Cool I hope it's a ghost or something and not the ghost actors but a real ghost that be cool!

Its probably Nearly Headless Nick and the Bloody Baron fighting on the floor below where everyone is. And one of them flew up towards the ceiling and came through it. No! They were probably helping Lupin get Sirius around the school! Or maybe Crookshanks is a cat who can turn into a ghost whenever it wants and crookshanks was chasing Scabbers!!! Or maybe it was a colony of Blast Ended Skrewts rampaging through the school while they are stacked on top of each other!! Just some suggestions... Or is could just be a glitch, which wouldn't be as exicting as the things I said.

can't say I have noticed in the loads of times I've watched my DVD *thinks* maybe I should watch it again and look more closely for it? Might have been someone's shadow.

I watched this scene a few times last night after seeing this thread. It seems as though it is merely a trick of light caused by the large torch that is at the entrance to the Great Hall. If you watch the scene & follow the motion of the "ghost" it follows quite perfectly with the sideways & downward motion of the camara that is filming the scene. (*Note that a "reflection" of this nature would move in the exact opposite motion as the actual camara lens. That being the case, it did follow it perfectly.*) Especially since the "ghost" doesn't truly come into the picture until the camara that is doing the filming ( across the room from the torch) becomes more evenly in line with the torch.

Basically, it is a "reflection" of the torchlight that the camara's lens picked up. In my opinion, it is something that the director & editor's should have "picked up" as well.

Well if it is really a trick of light, then what is that black thing that crosses the hallway before the "trick of light"? It is NOT a person's shadow. It can't be.

::runs and throws dvd in and flips to the sceen and watches it:: it's probibly an error or something, and they didn't spot it during editing. that's like in the first LOTR movie in one of the sceens in the field after they leave the shire you can see a car driving on a road behind them really brefly in the backround

i watched PoA again last night and i spotted it too!
it lookd like crookshanks but it sortof disappear into the wall, i thought maybe it was one of the ghost, but it's sure scary!
i'll try to capture the image when i have the time

that sounds so cool! i have to check it out! if its a real ghost, then its job is to look after the movie and assure that nothing goes wrong! if its something thats supposed to be in the movie, then cool, like an easter egg!
