I haven't been on for sooo long.

Is your polish better now? I'm sure it is. It's been 2 months since you came here right?

As for me I am really tired all the time. I have so many things to revise and even more to learn. I wasn't aware of the fact that this last year in high school is going to be so difficult and hard. I have hardly any free time. Please I want these exams to be over, I want june so badlyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

My Polish is still very bad, but it is definitely better than it was a month ago. Every day I try to learn a little more Polish, but I just went on a trip and all we did was speak English with each other so that did NOT help, but I don't care it was fun.

But yeah, I know all my Polish friends HATE school, but I think it's a little easier in some aspects, tho definitely harder in others, here.

Well, I do not hate school. I'm just stressed with the upcoming exams.

To be honest I can say that I pretty like it. Meeting friends etc. some of the classes are always fun but well some of them are soooo stupid like "PO". You just sit an hour listening to somethin you wil never find usefull in the future. I just think it's a waste of our precious time. I'd rather had extra biology or chemistry class than PO...

LOL yeah!!! PO is such a boring class, even the Headmaster at my school told me I didn't have to go to it... I only go to a few classes, no maths or sciences, however, because I have a hard enough time understanding those when they're preached to me in ENGLISH. I love my English class, however, it's so much fun, and the kids are so funny, and nice, and I learn a few new Polish words.

The word of today is: Dukładnie. (I don't know for sure if I can spell it, however...)

Well it is "dokładnie" but you've got it almost right I imagine how other pupils must be stressed in their english classes with you listening to them

Today I had the pseaking part of CAE exam and it was so terrible. I couldn't concentrate at all because of the stress. My voice was trembling, my hands were shaking. And I couldn't come up with anything wise to say :/ Real disaster.... I'll be suprised if I manage to pass the exam at all....

CAE? Is that a pre part of the Matura??? I take it it's English, as well???

HAHA. Well, I did pretty good for spelling dokładnie considering I was attempting to spell from ear, not from reading it

Haha teach me an important word!!! OH MAM PYTANIE!!!! What is the Polish word that sounds like (don't kill me for spelling, haha) "coin-soof" if you were to spell it in English???

Not really :p CAE = Certificate in advanced english and it is organised by Cambridge University. People all over the world sit these exams (there are 2 more FCE - First Certificate in English and CPE - Certificate of Proficiency in English).

And to be pretty honset I do not have absolutely any idea what "coin -soof" can be. I tried reading it aloud in various ways and it just doesn't sound like polish word at all Sorry

But I'll think about it and if I figure it out I'll let you know immediately.

And... Still next time I hear any of my Polish friends saying it (which you are probably right is końców), then I'll let you know which Polish word I'm talking about is and what it's english equivilant is... hehe.



Wow... so many Acronyms for English exams... I bet you'll do just fine in it, tho... I mean, you shouldn't have to have something wise to say to pass the exam, as long as you don't mess up your English too horribly, right???

Teraz, mieszkam we Wrocławiu, ale... Not actually IN Wrocław, but about 30km away in a little town called Jelcz-Laskowice.

Tak ja już w tym roku zdaję maturę A dokłądnie to rozszerzoną biologię, chemię i fizykę - bo na medycynę bym chciała, a poza tym to roz angielski - z czystej ambicji No i polski przymusowo podstawowy. Wierz mi szybko ci to zleci Ja pamiętam jak w tamtym roku się cieszyłam, ze jestem w drugiej klasie i ze nie musze jeszcze pisac matury... a tu rok szybko zleciał ale coz damy rade

Emily, I've been thinkong about this word and I've got an idea! Maybe it is "w końcu" - "finally" ? I can't really come up with anything but this.

And is your family moving to Wroclaw? Or do you want to stay in Poland for a while ?

And when it comes to the exam... well they actually (the examiners) expect me to say soemthing wise. Unfortunatley...

Nope. Not "w końcu" because it end's in the "oof!" sound like I said before... lol hehe.

No, my family's not moving, but I'm changing host families... I'll end up having 3 different families...

It's the program I'm here with. Rotary International. and party of Rotary is Rotating families... I dunno why really, it's supposedly to experience all the aspects of the foreign culture we're in. Because they said we'd have one rich family, one average family, and one slightly lower class family... but so far everyone's only had rich families... and yeah.

Basically it's just to learn about how each family is different and stuff. I like it, because if I had to stay with this family for the whole year, I think I might've gone crazy or ended up just going home early or something.

I dunno since it's christmas break I haven't heard any of my friends saying it so I can't ask them what it means. Soon, tho. Oh, okay I get it And are you still in touch with those families you're not longer living with? And is your second family better than the first one? I mean do tehy speak english? since i remember you were having problems with the first one cause of their english skills - or the lack of them

and "co znów" well when I use it I say "co znowu" but I guess the first one is also correct. It means "what's now?" I suppose and You say it when you are irritated by something

Ah yes, my new family is so amazing. They're taking me to the Czech republic for skiing tomorrow... I'm so excited. AND yes they speak English (my new host mom is an English professor at a university), haha, and they include me in things.

So... "znowu" would be like... "again" or "next" or something like that???

Hmm okay. That works for me, haha.
