At the recent BAFTA awards in London, J.K. Rowling said she's working on several writing projects. What book do you think Jo is most likely to publish next?

I like Mystery novels. So I hope a Mystery novel. One with witches it in would be really cool.

I'd have to say she's writing another companion piece.
She wont fully "end" the Harry Potter series. She'll keep it alive with those little companion books.

OR maybe she's writing a short story book in the eyes of one of the characters..
Like a book in Nevils eyes, or George or Fred, or Deans.

I think if she wrote a book that acted as what Ginny was writting in Tom Riddles diary that it would be a hit. I'd totally buy it and read it.

I think she should make a harry potter 8 which shows when he turns 18 and 19 and the dudleys again.

i think J.K rowling would write a book about the maurders and their story since she didn't fully explain their history

or harry/ron and hermione's life after hogwarts could be a possibilty too *shrugs*
but a mystery novel would be cool to read! i would love to get it :]

I voted for an encyclopedia because there's so many things yet to discover within the Harry Potter world and questions left unanswered. As much as I wNted to vote for HP 8, I couldn't :/
Either way, if she wrote a non-Harry Potter book, I would still buy it. And so will everyone else.

I hope she writes the encyclopedia or an HP related book, because as much as I'd want her to write another Harry Potter book I don't think she will.. D:
Whatever it is I'm definitely reading it, she wrote it so it has to be great.

A book about the Marauders would be great, Sirius & James would be hilarious haha.

I think it will be something different than potter. She won't keep churning out HP stuff forever, I know she's going to want to be known as a flexible author.

I cant see her doing anymore HP , there is such a thing as overdoing something.

I would love for her to write prequel books to Harry Potter. Kind of like the Star Wars Saga. I would love to see James, Lily, Sirius, Lupin, and Snape during their years at Hogwarts. Then the story can end when the first war begins.

I think maybe she should write more of the Hogwarts school books like Quidditch through the ages and the one about beasts that made me laugh.

Speaking of HP 8, my math teacher thinks it's going to come out and so he said he was going to write the 9th Harry Potter "Harry Potter and the Slope Dungeon"(it was in math class). Just thought I'd share that

I do think she'll write more HP companions, possibly prequels, but I don't think she'll do it in the next couple years; she's said she needs a break. But whatever she writes, I'm reading it!!!!

I bet its an encyclopedia. An 8th Harry Potter is cool. What would it be about though? Not about their kids, if its called 'harry potter' something. I doubt she will. I'm excited for an encyclopedia!

Well she's already stated numerous times that she's writing something NOW. And I'm pretty sure she said she was going to do an encyclopedia, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be her next book.

When she was interviewed by Oprah, she was asked if there will be any more Harry Potter books. And she shook her head and said "I'm not going to say I won't. I don't think I will ... I feel I am done, but you never know." So...it's up in the air, I guess.

I hope she makes an encyclopedia. That way, all the little facts that fanfiction sites consider "canon", will actually be in a book and not scattered all over the web. Any other stories that take place in Harry's world would be great.

I thought she'd want to publish something OUTSIDE Potter. She's an amazing author I'll buy anything she'll write because it's because of her I love to read!

While I agree with FreeDobby and it'd be super cool for her to publish something not in the Harry Potter universe, I kinda want an encyclopaedia. There definitely were some things that confused me throughout the books, and there are definitely some rumours about the characters and side stories she could incorporate into it.

Yeah and in the same interview didn't she say she wanted to write Murder Mystery novels? And we all know she would do an epically amazing job at this.

I know that she was quoted saying that she would write an encyclopedia...but that was back in 2009 when she said it.

Last I heard was that she was writing family trees for some of her characters...

I'd love for there to be one soon...but I am not sure I want her to continue with the HP saga and write more books with the characters. then again, I REALLY did not like the epilogue and thought that Harry should have died in the final book

a companion book would be fun though
