yeh there's really a complete change in the uniform from the ties, shirt robes & i think the scarf also...
the ties during the 1st 2 movies had thick stripes of the House colors wherein from PoA & GoF its a combination of thick & thin stripes..
the vest shirt in PoS & CoS had linings of House color but the new hasnt
and of course the robes had changed too...

I love these uniforms. I wish we had them at school. Mine would be red as I'm in Fletcher.

I really like the uniforms in GOF, except that I would change the ties back to the thick stripes in the first two movies. I liked that design better.

Yeah, I agree...I liked the uniforms in the first two films better, also! But, the GOF uniforms would be so better than my schools uniforms! UGH!

I really liked the new school uniforms. I thought they looked a lot better than the plain old back on the hoods like in the first two movie even thought that is how they are discribbed in the book but still i did like the change.

i think that they should keep a steady uniform. i personally like it that they dont wear their robes 24/7. i like the casual parts. it makes it seem more realistic

the new ones are more grown up. Like, instead of knee socks, emma is wearing tights, which I like because it makes the outift look more fashionable.

I liked the more relaxed look of the uniforms. The kids are older and that's what they do to uniforms in real life.

On the POA DVD in one of the interviews it gives the director's reason for the
kids uniforms changing:

Quote:
Interviewer: I noticed this change in how the children are dressed. They're much more relaxed, much more casual.

Alfonso Cuaron: The thing is that they are thirteen. This is a passage from
childhood to teenage years. It is the moment in which the boogieman doesn't live in the closet or under the bed. You know, the boogieman resides inside you. So the whole thing we wanted to bring a really raw naturalism to the kids. The theory would be kind of that the more naturalistic we were with the kids, with the performance, with the blocking, with the way they behave, the more magical the magic was going to be.

Interviewer: And did you think it loosened them up having their own kind of
clothes?

Alfonso Cuaron: I'd only done this first film, but something I know is that the
kids really felt comfortable with their clothes.

Michael Seresin: Oh, yeah. In the beginning, they just loved the idea - it was a bit of individualism, it wasn't just all stamped out like the school uniform
thing. Obviously, they got used to it.

Alfonso Cuaron: With the school uniform thing, we asked, "Okay, guys, here's the uniforms, what would you do with them?" And you will see some kids with the ties out, the ties all the way to here, some of them very tidy. So it's just pretty much like seeing kids walking out of school.

The only differance I noticed in the POA uniforms was their scarves (well I think it was POA). Like theyre mostly crimson with two thin yellow lines, whereas the other scarfs are just equal bits of crimson and yellow. Personally I like the third year ones better :]

In PoA I hated what Hermione ended up wearing for muggle clothes! I thought it didn't fit with her character. But the uniforms I agree were stylish!

ok i dont care what they do with the uniforms.
the MUGGLE CLOTHING!?
what the heck was up with that!?
wizards and witches neverrrrrrr wear muggle clothing!
maybe around muggles, but only sometimes.
they always wear cloaks and stuff.
dont you remember Mr. Weasley attempeting to look like a muggle and asking harry if his outfit was ok?
dont you remember in SS after voldemort returned, vernon and other muggles saw strangely dressed people on the streets?
dont you remember people looking at fudge and his green bowler hat strangley?
there are other occasions too!
stick to the story!
stop wearing muggle clothing!

I dont think there is anything wrong with the school uniforms. I think they are pretty cool. They are stylish and safisticated at the same time.
