There were werewolves around before Greyback and maybe he was accidentally bitten by one of them? Or his animagus form may have been werewolf but he could only transform on a full moon and learnt to transform at other times?

I doubt he was born a wherewolf. He was probably bitten as a kid (like lupin) and he just doesn't know who it was. Or maybe he does and he had him/her killed. it's an interesting theory.

That is a really good question? I always wondered that myself. If he was bitten then who bit him. Or was he born a werewolf.

I think Greyback was bitten as a child, and didn't know who his maker was. And when he turned to the life of a werewolf, he found he liked it so much that he started behaving as you'd expect a werewolf to behave.

I cant remember which book, but he said "You have to bite kids and then raise them as a real werewolf, washing their brains." Also I suppose they taste better.

i think greyback was bitten like lupin when he was a boy but unlike lupin he thought that everyone should be a werewolf too because he had to be a werewolf so he tryes to bite everyone andd is on the dark side.

Greyback was probably bitten by someone older. Maybe he was bitten as a child and that is why he bites children so often. Maybe he's bitter about the whole thing and has gone all manical about it.... IDK just a thought

yes because lupin was afraid that teddy was going to be a werewolf because it has lupin's DNA.

He couldn't be sure though, as it was very uncommon, that werewolves had children.

Maybe Greyback was raised by werewolves. By that I mean two people who were werewolves raised him, not he was raised in like a pack of wolves. Maybe the greyback name is a legacy of feared werewolves, and greyback had trained his whole life to be as feared a werewolf as his father.

I think Greyback's dad was a werewolf and when Fenrir Greyback was born he had his dad's disease.

Lupin is petrified that Tonks is pregnant because of his condition, so it is hereditary. I believe Fenrir was always a werewolf and attacks children to condition them against humans.

2: born one

He was definitely either born one, or he was made one, but I think because of the way he likes to bite children, he was probably born one. For one thing, if he was born a Werewolf, he wouldn't have had the chance at a normal childhood. It would have been pretty much plagued with A) no friends, B) Perhaps neglect or his parents horrified by him/hating him C) Would therefore, in an act of revenge and bitterness, want other children to suffer like he had. Greyback obviously loves biting the children, so there's always the possibility he was bitten, but it seems a little more.. deep from what he does that I assume he was born one.

I guess he was just bitten by another werewolf, I think it would have been when he was quite young because he seemed to embrace his werewolf-ism proudly, like Percy when he became Head Boy. This is like a whole other Violence is never the answer, unless the question what is never the answer? But if you answered volience you would be wrong because volience is never the answer :/

I think he was born one.. I feel like getting bit by a werewolf is a very traumatizing situation, and that it would have made him hate werewolves for the pain it caused him. If he was born one, he didn't have to go through the pain of being bitten, and he would be used to being a werewolf since it was in his everyday life.
Just my two cents.

I have a feeling he was born one, why? Look at Lupin, he hates being a werewolf and always cares about other people when he's not transformed. However, Greyback, has the sense of being a werewolf. He bites people when he isn't transformed.
