The thing is, our RPs are taking place many years after the Potter books, so chances are that the Order of the Phoenix has disbanded. You're free to RP in both roleplays, once sorted and assigned to a department, with separate characters.

I don't think the Additional Information section is in a very logical order. (You've added quite a few new fields, that's a good thing, but it makes everything look chaotic.) How about organising this in sub folders?

I haven't really put too much thought into this idea but I think it would be good for SS.

Why doesn’t someone create an application of SS that can be used on the iPhone or other smart phones (preferably the iphone hehe).

I wouldn't mind spending .99$ on an app that allows me to post or check my private messages from my phone. I'm not around my computer 24/7 so being able to check in with the site via my phone would be really cool.

Also the profit made from the app could really help the site.

I have a game suggestion for the end of the year.

the game can be called "2009 HP facts." and what you do is say a fact about harry potter and when you reach a 2 you say either "HAPPY NEW YEAR" or "GOODBYE 2009," or whatever you'd like, then the next number would be 10 cause it has a zero then 20 cause it has a zero then 29 cause it has a nine.. just like Harry potter is my man! except it will be slightly more challenging due to the fact that you have to remember what number comes next. if you see anyone posting a fact In a 2 0 or 9 then they can be eliminated from the game and whom ever stays when you reach 2009 posts wins! =) lol.

I think it would be fun and I've spoke to a few of my friends and they thought so too.

What if we could have skins for ALL the houses? We could even challenge members to code their own skins and select the favorites (I'm not really sure how coding works XD) but you know what I mean right? Yeah? Yeah?

Ok.... so I just had this idea. I've seen that you guys have been arranging contests pretty much every month an' you had the golden goblin awards a while back. Well a lot of other ff sites have 'romance fic' awards...... awards where the categories are lyk 'best dramione' or 'best plot' or 'most romantic line' an' it would be cool if SS could have somethin' lyk that too. *poofs out*

How about adding a thread called "What did you not like about Harry Potter?" to Platform 9 3/4? I think it would be a good question for newbies like myself to get our feet wet.

Heres a few things I thought of:

You could make a place to advertise MM shops.

You could have a place to advertise fanfics.

I was just looking through the site today and came across the Snitchseeker Weekly Podcast Forum.

I was just thinking and wondering, would it be possible to reopen it and begin making more podcasts. I was wondering because we did recently begin Potterwatch again.

In these new Podcast we could have the 'reporters' talk about things such as SS News, HP Movie News, WB HP theme park news, birthdays and the sort. Someone else could talk about The School RPG gossip and happenings. Maybe someone else could do a every other week report on the Ministry aswell. Anther person could talk about contests and events in the Fan Clubs to help get more active members in there, and another person could do a Fan Fiction reading.

Just some ideas, people can add their own ideas too!

Im sure we can find plenty of people interested in helping with this along with myself!!!

I have a suggestion! I think we should add a status feature :-) Because who doesn't love posting and read people's status? I mean, really.

P.S. I second the idea of the person who said someone should make an app for SS. I have a BlackBerry and the site is next to impossible to navigate with just the web browser on my phone. I think an app is a great idea! And so is being able to post statuses!

Okay... so, I came up with another rationale for my status feature suggestion. (I would just edit the post, but I didn't know if it had already been read or not.)

In the School RPG, people are always putting things in reply titles like, "Time for bed!" or "Be back later!" or "Sorry I disappeared!" If there was a status feature, people would not need to post such things in the titles of replies. They could just post it as their status. The end. :-) Thanks for taking our suggestions!

I have a suggestion for the role play. It has come to other's attention that some role players don't know they aren't playing in JKRowling's time of Harry Potter. And hence make a character history with them knowing some of the characters or are of some relation to them. Like...first cousins xD.

SOoOOo, in my opinion along with the "Congratulations you made Ravenclaw!" And while the person is either celebrating or cussing the fact they made the house of their choice or not...it is slipped into their letter..."It is HIGHLY suggested you read our Hogwarts, A History ala SS."

Because I know it is mentioned and several links are provided, but people don't seem to know the importance of reading the terms history. I for one, enjoy it and keep going back to make sure I got my facts straight.

So ta-dah end of suggestion. Hope the admins take it into consideration. ^^

This totally just popped into my head just now.
How about a personals thread. Now, I've seen things like this on other websites/forums and it works a beaut, and this is how it goes.
Basically, it's a whole area where people can post threads about their character, what they're like, and stuff like that and other people can reply suggesting plot ideas so they can RP with each other. I really think that this could help with making the RP board a little more active for those who are new to SS because I've seen that most of the RP mini-plots are made up in The TP, or the Shh as it's now called but there's a lot of members who don't frequent that area of the forum so aren't able to get involved with people who they haven't RPed before with.

i was wondering if it would be possible to have an SS skin that is predominantly if not totally dark? its for some of us who are unable to endure reading and writing on white/ bright pages. i know that the Death Eaters theme would probably be the closest to what SS has to a dark skin but there are quite a bit of bright/ white areas that still make it unbearable over prolonged periods (to mine poor eyes anyway ). i took some screenshots and tweaked things a bit to show what would be an ideal dark skin:

I remember that there used to be a forum here where people could advertise and find ways to improve their own sites. I believe this forum was called Aragog's Web, but I could be wrong about that (it has been a while ). I think that it would be a great idea if that forum was brought back to SS.

As a person who has made a few websites in the past, I would love to be able to post about my site on SS rather than just leaving a link in my signature. I know that certain sites such as Facebook and MySpace were advertised in the past, but that could easily be eliminated to keep the member privacy policy going. Ultimately, the forum would be used to advertise SS-appropriate sites (both RP and non-RP), get constructive feedback from the members here, and discover new ways to make our own sites even better.

I really like the application and status idea! Definetely great, great ideas!

Id also like to suggest that Division heads have a usergroup colourr AND that instead of just the level that ministry characters have, that we ALSO have which section their from. This helps the division and department heads figure out whos who, because it can get VERY confusing.

And one more thing () What about a St. Mungos RPG? Just like the Ministry, we could have the hospital.

I wouldn't change the text so much as you have because it makes it very hard to read with so little contrast. Otherwise I think your suggestions are good.

We are in the middle of a major makeover right now so it will have to wait until that is finished. But then we will need a dark skin so I will keep your suggestions in mind.

I love writing, but I find it quite hard to write up a FF when all the characters and sets have already been created, aka Harry potter world. I would like to post up my own FF, but it has NO HP content in it. I also see it as another way for us SS writers to improve our style of writing both through HP and NON HP writing. It's just a thought I wish , the moderators will think about.

Those coloured thread categories a r e helpful, but is it really necessary to use bright colours like this? "Similar" colours would work as well.
Start Here in red, ok, makes sense, but the column of Requests at MM's hurts my eyes.
Even worse, this kind of pop-up ads aesthetics makes the site look cheap.

There are ideas in the air right now regarding something like what you've addressed, but that's all they are. Keep your eyes peeled in the future!
The biggest reason we don't have colours for each divisions is that it would become a rainbow. We've already got a bunch of colours, and having more colours would probably confuse more.

As for a St. Mungos RP: the roleplaying staff are always working to enhance your RP experience. In fact, they've recently just opened up a brand new humongous Diagon Alley RP. Check It Out!

BUT since we have VMs now and they are the generally accepted way of communicating, and I (like a bunch of people I know) am a fan of as few clicks as possible, I was wondering if its possible that we could have 'leave a visitor message' or even 'view your conversation with this member' as part of the drop down that comes up when you hover over the username in the post bit right there in a thread.

Actually the second, going straight to the conversation would be the most awesome, but I'm not sure that would be possible since it'd involve different links right? *not technical*

But yep. If that could happen, a VM linky thing, it'd be cool. Maaaaybe in the future. *winks* Aye? Aye?
