This looks like a good thread.It would be nice to get the chat back but its still 2-3 weeks away and maybe a thread to download stuff like ringtones,music,screensavers would be good too.

Yeah, I wanted to add "downlaods" and "contests" to the list but there is a limit of 10 choices, so I thought "other" would be best.

For the record, I look for the following:

News (I like the "all-encompasing" option rather than exclusives, but an exclusive here and there is cool too.)
Forums (I think SS has by far the best)
Interviews (mostly member ones because I love learning mroe about people)
Images (for me it's the fan art, but I also like to see new cast-members when pics are released)

A download section would be good but i did not really think of contests but i suppose contests would be really good.The image gallery in SS was big but due to the recent loss it would be good that we have new pics coming in,and as for the forums i think SS has the best forums on the internet.So i hope SS comes with new stuff soon.

I agree! And the news are the best at SS too...although its been quite slow lately..but I know its not fully up yet...so thanks to Em for the hard work on keeping us updated...

I think a forum (which I completly agree that SS has the best I have seen), news and Images. Also something WAY different from any other HP site, I don't have any ideas, lol, but something to make SS totally, completly, 120% unique.
Downloads and Contests would rock too!

I've mentioned this before in private to Rich but I would like to see more of the best news pictures find their way into the Gallery. Not very picture but the really good ones, because I think we lose them once the article they are in runs it's course. People don't search the news forums for pictures.

I'd like to see an option in the Gallery to chose a picture in there for use in an avatar or siggy. Looking at the pictures are great to be able to use them without downloading and everything you have to do to get them ready to use as an avatar or a siggy would rock.

Personally, I think the fan fics and the discussion forums are the most important, and those parts are great here on SS!

Also I can't wait to get my hands on an SS T-shirt, or any other SS merchandise for that matter. You sell - I buy!

Totally ditto. And I forgot, [you could choose more than one?] the forum, I love the forums here, I've tried a few others [not a lot] but this is the only one I keep up with or bother with anymore. I'd like to try the chat when that's up, and lastly the news, which is funny because that's what I always check first.

Things I'd be interested in seeing on the site:

A download section, complete with picture and poster images, wallpapers, specifically SS site designed and created wallpapers that have SS title or logos, so that members can display on their desktops their love for SS. Mutimedia, video or sound clips. HP related fonts (I know they're out there, I have several myself). HP screensavers, and specially an SS screensaver. HP and SS avatars, buddy icons, ect.

An SS Store where members can buy HP and SS site promotional products, T-shirts, hats, mugs, posters, pens, pencils, keychains, figures, HP toys or other products, the books, videos, DVD's, ect. ect. ect....

An off topic fanart gallery for non-HP related art, although there is probably little hope of that one, because we used to have one, very briefly, but apparently it wasn't a very popular or highly excepted idea and was quickly deleted.

A games section, other then the forum games (Zonko's), that has a few flashplayer type interactive games or trivia quizes.

I agree and along the gallery lines, I would like to see the off topic section of the gallery come back. It was there so briefly that it wasn't given a fair chance!

Sub-sites would be good. Something for loyal SnitchSeekers, with, say, 5000 posts most of which are not in the games. They could get a bit of webspace on an individual topic. That's to say, there could be no two sites on the same subject, making SnitchSeeker a true reflection of Harry Potter fans and their many interests.

So, say I got 5000 posts, I might want to set up a 5Gb site about Discworld, but someone is already designing a site at discworld.snitchseeker.com, so I could make a Snow Patrol site instead at snowpatrol.snitchseeker.com.
But my friend, who also gets 5000 posts, wouldn't be able to do a Snow Patrol one now and instead sets up harryandhermione.snitchseeker.com, a H/Hr page.

All subsites would, of course, have prominent links to the main Snitchseeker page as well as any relevant threads in the SS discussion forums. That would be great.

SS seems much better now. Maybe it's because I have gotten used to it. I miss chat though.
