BTW Gambon made Dumbledore IRISH not Scottish out of respect for Harris.
why would he make Dumbledore Scottish? Ricard Harris and Micheal Gambon are both Irish.

Some people said that he mixed his accent through the film going from Irish to Scottish and then to American but that isnt the case. It is Irish through the whole film.

I think that Micheal Gambon was good as the new Dumbledore.

I believe Michael Gambon's the best replacement for Richard Harris.

I love the new Dumbledore!!!!!!!. I think Gambon really hit the spot when he got to play Dumbledore...he is funny and excentric just like DD is. LOVED HIM!. He is going to be great in movie 4!!!!!!!!

Im really reall happy with him.

I thought Gambon played him with less emotion than Harris. That may be due to how little screen time he had however. I was used to the scenes of Harry and Dumbledore talking over what has happened at the end and there was absolutely no personal communication between Harry and Dumbledore in this movie.

However, I thought the lines they gave Dumbledore to be very much in character with how he is in the books. For example, the start of the year banquet speech when Dumbledore goes off on some weird tangent about the light and finding happiness seemed to me to be a hidden message to Harry that he needed to learn the Patronus Charm. But then when he goes off on his weird tangent about dreams when they are all sleeping in the dining room didn't seem to have a purpose unless it was foreshadowing to books 4 and 5.

I agree with you in the way that I think Gambon showed the different, more wiser side to Dumbledore.

The new Dumbledore was alright. I think perhaps they might have found a better one but Gambom was oaky. I was hoping someone like Viggo M. would be casted as Sirius. After I saw PoA(the day it came out! yippie!) I thought they could have found a better Dumbledore, Sirius, and Lupin.

i thought the new dumbledore lacked some of the magic of the old dumbledore(im having a mental blank and cant remember his name). but michael gambon was good, he had the mischief of dumbledore but not so much the magic.

i think that michael gambon did his job okay. i love richard harris as dumbledore, because there was just magic in the way he played, but gambon was good too. he just showed a different side of dumbledore.

Michael Gambon did an alright job.. I still think Richard Harris could have done better. But the one thing I really disliked about Cuarón's job was that he had Dumbledore do some stupid things that the real Dumbledore wouldn't have done. For example; near then end of the movie when the three and Dumbledore and in the hospital wing and Dumbledore patted Ron's painful leg, the realy Dumbledore isn't that much of an idiot and woul have known about his leg.

Default HE is ok..

I think Michael gambon in okay for dumbledore....but he can never replace richard.Richard harris was soo much like his charecter!!his personality, way of talking, that gentleness, concerning smile.....i just cannot take the fact he is not playing dumbledore anymore.Even now when i read the books,i always imagine richard as dumbledore telling the dialouge. But nothing against michael gambon,he is nice as well!!

I did generally like the new dumbledor but he just didnt have the same ancientness as the old one. Im not saying that to say that the last one was super old i am saying that he gave Dumbledor this ancient quality that was just absolutely awesome.

Both Dumbledores are real good, but I think Richard Harris had that twinkle in his eye, not saying the new guy doesnt, cos he does, but Richard just had something that suited him for the part. I remember hearing about "Dumbledore" dying and how they found someone to replace him and how no one would tell the difference, so I thought, ok, cool, if thats the case then no one will notice. I certainly was surprised, however, at how different they really were. You would have had to have been blind to not notice. I'll miss Harris, but at least Gambon has something to go with, he's not bad, and I dont think people would have complained if he had gotten the part first, because he is like the character, but, I think, Harris was just perfect for the part.

RIP Richard Harris

I don't like the new Dumbledore at all. I mean, he doesn't even look or sound the same. Everytime I think of Dumbledore, I see Richard Harris in my mind. Everytime I read the books I see Richard Harris in my mind. Everytime I read a fanfic with DD in it I see Richard Harris in my mind.

Again I'm half and half, he was good but I preferred Richard harris, but I mean you can never replace him and we have to accept who they have, . There were some things I think he did well, but others I didn't care for,

There is no better Dumbledore on this earth than Richard Harris was. I will take on any who say different. Gambon is ok, but Richard Harris was great!
