Personally, I think that Harry will be the one who has to kill Vodemort. I mean in the prophesy it makes it sound as if that is why Harry has the scar in the first place. Like he is the only one who can do it.

That is exactly right. Maybe he won't die, but Harry will defeat Voldemort another way. Dumbledore did say that there are more things far worse than death..

I have a theory that because of the Avada Kedavra curse that rebounded, at least some of Voldemort's soul went into Harry and then some of Harry's soul went into Voldemort when he took his blood in GOF - so maybe it has to be Harry so that he can expell Voldemort's soul from himself as well as get his own soul back from Voldemort.

Sort of like some cultures that believe if you kill your enemy you gain their power/courage/strength.

I think that the reason that Dumbledore didn´t killed Vldemort is: he knows that Voldemort and Harry are connected to each other so deeply that it would mean the death of both of them....

I voted that Harry will be the one to kill Voldemort but, like alot of other people have said, i think it'll be done in a way that none of us are expecting. I'm kinda curious though, since they both have the same wands, and in the 4th book that caused that whole "bringing out everyone who voldermort had killed" to happen, if they tried to fight each other, would that happen again?

Well I heard this theory that the prophecy didn't say Harry had to kill LV or the other way around... the prophecy says "one must die at the hand of the OTHER", so maybe there is an "other" who is the only one who can kill either Harry or LV. I really like the theory, but I still voted the third choice on the poll.

well i said the 3rd because in the prophecy it stated that "one will fall at the hand of the other." so yah.

I voted the third too, but am I the only one to think that Harry won't kill Voldemort? He doesn't need to kill him, only vanquish him. And I don't think it's in Harry's nature to kill, nor do I think he's really SUPPOSED to kill Voldie. I think love is the clue here as stated before. Time and time again we have heard in the books that prophesies can't be trusted, Firenze said it, Dumbledore said it, it's been mentioned on several occations that they are not to be taken literally. So I can't figure out why we are supposed to swallow this one.

i dunno i dont think any of those are really right, i mean ya we know harry has to be the one to kill him but that still doesn't explain why dumbeldor doesnt at least make a go at it maybe he has bigger plans which i doubt involve trying to convert the leader of the most evil group in all of wizard history

I have a theory, and it goes like this: Harry dies but in teh process Voldemort gets trapped for life by some ancient spell and cannot get out, so he is as good as dead.
