Hogwarts RPG Name: Isabella Thompson First | Yeah exactly it wasnt that much of a change. You saw the kids in normal clothes in the first two movies. |

Even though it was updated in the third movie, there were a few incident out of robes in the first two films. Also, Ron's updated outfit wasn't very updated because he only gets hand-me-downs anyway. |

| i prefered the newer ones. it set the feel i thought.
especially since any of us who've worn uniforms know, after the first hour or so, jumpers are off, shirts all over the place, ties undone.
its the natural response to a uniform. you make it comfortable for you, more like your everyday clothes than a uniform at all.
hmmm i miss my uniform those were the days. |

| I liked them, they didnt wear those robes as much as the first two movies, though if I was at Hogwarts I would have a whole lot of trouble getting the tie on. I'd scrap the tie if I could design it. |

| I really liked the uniform change, its more like a british school uniform now. I liked the old ones too, but they were more americanised :/ . I liked how the hood of the robe was red green yellow or blue. I hope they keep it! its more sophistocated. |

| I didn't even notice the change of uniform for ages. I like both actually. I also like what was chosen for them to wear when they were in muggle clothes mainly because they were ordinary clothes, there were no statements being made, no designer labels etc. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Remus Viktor Lupin Sixth Year | I was disappointed that the director for the third movie changed the uniforms. I can tell you, since I go to a school that was found in 1400s, that changes to school uniforms are far and few between in old schools. Eton, where I attend, still wears tails on the jackets. We wear white shirts with tipped collars. These haven't changed for many years. School jackets, ties, crests and such aren't subject to whims of fashion but hold to traditions of years past. Hogwarts would never just change their uniforms the way it was done it the movie. Even out of class wear is subject to a set of guidelines that we follow here at Eton. You can only wear casual clothes when you are exiting or arriving at school, but rarely can this be done on school grounds. We have too many sports clothes, uniforms and such in our kits for other clothes. |

Plus inCoS we saw that the Uniform in Riddle's time was different. JK made it clear that the kids can wear muggle clothes whenever they're not in a classroom, so after classes they can more or less wear what they want, never mind what British Private Schools do - Hogwarts isn't private. I don't think JK would have allowed the change, had she not approved.
I think it looks much more British now, like my old school uniform. Most are relaxing these days and ties are going out (though not in HP) so it's nice to see a bit more colour and less boarding school like dull mannerisms in the clothes. After all, Hogwarts is meant to be exciting and different to our schools, that's part of the appeal of it. |

| | | I liked the uniforms, they we're more realistic, like someone said, like a british school. They even disregard the supposed uniform rules the same as I used to.
Aren't wizards supposed to wear robes though? I always thought robes we're like a dress basically. Like Merlin wore, like the back of Ootp (BritishHB), some person at the Quidditch World Cup says he liked the woman's skirt, because he got a good breeze round his privates or something. This just makes me think that wizards wouldn't even wear ties or shirts, or even trousers.
I think they just did this in the movies to make it more understandable to younger viewers, and to not make them want to start wearing dresses, especially boys.
Btw, the Muggle clothes Ron and Hermione wore we're ace, I loved 'em. Harry, Harry Harry though. All that gold.. Get some better clothes! even the Weasley jumpers we're cool, and Harry has about three by ths point. | |

| I think that is was ok to do a movie without wearing the robes. I thought the robes were great though, but really either is fine for me. I wasn't too crazy about the new quidditch uniforms though. I want the old ones back. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Isabella Thompson First | I also disagree about the changing of the uniforms. I mean my school is a private school as well but we just changed our uniform because it was too shabby so we got new smarter ones in the last 2 years. I dont think there is anything wrong with changing the uniforms. |
