I voted 'Excellent' because it's my favorite HP movie now. After seeing it at the midnight premiere I was flabbergasted and blown out of my socks.
I didn't knew that it would be so awsome!

There are scenes that could have been better filmed but overall it was an excellent movie. David Yates did a great job, it surpases GoF by a Mile.
I agree that the scene nearly at the end, when Harry talks to Dumbledore in his office, was not what I expected. No angry Harry and no trashing items from DD's office.
But that, together with the Grawp scene (you can see clearly that it's computer generated) are the only downsides of this movie.
He HAD to cut scenes because you can't put everything from a book with 700+ pages in a movie. I can't complain...

I can't help loving this movie to bits!

David Yates can come back for DH after filming HBP, if I could choose a director for the last movie!

i didn´t like the movie. too much left out... the 'peck' of owls, the howler, the advance guard, sirius's mom, more elaboration on harry's dreams, the room of requirement was really dreadful, the whole bones, marietta edgecombe, sturgis podmore, mundungus fletcher storylines removed, no St. Mungos, no hagrid inspection, no quidditch, no maddam puddifoot's, no portable swamp, no o.w.l.s (astronomy, history, dada) no attack on mcgonagall and hagrid, etc. it was a pretty big dissapointment for me. figg not at all like in the books, really.

the battle at the ministry was pretty bad as well. we didnńt see the circular room with the doors, or the other parts of the department of misteries, the dialogue in the hall of profecies was nothign like the one in the book, dumbledore did not show up at the veil room, sirius did not die the way he used to, harry listened to the profecy from the orb, and the battle between dumbledore and voldemort was not nearly as good! where was the shield, where was fawkes, why didn't the fountain protect harry?

we also didn't get to see harry talking to sirius and lupin through umbridge's fire, or attempting to find sirius and talking to kreacher instead, what happend to the whole quibbler storyline, the interview, and rita?

we also missed out on sirius giving harry the mirror, and the big talk between harry and dumbledore in the end, and that was VERY important!! also, we didn't see harry really suffering sirius's death, we didn't even see him talking to nick about sirius becoming a ghost!

i was very very dissapointed by the movie, i had such high expectations, i even attended a midnight screening...

Way too short. Disappointment. Not worth the money. Far-fetched. Waste of time. Complete flop.

I thought it was fantastic. I voted for "Good" because I thought certain scenes could have been portrayed better and certain plot points could have been explained better {the prophesy, for one}, but I want to reserve more criticism/praise until I see the film again. I definitely know that I loved it and may just begin to call it my favorite of the series in the future.

LOL, I don't know if I'd use the word "flop." Just the midnight showings alone pulled in $13.7 million internationally, after all. I'd say it was quite a hit, flaws and all.

It was an alright movie, not great, but it was the best one so far.

I really didn't like how Sirius died. He was Avada'd? What? He wasn't Avada'd in the book, so I don't see why they had to throw that in. And when he fell into the veil was disappointing. There wasn't anything emotional about that scene at all, to me.

The scene I was looking forward to the most was Snape's Worst Memory. However, I was disappointed. I really wanted to see Snape as a child crying while his parents fought. And the entire memory itself was much too short and choppy. However Young Snape looked great.

I was also disappointed that we didn't get to see the Death Eater age and unage in the Department of Mysteries. And I wanted to see Ron go loopy with the brains!

There wasn't enough Draco. And Lucius didn't get arrested at the end. What?

I was thrilled with Bellatrix! She was great! However she didn't get nearly enough screentime. Love, love, loved her though!

Voldemort was rather disturbing in that suit....

The battle between Voldemort and Dumbledore was aweseome.

And did anyone notice the Cereal Boxes? They were called Cherrie-OWLS. A rip-off of Cheerios. XD

It was good, but I don't think it's the best HP movie. I might go see it again and see if my opinion changes.

just got home from the movie, loved it It was the best they could have done, but it seems like if you hadn't read the books you would be lost...but I don't think that includes anyone here...

I thought it was OK.I hated how they chopped stuff out, like little details that would make a big difference.Sirius' death and Dumbeldore's talk with Harry at the end weren't very good.No one knew Sirius was dead and Harry didn't have a tantrum.

I agree fully.I also hate the fact they always change directors for almost every film. And I don't remember Ron and Hermione becoming prefects.Maybe because the film didn't hold my attention.I don't want Yates to do the next one, even though he probably is,I don't like this film at all.I give it a Poor.Sorry, but it was my least favorite of all time.Half the stuff was cut out and the other half was rearranged and made up.

I rated it as "Good" because it was an amazing movie no doubt, but I felt as though it was somewhat empty. If I had been someone who never read the books, I would feel confused and wouldn't be capable of connecting one thing to another. Not only that, but I wouldn't have much "sympathy" for the characters. Not only that but there were a few scenes which I didn't remember at all from the book. The one the stuck out to me (and this could be just me...) was the scene near the end where Harry is posessed. I remember in the book that Harry was never really posessed, but just had his mind intruded by Voldemort. Seeing that scene confused me a bit but it was pretty well done. The kiss between Harry and Cho was a little more than I expected. I kind of wish they had made more innocent, and made it a small kiss to add more of a sense of growing up instead of making it seems as though they had been going out for several months. Snape's Worst Memory. That was...I'm not going to say it was the worst scene but they could've done sooooooooooo much better. I expected to see more of the relationship between James, Lily, and Snape altogether but instead I saw a disappointing rushed-flashback. The Alley scene in the beginning was a little weird. Mrs. Figg didn't have the personality from book, and failed to mention she was a squibb, creating confusion. The scene in which Harry goes along with the Advanced Guard felt really rushed but the plus was: it was needed, and the background scenery is beautiful. And of course on of the most important scenes of all...the talk between Dumbledore and Harry was very, very, very rushed, undetailed, and poorly done. There was absolutely no emphasis on Harry's emotional pain on Sirius' death, making the overall death less dramatic and less important even though it was. The least they could've done was have the tantrums, throwing things around, and the yelling coming from Harry to make it to show how important Sirius was to Harry.

What I did like were the DA scenes, the R/H and H/G moments (totallyness!!), the scenes in the Ministry of Magic (they weren't exactly what I imagined it to be but they were still good). Luna Lovegood and Umbridge were WONDERFULLY portayed by Staunton (who just had that high-pitched, fhjsdkdhf voice and jsfhdskfhdjsh personality) and Evanna (who just captured the dreamy nature of Luna). There was some humor which I enjoyed very much, and for some reason, I just loved each scene with Fred and George in it which is a sign of....improvement? Thestrals were REALLY nice, and Grawp was so different from when I imagined him while reading the book but he was still so adorable. I liked the whole small relationship between Grawp and Hermione which was very cute.
Overall, like I said, the movie was "good" amazing and well-made however there were areas which could've been done better.

I absolutely adored the movie. I personally think this was the best one so far. I went into the movie thinking the entire thing would be bad except for the end battle. Instead I thought the only part that didn't floor me was the battle. I hate the fifth book with a passion, which is probably why I'm so surprised I loved this one so much. In my eyes, the new script writer took the best bits of OotP (which IMO are few and far between) and strung them together into a seamless script. And the acting! Let's just say I'm still fangirling over all the boys and I'm giddy over Luna. Bravo Evanna for being the single greatest casting choice ever!

I didn't like the movie so much, mostly because it couldn't possibly compare to the book and how I had it pictured in my head, so it was a big dissapointment. Another thing that made me mad was for the first five or so times reading OOTP, I cried when Sirius died, so i was expecting to be bawling at the theater. They went through his death so fast and didn't even show Harry getting upset, and I really wasn't affected when he died. It was a big letdown for me. And I also think they left too much out.

This movie was very good but they had a lot of dramatic effect.
My brother and sister (9, and 7) were terrified. Dan looks great!

I like most people thought that they missed out TOO MUCH!! I realy wanted to see Franz, howver the 5th book is in my opnion the most boring becoz at first all they talk about is exams it only gets good again at the end and to be fair to the film i thought the end was done very well that bit where D and V fight was beathtaking.

Even though it was rushed, they took loads of stuff out, and it lasted for 2 hrs and 18 minutes, I still think this movie was awsome!

But, I was left feeling a little blank. Sirius's death, Snape's Worst Memory, and the Prophecy were done very, very poorly, and I was extremely disappointed in them...and they were all IMPORTANT SCENES!
Whatever is left out of the films can't be that important - in terms of the overall arc of the series - otherwise, like with Kreacher, J.K.Rowling would step in and advise changes. The fact she approved this script should speak volumes.

OMG! I just saw OotP and it was so good! I gave it an Excellent!

SPOILER!!: This contains many spoilers! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Okay. First off, the beginning, in my opinion, was a little rushed. I didn't mind that much. And the dementors. OMFG! I flipped out! They are so much scarier and violent than in PoA. I like OotP dementors more. They are now believable as what they are. Umm ... Dudley. WTF happened to him? He's [The actor] changed so much since we last saw him in PoA. And the gang ... they were just CUTE! XD
Going on. Mrs. Figg was awesome! I would've loved to see her get all mad at Mundungus. But, there was no Mundungus. Other than that, she was completely awesome. I just wished we could see more of her in those scenes.
The Advanced Gaurd scene was so quick! Like one minute they're at the Dursley's, the next they're flying. But, Tonks made me happy with that scene. Lupin should've been there, though. But, Tonks' hair turned red because of Moody. I laughed at that little bit.
The flying to Number 12 was just flat out cool! When they landed at Number 12, I was sitting at the edge of my seat. It was so cool how it appeared.
Umm ... again they went as fast as they could through that intot he Ministry. The Ministry went quick as well until it got to the Hearing. Even that went a little bit fast. Then we see Mrs. Figg once more and she made me laugh. "Well, one was big and the other skinny" Or something like that. Lol!
Then back to the Headquarters and then the train and Hogwarts. Luna was awesome. I just love her voice and Evanna did a brilliant job doing Luna. Then the whole school thing goes 'round and Umbrisge is gaining power at Hogwarts and the D.A. is started shortly after the Sirius in the fire thing. Brilliant!
The D.A. lessons where so amazing. I really enjoyed those. Especially the Patronus Charm lesson. Ron's Patronus ran Neville over. Lmao!
The kiss. Gosh! I did not think I'd like it, but it was so ... freakin' awesome! Yes, it was a bit long but it was so awesome! And Dan obviously enjoyed it! XD
Umm ... then after there's Ron and hermione asking about it and there we see some R/Hr! I loved it!
I was disapointed that they gave Veritaserum to Cho and made her be the one that told. Then she gets shunned! But, I don't like Cho anyway. So, HAHA! *Ish mean*
Umm ... the twin's 'escape' was brilliant. I just wanted to jump on a brom and go with them! And the firework thingy that 'attacked' Umbridge and destroyed the Decrees was totally cool! Fred and George have style.
Lol! I'm so not going in order here. All the Sirius and Harry scenes made me want to cry. They (Dan and Gary) performe those scenes very well. The made it so that Harry and Sirius were really really really close.
The little Azkaban breakout scene was interesting. It's basicly a huge triangular building in the middle of no where. I really went nuts over that scene.
Kreacher. *Ish so out of order* I can't believe they didn't want Kreacher in the film! I am so glad that they (Well, Jo told them to) bring Kreacher in the film. But, they are going to be bumbed out that they didn't include a certain locket. *Whistle*
Dumbledore's little leaving scene was decent. It was nice and all, but it went so quick for me. And the Trelawney sacking was hilarious.
The thestral scene between Harry and Luna were cool! The Grawp scene was so hilarious. Grawp/Hermione! Lol!
Occlumency lessons were way to short! And Snape's memory was much to short. We didn't even get to see young Lily!
Okay. The centaurs/Grawp/Umbridge/Harry/Hermione scene was awesome. The centaurs weren't really in it, but they took Umbridge away which is just fine with me. =D Then Harry says, "I'm sorry, Professor. I must not tell lies." That line cracked me up! Lol!
Okay. The Department scenes in the MoM were brilliant. Jason's acting and everyone else's were brilliant! Then there's the fighting by the veil. OMG! I loved that scene.
Sirius' death. I cried! I really cried. All the Harry and Sirius hugging and stuff earlier and then his death was just "NOOOOOO!" for me. My best friend, Christina, cried a little. We're total Sirius fan girls. Gary's acting throught OotP was just mind blowing!
After, we see Dumbledore and Voldemort fighting. I loved it! very interesting seeing the two greatest wizards to the age fighting each other. Then Voldemort possesing Harry was ... fightning. And then Harry kicks VOldemort out. I loved it.
Then we're back at Hogwarts and then near the end with the Harry/Luna scene. I loved that scene. Not that I ship Harry/Luna, but it was a few cute scene. Then Luna's shoes appear and then she goes for "some pudding".
Then there's the whole going back to the station and it ends.

I loved this film! I am so glad that Yates is coming back for HBP. Hopefully, he'll consider doing DH, because his directing skills, in my opinion, are flat out amazing. OOTP WAS EXCELLENT!!!

frankly it left much to be desired. there was so much cut out and the continuity sucked. as a movie it was pretty good though, but although i shed a few tears at sirius' death, it didnt make me cried as hard as the book did. I loved Luna though!

HP 5. I saw it at midnight on Tuesday, and tonight with my brother. I liked it. For those who did not here are my recommendations for future HP movies:

1) Lower your standards. Understand that if a 300 page book cannot be accurate, then certainly a 500-600 page book cannot be accurate in 2 1/2 hours.
2) Don't reread the book before you go. If your memory is anything like mine, it assimilates facts w/o knowing exactly from which book they came. Rereading the book refreshes my mind of their origin, and increases the likelihood of me finding fault with things.
3) Pick your favorite scene from the book and pray it is done correctly. In HP 4 I chose Voldemort and Harry's duel, which I was quite fond of in the movie. In HP 5 I didn't have a favorite scene and so anything went.

I pretty much lost confidence of seeing a completely accurate movie after book 3. With my lowered expectations, I walk away from the movies with a smile. And give my tips to disappointed viewers. If you have a photographic memory, however, shoot for recommendation 3.

Love, Razgie
