Hogwarts RPG Name: Jenna Reetz | This bothered me very much!!!!!!!!! I had to explain SOOOOO much to my sister after we were done watching it! It made me SOOO mad!!!!!!! Those were important details in Harry's life! And the directors say that they only want to put in stuff that is important in Harry's journey through life. Well they didn't do a very good job in POA. |

That was touching. | Well that was obvious that James was Harry's Patronus, pat=father!
I was madd, too about it, and somebody wrote to J.K. Rowling about it. She said she didn't really mind! I guess that's good for her, because people might be so confused that they buy the book and read it! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Athena Fifth | I was very mad at how short the movie was. They totally cut out too much and rearranged it. It was good as movies go, but compared to the book...what can I say? |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Athena Fifth | This was my favorite book, and I was so excited for the movie. But, they cut out most ofmy favorite parts!
Like Quidditch! This is the year that they finally won! And it was to help with Harry's Patronus! Also in Quidditch, there was the part where Draco imitates a dementor, but ends up getting caught.
Also there was the part where Sirius sends Harry the permission slip which makes sure that Sirius is alright. It also allows Harry to go to Hogsmeade the next year!
And finally, there wasn't any explanation as to what the patronus symbolized and who the marauders were! That was a major part of the book! |

| yip i agree .... my brother decided to come with me too see this film...he's never read any of the books but saw the first to films and thought they were good...anyway... when we came out he was like "what just happened in there, it made no sense" he didn't understand why there was a stag in the middle of the water and the whole scene in the shriekin shack it went too quickly and brushed over all the important stuff.....
however i think it is the best film so far...i love the part when they use the time turner..... |

| That really bothered me. They did leave out a lot of information. For example, when Sirius says "the map never lies," they dont explain how he knows that! Hopefully they will not leave out a lot of information in GOF. |

| Finally........I was scared to admit it. This is a HP fansite, I was afraid to make HP sound bad or anything. But that was totaly freaky. You had to have read the book to really, truly get it. Eh? |

| During the entire film I keep leaning over to my sister and telling her "That didn't happen, and they cut all that out" over and over again... she finally got mad and told me to be quiet....
I was really upset that they did cut out so much... I actually lost respect for the film/director.... I liked Chris Columbus better... I hope this new director for GoF will work it like Chris...
Make it like the book... don't use the book as a referece, use it as the script..... |

| I was really dissapointing in POA. I mean alot of my favorite parts were cut out.
I wasn't that dissapointed in GOF but I think I'll go nuts if it happens in OOTP b/c that's my fav book! Some people have been saying they'll caught off the whole "Snape memory". I think that'll just ruin the whole movie for me!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Valera Orora Valentyne Sixth Year | blame the screenwriter, just blame that id*ot Steve Kloves
but wait a sec, i kinda like PoA though.
i like the way Cuaron turned the movie to a bit more contemporary-ish style instead of really old-fazhioned like what Columbus did.
i feel the same way like you guys about the unexplined missing part, but on that part, i rather blame the freakin screenwriter |

First Year | I liked this one, but it didn't make sense to non-hp readers. like some other people said, my bro didn't really get it(mostly the whole time turner thing but time travel is a confusing concept..) oh well...i really liked GoF but they cut out soo much! wait a minute..there must be a thread for that somewhere...
but yes, they cut out to much in PoA |

| Yes, I was sooooooooo mad when I heard they would be leaving the stuff out, but look at Gof? That's even worser. I just can't wait to see what they will do with Ootp. **Sniffs** I'll freak out if they delete one big scene that includes Siry....

| I hate how in every film there are huge parts with Snape that are completely cut out! I mean I know that the film has to be a condensed version of the book but still. Like in POA they removed the whole Snape thing at the end where he flips after Sirius escapes, looses his Order of Merlin.... come on! That just sets up the stage even more for the conflict b/t Snape and Harry. And what about how Snape knew Lupin was a werewolf? That would have made the film make a whole lot of more sense to people.... and then i don't remember which book it was in, Snape was reffing a Quidditch match. I know that wasn't a very important part in the book but man would I have ever loved to see Snape on a broomstick? wow lol. But, Curon (sp) did do a wicked job with what was actually included in the film. Props to him |

why the patronous is a stag
How Snape knew Lupin was a werewolf
How Snape knew where the secret passage in the Whomping Willow was

I would have never known that Sirus, James, Lupin & Wormtail created the map or that James and Harry have the same patrounus if I didn't read the book.
We all know they have to leave stuff out but this stuff is key to understand what happens later on in series. maybe they do it on purpose so you have to read the books to get the whole thing? |

| I don't even like to get started on this Movie. It was done so Horribly. They cut so much stuff it was painful to watch. It was the shortest movie of them all. They could have added some more stuff. It focused more on the Patronus then anything else. I was expecting something totally different. I absolutely disagree with how this movie was made. |
