I was so glad that Helena got to be Bellatrix. I saw loads of her films before and I just love her and knew that she would be crazy perfect enough for playing Bellatrix. She fit in amazingly and she did a 100 star job!

Alright, clearly not enough people have seen/can see Sweeney Todd. Since Helena Bonham Carter is our resident psycho Death Eater, I think it's best we start with something everyone has seen her in and then we can move on.

Let's start with talking about her role in OotP!

You guys are going have to bare with me because I'm sort of... OCD when it comes to running fanclubs and keeping things in order. Now then...

Discuss Helena Bonham Carter's role in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
What did you think of her portrayl? Was there something missing? Was she perfect? Explain.

Er...right. I'm sort of OCD about it. I'll be keeping a log of discussions. I'm hoping that this club can get a forum as fast as possible! So I haven't actually seen OotP since seeing it opening night in the theatre, so I'll do my best to get a give a good review.

My thoughts on HBC's portrayl of Bellatrix Lestrange: As an actor, I can be extra critical when it comes to watching films, and when I see HP films, I criticise everything from how wrong it is when compared to the books, to how bad the acting is.

I was very impressed with HBC's portrayl of Bellatrix Lestrange. I think she really captured the essence of crazy that Bellatrix gives off.

Er... yeah. Sorry, I know that's lame. I haven't seen it in a while.

Yeah. I totally think that they could've used her more in OotP. I was impressed by how they did the whole Azkaban escape scene that was pretty much on her going crazy. It was awesome! She made me believe that she was the actual Bellatrix Lestrange herself.

That is very true. I wish she could have been seen more, but she wasn't in the fifth book that much, really. Hopefully she'll be in the sixth one a lot. And the seventh, even though I'll probably want to kill her because of what she does to Dobby.... -cries- I'm not thinking about that. I think I'll end up sitting in the theatre with my hands over my ears and eyes pretending it doesn't exist.

But Helena Bonham Carter really was a great Bellatrix. She's very versitille. I love how she transformed into Bellatrix and I loved her costume. I think she had the best costume ever.

I was impressed by how they did the whole Azkaban escape scene that was pretty much on her going crazy. It was awesome! She made me believe that she was the actual Bellatrix Lestrange herself.

I do have to give that scene props. It was very good. It gave us a chance to really see how crazy she was before the Department of Mystery scene. And especially since she wasn't in GoF.

There's not much to comment on her portrayal of Bellatrix. That's because she pretty much owned the character I can't think of anything that wasn't right, she IS Bella.

And who can ever forget that mad cackle of 'I killed Sirius Black... la la la'. Sent chills through my spine o.O

I cannot wait to see her in HBP.

I have to agree with you, Chris. She really played Bellatrix splendidly. I actually don't remember that part, but I try my best to block out the films once I've seen them because otherwise they disrupt my reading.

Discussion: Helena was absolutely perfect as Bellatrix, no one could have played the part any better than her. The way she looked, I knew she was Bella from the beginning, and then when she sang that little "I killed Sirius" song, if that didn't convince a person, nothing would. Absolutely perfect.
