...
Lily closed her potion book, lifted herself up and began walking towards the castle. She looked around and saw that James was watching her, as usual... Ignoring him as she always did, she made her way towards the Gryffindor Common Room.
James face forrowed instantly, without realising it he found himself chasing her. He ran towards the Gryffindor Common Room and burst in finding Lily sitting by the fireplace gazing the flames. "Lily I would like to have a moment with you," he blurted out as he gasped for air.
Lily stared questioningly at James and then said, 'If you're going to ask me out again then forget about it" she said.
"Erm" James sighed, "I was actually going to ask you if I could take you out," he replied arrogantly pointing his index finger in defence, "and that is different!".
Lily took a deep breath, rolled her eyes and ignored him. James scratched his head, then clutched her arm, saying, "C'mon Evans. Lily. Gimme a chance."
Lily glared angrily at him, almost shouting, "Get away from me, Potter." James backed away as Lily spoke, but stood his ground, which made Lily say, "I said get away from me."
James raised his eyebrows and said coolly, "And why should I?"
"Because I told you to! Why can't you just leave me alone already!?" Lily's eyes narrowed as she looked straight into his arrogant ones. James sighed, crossed his arms and began pacing around around her.
Lily watched him wearily. "What, in Merlin's name, are you doing that for?!"
"If you go out with me for two weeks and get to know me and still want to have nothing to do with me I will leave you alone but you have to actually give me this chance."
"Yeah?" Lily said, her green eyes challenging him with a piercing glare. "How do I know that you'll keep your word?"
James sighed and said, "Evans, this is you we're talking about, how could I double-cross you?"
Lily sighed and said "I'm sorry but I don't like you James, if you give me a break, that's for a start!"
James raised an eyebrow and said, "Yeah, like you would go out with me if I gave you a break."
Lily shot James a frightful glare then shifted her gaze towards the fire ignoring him completely. James sighed, walked up and sat next to Lily smiling at her sheepishly, "You know your cute when your angry" he said coolly.
Lily looked up at him with a pretended smile, that was clearly dripping with fury, then said coldly, "You know what Potter - You aren't cute EVER."
James couldn't help but smile sheepishly at her as he replied "see you fail to see, that its about you and not me."
"POTTER," Lily shouted, stomping her foot in frustration, losing her balance - and accidentally falling right into his arm, much to James' delight. Lily quickly scrambled up to hear James say "You know you want to Lily!"
James and Lily were so close all she had to do was move a little closer and they would be kissing but James left it up to her. Lily looked up into his eyes, an action that confused her. A small smile threatened to spread across her face, yet her lovely, emerald, green eyes were furious. She turned a deep level of crimson, but still stayed in the same spot, she couldn't move, she couldn't talk anymore.
James continued to look into her eyes admiring her beauty, lost as words failed him. All of a sudden Lily knew what was going to happen, she wobbled forward a little...And then she pulled away, saying, "What exactly do you think you're doing, Potter?" and ran back to her dormitory, highly confused at what had just taken place.
James began blinking hysterically about what just happened, he couldn't help but think did Lily just became more lenient towards himself? Does she like me after all? I knew she would! as he stared into the fire.
Inside her dormitory, staring into nothingness, Lily Evans wondered the very same. She sat there for nearly 5 minutes, in a very drowsy, but serious mood and then she put on her pyjamas and decided to go to sleep. Lily found that sleeping did not do much good, for she found herself dreaming about James, and when James leaned forward, she did not run this time, but kissed him passionately. She woke up in a cold sweat, cursing her dreams. Determined she wouldn't be able to sleep, she propped open her potions book and began preparing for the next day's lesson.
Lily finally went to bed at 4:00am in the morning and slept in until 8:00, dreading that day. She walked out of her dormitory, right into - James Potter - Great, Just great.
"Lily! I've been looking all over for you," he said, his eyes looked tired and worried.
Lily rolled her eyes and spoke through gritted teeth, "What is it this time James?. I need to catch my class on time!"
"Well, erm I just wanted to, er say Good morning" he said, smiling meekly and blushing deeply.
Lily rolled her eyes, "Yeah, whatever," she said and she went on her way.
"Wait!" James yelled, running after her. "There's something I want to ask you." When she didn't turn around, he added: "Something important!" "He blushed lightly, "I had a dream about you last night I snuck in your dorm and we kissed."
"So?" she said feeling a bit weird he handed her the potions lesson that she had been working on the night before...
James raised his eyebrows and said, "Lily Evans, what do you mean??? So, we're destined to be together, according to Divination or dream interpretation or whatever."
"I think that we need to sit down," Lily said, "and talk about this." She said staring down at the offensive paper in her hand.
"Really! You're going to take me up on that offer for a date!" James' face was ecstatic, he could hardly sit still.
Lily sighed at James and surpressed the smallest of smiles, "Well I don't know about destined but, umm... well maybe it would be nice to start, but you will not win me over with your silly little immature games James!"
"Oh, those are all definately designated into the 'past events' category," James said. "I have found something more important to occupy my time now."
"Such as?" Lily asked, eyebrows raised.
However James' answer of "You, of course," didn't help improve matters.
"Oh, well just dont say it's with me, OK!?!" and Lily stormed off.
James scratched his head and stared after her, muttering, "Tch. Girls." But Lily wondered if, she, after all, was being too hard on him and playing a part in his immaturity.
James chuckled inwardly as he saw her mixed emotion that masked on her face. James smirked and said "That expression'd be changing soon" and he went over to talk to Sirius.
Lily studied his comment before seating herself at a table near by checking her homework before class, wondering what he meant by soon? Lily caught his eye as she left and quickly looked away. She blushed and she saw james was staring right at her.
Sirius rolled his eyes at james, "Will you grow up, so did you ask her out?" asked Sirius curiously wondering if his friend successfully was able to pin her down.
"I will" James blushed "I just dont know when is right!!" he blazed.
Sirius frowned, shrugging - How was he supposed to answer that, he thought to himself, when he had never asked a single girl out in his entire life - They were always stalking him like mad, no need for him to ask them - was there?
"Hey, mate just, do it, ok!!" Sirius blazed red "She's sick of you stalking her, just ask her out and then there'll be no need to be following her around all the time trying to grab attention!!" Sirius looked different, as if he was a differnet person...
James looked up at him, "Yeah, yeah, whatever," he said, shrugging and biting his lip.
Sirius smacked James on the head when he was looking away, "Quite being stubborn mate, and go do it" he hissed at his best mate.
James shrugged, "fine, whatever" he sighed and rolled his eyes, "She's just go'nta say no!" James blazed.
"Well, then grow up and be a mature git, instead of being an immature git," Sirius said mischievously, ruffling James' hair with his hand.
James had to laugh, "Whatever," he said, laughing. "I'll do it, mate," he said to Sirius, still grinning. James stood there for a moment and ran his fingers through his hair as he walked over to ask his Lily a little question with a smile on his face.
"Lily," he said quietly, walking out of the common room and spotting her; he took her hands in his own and said, "I know I can be a bit of a git at times - But please give me one chance - Will you go out with me? Just this once? Please?" he pleaded and, it was visible from the look on Lily's face, that she couldn't believe he was actually being mature, for once.
She hesitated for a moment, as if unsure how to react - After all, he was being more than just nice; "You won't bother me after that, Pott-James, if I do say yes?" she asked quietly.A small smile threatened to break out across James' lovely face - Was she really just about to say yes? Lily sighed and nodded, "Fine, James," she said wearily, "I'll go out with you - Just this once, mind you - and then we're done, once and for all - Okay?"
James beamed at her and said, "Sure," inwardly thinking that she would be too lucky to get him to stop stalking her, even after they had gone out a dozen times, but careful not to say this out loud. Lily raised an eyebrow at him, not sure herself of what to say next, instead she eyed him a bit suspiciously, seeing as he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
"Well then, I'll see you in The Three Broomsticks tomorrow, Pott - James," she said, walking away, making a mental note to stop calling him Potter - Until she was done with him tomorrow, at least.

"Oh God, you think I look okay, Padfoot?" James asked tentatively the next day, staring at his appearance in the mirror in front of him. James was terribly nervous.
"You look fine mate" Sirius said. "Oh, I do not, my hair is sticking out again, these clothes are old fashioned!" James exclaimed.
"You'll do fine, just relax," Sirius comforted him soothingly, trying his best not to laugh at James' condition.
"And dont laugh padfoot!" James blazed, he went to fix up his hair, and have one final change of clothes. Finally, feeling that he looked acceptable, he left the dormitory, heading over to the common room to find Lily.
Seeing that Lily was nowhere to be found he plopped himself into a couch and rehearsed his lines mumbling. She appeared, however, that very moment, dressed in a silky dress of pure turquoise and people gawked at her as she came up to him. James tried not to gasp as he saw her; she looked even prettier than usual, "Um, you look really great," he managed to say.
Lily smiled - She knew she did, "Thanks," she said brightly. He took her arm and they both left the common room, James watching Lily, slightly open-mouthed.
"So, what have you been doing?" James asked, trying to start a conversation but Lily merely shrugged as they reached the foot of the stairs. They reached Hogsmeade and turned into the street, James still staring at Lily as if he had never before in his whole life seen anything so awe-inspiring.
"Studying" she said briskly, "there's a thing called tests you know" she laughed.
James smiled and muttered, "I never do," under his beath, unfortunately Lily heard him and rolled her eyes. "What, I dont have time for it, I have much more important things to do" James said, staring into Lily's eyes. He brushed the hair away from her cheeks and kept looking at her.
I'll start from there:
At the time, something just seemed to click in Lily's mind, and she slowly moved away from James with a smile.
