I think I have posted in here, but I now think it could be a possiblilty that he is the Minister for Magic!

People keep mentioning this "lion type character". When did Jo ever make mention of it before? If it was in the books, I must have missed it.

And I do recall reading on her site a while back that no new characters will be introduced, so I don't think, whatever it is, that it's the new DADA teacher.

It almost sounds Latin though, by the looks of it. So perhaps a new spell, or something along the lines of Priori Incantatem (sorry, I know it's spelled very poorly, but you know what I mean)...

The "lion type character" comes from an extract of HBP that J.K let us see on her site. You had to open the secret door.

I don't really believe that no new characters will be introduced. That ishighly improbable in my opinion. It would make the book far less interesting if it were all the same characters again.

As Jonnyd8819 proposed, he could be related to Crookshanks, but I don't believe Crookshanks is an animagus, it would be too repetitive, with Sirius and the Marauders and Peter Pettigrew and Rita Skeeter being unregistered animagus and all. I don't think J.K will use that animagus line again.

I can only take a guess that it is the new DADA teacher, but I have no idea whatsoever of who it could be.

It was a while ago, she opened the secret door on her website and we could read a couple of sentences from HBP. It was a description of a character that looked like a lion or something. I think you could find the exact description somewhere on the internet.

well, felix felicis does sound like a cat, a lion is a cat, or feline, feline - felicis... I don't think felix is the lion-type character but I don't see a lion-type character being the DADA teacher either. Felix Felices may just be some random character? I was thinking a reporter-type of character like rita skeeter only not.

I think it's either that lion character JK described or the new DADA teacher. i picked the lion one though.

Well, with all the cat connotations with the name Felix, I think it is the lion like man, who I also think will be the new DADA professor. However with JK we never know until we see it printed, so I could be way off the mark. Oh well, only another 190 days,22 hours and 20 minutes to go.........

I think either the minister of magic or the DADA professor and i think that one of them is the lion character described. Felix means lucky (appropriate for a Defense specialist, no?) and is commonly used for cats.

Well, I didnt think it was a any of the above because JKRowling said that she would not introduce any new characters because its too late in the books. And if it was anything, it would either be the tiger thing or the spell or charm. Just my opinion.

idk, i thought it might be a spell too, but it could also be a creature hagrid makes the class face. idk..we'll have to wait and see

I think felix felicios(or wat ever his name is) is the new DADA teacher cause Jo every year there is a new teacher. There is also a chapter about him and remember in GoF their was a chapter called Mad - eye moody so i think felix is the DADA teacher

I think he can be the new minister of magic...but then again it could be the lion thing but i wasn't really sure about that...so I went with my first instinct and shows the new minister one.

i went with the dada prof because that seems to be the main topic of discuss before each new year, ya know "whos the new dada teacher" it just makes a little more sence then bringing in a totally unheard of character to take the place as minister i think if there is going to be a new one, which i doubt, it will be a character we already have heard of

I think he is definetly the "lion-type" character because Felix Felicis is feline-related and JKR tends to give the characters names according to thier personality/ appearance. BUT!!!- I also believe that this man IS the new DADA teacher so if i could have picked both the 1st and 2nd choice, i would have!
