Jaslene Wyant | I enjoyed it. It wasn't like the others but it was stunning like the others. I almost cried when...Sirius...died. That was so sad. I knew it was coming because I read the book but still it was sad. I thought Voltimort should have looked a little more scary but in all it was a fabulous movie.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Elizabeth Way | I liked the movie. Sure they cut out a lot but everyone should understand they had to and the movie was still pretty long. I think Daniel's acting was brilliant when he had to portray Harry's changing emotions. The only thing I didn't like was that Draco was in it only 13 times Yes I counted. So? |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alex (Lex) Deven Fifth | I rated it as awful. Wait, before you gasp in horror, hear me out first! Here are my reasons:
A) it was all wrong, nothing went according to the book.
B) Hardly any humour, GOF had more humour that was actually in the book, not made up by the film people.
c) It was always dull and miserable and it was CONSTANTLY RAINING! I mean, we got the point, the weather was bad, its England, its always like that.
D) The ending was horrible, what on earth was he on about?
E) You hardly got to see Harry's parents when they were young, that lasted like 4 seconds and I couldn't even spot Harry's mother.
F) I did not like Daniel Radcliffe's acting, you'd think after that many years of playing the same character would make you better at acting but apparently this is not true. Like that bit when he first entered the headquarters, he was meant to shout his lungs out, so what on earth was he doing in the movie?!
G) They spent most of the film time on the most pointless stuff, not even in or relevant to the book i.e. the scenery
H) Some things were so wrong that I can't even express how wrong it was like the whole Cho Chang telling Umbridge thing etc.
I) Wasn't that talk between Dumbledore and Harry a bit to short? I mean it lasted basically a whole chapter in the book.
J) I am annoyed that the same director is doing the next movie, i won't keep my hopes up for the next one I'm guessing...
K) It is definietely marked as one of them films that I will not see again. It's a one-timer. If I watched it again I will fall asleep, I can probably promise you that. This is how much I disliked it.
L) They could have done a MUCH better job with it, I mean that newspaper part? Who were they kidding? It was so weird! Half of the headlines weren't even relevant!
M) The department of Mysteries should have looked a lot cooler, there were meant to be loads of cool rooms etc. the least they could have done was make the climax of the movie look a little better...
N) That fight between Dumbledore and Voldermort was pathetic, like...really really pathetic.
O) Did Sirius even get a chance of fighting Bellatrix? No. There was just this random "Avada Kerdava" and Sirius died. They were meant to fight!
P) Lucius shouldn't have been able to touch the orb, Harry wasn't meant to give it over! It looked like he chickened out!
Q) All that stuff Harry said about feeling sorry for Voldermort. One word: Cheese. Not cheesy, just cheese. It stank! How soppy can you make the movie? I felt like screaming to Harry that he was a right ball of cheese, especially if you add that part to the ending, which was also a bunch of cheese.
R) Where is the emotions? Harry is meant to feel loads of different emotions? The only emotions I saw was bad acting.
S) Why is Hermione's hair so perfect? This isn't only based on the 5th movie but the 3rd and 4th as well. I mean, do the film industry not understand the word bushy? It was so neat and tidy and beautiful, there wasn't a hair out of place.
T) And the outfits, who are the costume people? Man were they weird, I mean, I'm pretty sure Ron has better clothes then that hideous sweater, even if he is broke.
U) There were NOT 119 decrees! There were about 30! And half of them were made up! I mean come on! Can you at least TRY to stick to the book.
V) Mrs Figg was like a plank. Where was her anger? She was so angry and annoyed in the book and she's all sweet and boring in the movie. EMOTIONS PEOPLE!
W) Ron was not meant to see Grawp! And why didn't Hagrid get sacked? Where was his lessons where Umbridge inspected him?
X) Where was St. Mungos? That was such an interesting part in the book! It just disappeared! I hate the way they cut this film down.
Y) They spend loads of time in the movie doing pointless stuff when they cut out all the good parts! Whoever wrote the screenplay obviously did not know the books very well to know which bits to keep in and which bits to keep out.
Z) And so overall, since I've run out of letters...it was just awful basically.
Sorry if you think of me as weird for not liking it but thats just my opinion!

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | The movie was great! I thought the ending went by really fast. And Luna did a great job portraying her character. Somethings they could have done better on, but they followed the book well enough so I'm happy. |

Otis Waymon | I rated it average. I really enjoyed it as a movie, but as a fan of the books, I was definitely disappointed. What annoyed me the most was the lack of Snape's worst memory; how hard it could it have been for that part to have been 2 minutes longer?
But the movie was definitely entertaining. If it had been a little longer and included more of the book, I don't think anyone would have complained, though... |

Klara Manssum Magical Creatures | i agree with the person above...great movie, but for a book fan its needed to be way longer....Sirius's death was way too corny for me! I cried and all,but looking back on it it seemed corny! My fav character is now Luna...whoever played her is a great actress...all in all, it was pretty good and better than the 3rd and 4th films...im happy =)
oh, and the person up there who though the movie sucked...well i agree with you on a few of your wonderfully written points...there was some cheeseyness in the movie..but the movie was not bad. at least not in my opinion!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Psyche Agatha Earnshaw Third | Honestly, I liked the fourth film better. But I loved this one too! But I don't think the people who don't read the books understood the movie. I loved the way that they showed Ginny's reactions about Harry and Cho!! Overall, it's just on the average side. |

I had been waiting for the Weasley twins' exit, and IMO, they totally blew it. I mean, all they did was fly through the room and shoot off some fireworks. I wanted to see them summon their brooms in front of Umbridge and fly away while she shouts orders to stop them.
I realize the MoM fight scene had to be shortened, but Neville's nose and wand didn't get broken, Hermione and Luna didn't get knocked out, and it was supposed to be Neville, not Lucius, who dropped the prophecy when it got smashed -- and not in front of Bellatrix, who was supposed to keep looking for it, not believing it was gone.
Voldemort was supposed to grab Bellatrix and swoop away with her. What's up with her disappearing through the fireplace?
No lifetime Quidditch ban? No Ron and Hermione being made prefects? Ron and Hermione in the carriage with Harry and Luna, instead of Ginny?
On the plus side, however, Luna was totally awesome. I loved her dreamy voice -- did anyone else notice how she sounded almost American at some points?
Umbridge was deliciously despicable. I loved it when she shouted at Harry to tell the centaurs she meant no harm, and Harry said, "I'm sorry, Professor. I must not tell lies." Oooh! Go, Harry!
Bellatrix was perfect. Wonderfully insane and evil.
And Ginny kicked some serious butt in the DADA lessons. You go, girl! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Anthony J. Ceithamer Second | Horrible...
There are only two things good about this movie.
The characters picked for their parts were perfect, and undeniably so. Luna Lovegood the best pick of them all.
Secondly, and lastly, the fight scene in IMAX kicked butt.
However, the fight scene should have been so much better, and the movie so much longer. The Lord of the Rings books maxed out 500 pages. This book was over 800 pages. The Lord of the Rings movies(done beautifully by the way), lasted 3 hours. 3. The Harry Potter five movie, 2 hours and 19 minutes, and that's including the ending credits.
The movie wasn't long enough, They left out key parts, and I wonder now what the seventh book will be like if J.K. Rowling seriously approved this movie...
A disappointment worthy of an Awful grade, and may God have mercy on the directors soul... |

And the acting on Daniel Radcliffes part was absolutely terrible, and Rons wardrobe was way off wack. But there were a lot of good points. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. I need to see it again before I fully decide I think. |

| I saw the movie at a midnight screening. I thought the movie was very good overall. Better than GoF and very close to the magic of the first three movies. Casting/Acting:
The casting/acting was solid. The young actors are improving. Ginny didn't get a lot of screen time but when she did her "eyeing" Harry was priceless and her magic ability strong. I think overall the young actors really did a great job! It was nice to see them together - they really looked like a unit - for the DA and MoM scences.
Luna and Umbridge walked out of the book and onto the screen!!! Their casting was PREFECT! Bloddy Brillant!!! Wow there really is a Luna out there!! She had the look and voice. And who would of thought pick and kittens could be that scary!!!
Bellatrix is sick & twisted! I LOVED when she licked her Dark Mark and stood on the rocks all insanse! I can't wait to see more of her.
The adults were amazing as always. They need more screen time.
We always need more Snape, Lupin and Sirius.
The Ordered looked great.
I loved Aberforth with his goat in the bar, LOL Nay's -
Dumbledore! Loads better than GoF but still far away from the rich character in the books or the portrayal in the first three movies.
Mrs. Figgs!!! Not at all what I pictured. Too werid and detached - yuck! Cuts:
I think the cuts worked well for the story. Most of what was cut was ack or side stories. I think they did the true story justice.
I would have cut Gawp, too. Directing:
The director really had a hard job with this film. This is more of a man verses self story more than anything. The book is long and repetitive but that's because it's more about the internal conflicts that Harry is enduring. The repetitiveness of his behavior builds up to the emotional climax in Dumbledore office at the end.
I know that is kind of hard to get across in film and not be boring to those who don't read the books.
I think David Yates is on the right track though. He brought back the magic of the first three movies and that was something GoF was lacking. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with HBP. Sceneray/Sets/Costumes:
Great! Great! Great!
Hogwarts looked wonderful! The MoM AMAZING! Great overall effects. I loved the Dark batteling the Light magic at the MoM. The start to the film was dark and gritty. The Therstials were creepy and beautiful. Overall Plot:
I feel David Yates kept to the heart of the story. But the ending was VERY dissapointing and anti-cilmatic.
I was waiting for this big emotional scence with Harry & Dumbledore and it never came. It was like that just sat down for a cup of tea. There was no emotion in the scence. Harry didn't look upset or angrey at Sirius' death. Dumbledore was not emotionally convincing when he told Harry "he cares for him". My changes:
I think if the movie was 30 minutues longer it would have been prefect!
I would have cut Grawp completely. I would have used that time to show how bad Harry's dreams were becoming.
I would have made the Dursley scence more emotional. Vernon would have tried to kick Harry out and Petunina would have gotten the Howler.
I would have kept the Prefect bit in just to show that Harry was isolated from his friends. I would have showed him riding on the train to Hogwarts alone.
They should of shown Kreacher with the locket at Grimauld place when he was pulling the box.
Snape's memory - longer & add Liliy's scene
The twins leaving fireworks - "Give'em Hell Peeves"
Hermine's "good luck kiss" for Ron
MoM - maybe visited at least one other room before finding the prophecy room (it was too easy)
MoM Battle - kids should have fought longer before the Order arrived & they should have shown Dumbledore kick Death Eater butt
Dumbledore & Harry - Harry yelling more and Dumbledore explaining things better i.e. - the prophecy, Umbridge sent the Dementors Book 7 Implications:
I wish I had a pen and paper when I saw the movie. Malfoy's scence with Harry and Luna scence with Harry both have quotes that are not in the book but I feel are signifiicant for book 7. Those two lines just really struct me. Overall Rating:
7.5
I can't wait for the DVD and all of the extras!!

FINALLY someone who agrees with me! For a while i thought i was the only one, everyone else loves the movie! I'm so glad that someone thinks the movie sucks as well! I think that Emma Watson could still look pretty even eith bushy hair, but obviously they just want to God-model the actors so they look gorgeous in every single way (apart from Daniel Radcliffe, that hair-cut was just wrong in every way possible, didn't look good, at all! They've made him look worse, thank goodness hair can grow...) I really wish Yates wasnt doing the next movie...urgh. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Chloe Fireclaw Third | i loved it! it was awesome, but they could've added more from the movie though, and although it wasn't what i expected i still loved it, it kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time, and i surprisingly cried when Sirius died, it was sad, and i expected to more of Harry's parents when they were younger than what we did see, it was like 5 seconds, and i didn't even see Lily.
