new challenge, post the rules here and wait for approval from a Malkins moderator. Should a new challenge be created before gaining approval, it will be closed and deleted.

I would like to create a new graphics design competition for the Robe's Display in Madame Maulkin's.

It's different from the others because:
* It's open to both Ministry and Hogwarts charries.
* It's fast paced running on a weekly schedule.
* It's a combo contest...you must make a siggy and avvie for each challenge.

Here's the breakdown/introduction of the competition.

Quick & Savvy is a new signature and avvie competition for anyone out there! Everyone has the opportunity to compete for first, second, and third place banners and braggin rights! These places will be determined by popular vote using a poll for each challenge. Charries, both Hogwarts and Ministry, can be nominated to be the focus and star of a challenge.

YAH YAH! But what makes this competition unique and eclectic?

1. You must create both a signature and avvie pair for each Charrie chosen for the challenge. So this means that the Charrie chosen will recieve a plethora of signatures and avvies that match that you can use for your charrie!!!!

2. Each challenge will have a one week window. The schedule will never change. On Sundays, the star of the challenge will be presented with background information to the designers. All signature and avvie combo entries will be due on Tuesday. The poll will go up on Wednesday and voting will end on Saturday. All place banners will be posted on Sunday, followed by the new challenge information. So pretty much this competition is Quick & Savvy. (There may be times during holiday seasons that the contest will take a week's break for everyone to celebrate)

* Siggie and Avvie Combo(s) Entries Due by Tuesday at 8:30 pm EST.
* Challenge Poll Voting Runs from Wednesday morning to Saturday at 8:30 pm EST.

* Signatures should be no larger than 450px in width and 200px in height.
* Signatures must be under 60kb in size.
* Avvies should be no large than 100px in width and 100px in height.
* Avvies must be under 20kb in size.
* Your Siggie and Avvie must be a combo entry. This means they must link in design in some way.
* All images should comply by SS rules.
* All images should fit the theme of the challenge.
* You can enter up to two siggies and avvies combos per round.
* No animated graphics, meaning nothing moving.
* Do not show your entries to anyone else until after the round winners have been announced.
* All signatures and avvie combos must be PMed to the round host.
* You must PM your entries to the round host by Tuesday night at 8:30 pm EST.

* Do not vote for your own siggie and avvie combo(s).
* You have until Friday at 8:30 pm EST to vote in each poll.

Hey everyone! It’s Ari and Amy again but this time we brought gummy bears! We are not going to have contests with gummy bears. We are going to pull out random stuff. So it could be anything. Movies, books, gummy, bears , etc. Me and Arianna are taking time hosting. It’s a siggy competition, no avvies or PPs.

How will it work??

10 Flavors - because there is no right way
Ideas should be clear and chocolate thick.

Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening (because there is no telling what time you have stopped by). I'm Katherine and this is my very first graphic contest. Before I get down to the rules and process of this competition, I have a confession: I love to cook. Now, perhaps some of you are the same, but no matter how many times to make something, you always find a new way to get to the finish process or something else you can add to make it even better. Graphics are the same. We may have the usual process that we use to go about making them, call it our signature, but there are so many different things we can do to create pretty things.

What does that mean for this competition? It means that with each challenge there will be a limitation set on what you, the lovely graphic maker, can do with your end product. This can be simple things like using the original image unresized to much more complicated things like mirroring the original image either horizontally or vertically. The possibilities are endless! For some challenges I will provide the image for you to use, others will give you a prompt (like cupcakes) and then it is up to you go to out and find an image.

So, here is how the cookie will crumble -gigglesnort-

I will start a new round each Sunday JST time
I'll think of a limitation and post it here either with an image or with a prompt.
You have three days to PM me your entries, anything afterwards will not be accepted unless otherwise stated.
I'll post the entries up Thursday morning JST time
I will leave the voting open until Saturday JST time
After the voting is closed, I will post the winners around 6 pm JST time
Rinse and repeat

You must submit a signature and a profile picture.
The signature cannot be over 450 pixels in width or 150 pixels in height.
The profile picture cannot be over 350 pixels in width or height.
All graphics must be under 60kb in size
All graphics must be SS appropriate.
All graphics should relate to the theme in some way. If not, I will notify you via a PM and if no changes are made your entry will not count.
You can enter up to two sets per round.
Do not show others your entries until the results of the competition have been posted.

It's A Totally Random Lucky-Dip

Hey y'all. I'm Christina but I'm known around here as Lily. It's A Totally Random Lucky-Dip is a competition like no other. The dude -or dudette- who nominates a person either nominates a romantic ship (an SSRPG couple), an enemy ship (SSRPG), a best friends ship (again SSRPG), a Ministry or Hogwarts character or even maybe Hermione Granger! They also pick out whether they want YOU to make an avatar, profile picture or signature. It's totally different every week.

I know, I know. No one likes 'em but we HAVE to follow them got it? Otherwise I'll tell a Mod.

Hello! This is Jessica (JeshieRAWR) and Jennifer (xiiWishiWasYours) bringing to you a graphics competition in honor of all the "losers" out there. Nominate your favorite "loser" in the SSRPG, whether it's your character's best friend or your character's worst enemy. Maybe it's even your own character! Let's face it, everyone puts down losers, but secretly they're just jealous of them!

Your objective is simple. Create a profile picture and a signature for the nominated character. Of course, you're going to need to follow all SS rules when making the graphics

A Harry Potter Graphics Challenge

Goblet of Icons is the longest running graphics challenge hosted on Snitchseeker. Initially started by iamoscar over six years ago, the challenge concept has undergone few changes, but the rules of the game remain the same.

The host (Nabs, cake.ninjak, or Lissy Longbottom) will post a challenge.

Anyone wishing to enter will send their icons to the person who posted the challenge. Rules for the icons are:
They must be 100x100 pixels in size

They must be under 20kbs in size

No animated icons unless stated otherwise.

You must not reveal your icon(s) to anybody. All icons must be anonymous.

You are allowed to enter up to two icons.

Occasionally, there will also be signature banner challenges, and the rules for the banners are 450x200px and under 60kbs.

The icons will be posted 2 days (48 hours) after the challenge was posted.

A poll will be posted with the numbers of the icons, and you may vote for your favourite icon(s) there. The rules of voting are:
You cannot vote for your own icon(s) (we will know if you do).

You vote for your THREE favourite icons.

You are allowed to vote for 2 days (48 hours) after the entries have been posted, and at the end of those 2 days, the host will post the list of the top 3 along with Winner Banners.

The winner of the previous challenge will also select an entry for the Winners' Choice award.

In the event of a tie, a new poll will be started with the icons that were tied and you may vote for only ONE day.

The winner with the most votes will PM the next challenge (theme or image) to ALL THREE hosts (Nabs, cake.ninjak, and Lissy Longbottom) within the next 3 days (72 hours).

The host will then post up the next challenge!

Gregarious Graphics for a Catchy Competition

Hey there! This is Alexandria (Rawr) with a brand new graphics competition.

This is a Harry potter themed competition, and the competition will also be a signature competition! I hope you all enjoy!
The objective is to create a signature with at least one of the three pictures provided of a character.

1) A new competition will be started every week to two weeks.
2) You will have five days to submit your entries.
3) Entries will be posted the evening of the fifth day or the day after.
4) The poll will open the same day and close 48 hours after.
5) In case the first paragraph was not read, this is indeed a Harry Potter themed signature competition.

1) Only signatures may be submitted.
2) You must use at least one of the three pictures given for you to use.
3) You may use all three of the pictures if you wish.
4) You may only use the pictures of the character that are given.
5) More pictures may be added, as long as they are not of the character.
6) The signature you submit cannot be over 450 pixels in width or 200 pixels in height.

All hail the return of the SS Index Challenge, version 3!

This competition is a stock icon challenge. All our challenges will feature Stock photography, which includes anything and everything... which isn't fashion, Harry Potter, anime, cartoons, Disney, fandoms, rock, celebrity and etc.

This challenge will be hosted by myself, InTheirBadnessReign. Otherwise known as Laura!

A stock icon is an icon that is made from a stock image. A stock image could be taken yourself, or found on a website.

There are many websites where you can get stock images, including Getty Images, SXC, Corbis, Veer, iStockPhoto, Flickr, etc.

- I will post an image or theme* and the challenge rules
- You PM me your entries (2 icons each) within the 48 hour time limit
- I will post the entries and a poll
- You vote for your favourite icons within the 48 hour time limit
- The winner is announced, banners are awarded and the next challenge begins!

- You are allowed to enter 2 icons
- The icons must be 100x100 and less than 20kbs
- This is a STILL icon challenge, so no animation
- The entries are ANONYMOUS; don't tell people which is yours or posting clues about your entries
- Do not vote for your own icons
- Do not tell your friends to vote for your icons
- Do not reveal your vote to others
- If you wish to wear any of the entries, wait until the end of the voting period when a list of entrants will be posted so you can credit the makers
- All images must comply with SS Board Rules

*stock image or theme refers to the challenge itself. Each week the challenge will alternate between a specific picture which entrants will have to use in their entries and a Theme (eg flowers, romance, furniture, feet, etc) where entrants may choose their own pictures to use.
