In the 3rd book at the end Dumbledore and Harry have a convorsation after Harry saved Pettigrew's life. Dumbledores says:

"Pettigrew owes his life to you You have sent Voldermort a deputy who is in your debt. When one wizard saves another wizards life it creates a certain bond between them... and i'm much mistaken if Voldermort wants his servant in the debt of Harry Potter...This is magic at its deepest its most impenetrable, Harry. But trust me.. the time may come when you will be very glad you saved Pettigrew's life."

What do you think the significance is of this quote and do you think it will play a role in the 7th book?? I just read it and it seems important what do you guys think??Do you think that Pettigrew will save Harry's life?

I finished the 3rd and now im on the fourth and at the beginning of the book in the first chapter when Voldermort and Wormtail are in the Riddle house Pettigrew says: "It could be done without Harry Potter, my lord" "My Lord, I do not say this out of concern for the boy, The boy is nothing to me, nothing at all! Although he then says "laying hands on Harry Potter would be so difficult, he is so well protected -" now is he refering to by people which is true or also by magic like from saving Pettigrews life and he's protected because his mother saved his life.. what do you think?

That actually is a really good theory i wonder if something will pop up in the 7th book.

I think it will come up in book 7 and maybe Peter will save Harry's life

o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o, i think that during that scene, Pettigrew was trying to protect Harry, because of his debt. And covered by saying that he doesn't care for Harry. And I do think that this will play a hge part in the 7th book.

Dumbledore describes this as ancient magic that forms a bond between the two. A life debt is a cultural phenomenon in which someone whose life is saved or spared by another becomes indebted or in some way connected to their savior. A life debt sometimes involves servitude, possibly until the indebted can return the favor. It may involve some spiritual or mystical connection between the two.

I wonder what happens if the person chooses not to repay the debt?

Wormtail broke the secert-keeping bond without much of a direct punishment. He chose to live in hiding as a rat - that wasn't forced upon him.

Creating the sceret-keeper charm is complex and similar to an unbreakable bond charm. It enables secret information to be hidden within the soul of the recipient, known as a Secret-Keeper. The information is then irretrievable until and unless the Secret-Keeper chooses to reveal it; not even those who have the secret revealed to them can reveal it to others.

What happens if it is revealed? Wormtail did reveal the information to Voldemort. He betrayed the Potters to Voldemort in order to gain the Dark Lord's favour. Their has to be a consiquence if the person breaks the charm or what would cause them to keep it a secret?

I think Peter will save Harry in the 7th book, as a way to pay off what he did to Lily and James, although he can never truly be forgiven, this is a step to becoming good...
