| Wasn't POA...... I had to buy it myself. lol
I just watched it, and I think it's just a glitch. It does seem orange, but it's almost invisble so it doesn't make any sense. It doesn't seem to have any legs either... please no cussing in here. even if it changes to asterics [*'s]. thanks.

| I watched it in both slo-mo and in normal speed. I'm pretty sure it's just a reflection of a light. For example if you are in a dark room and a car goes by on the road outside you may see a light travel across the wall. I think it has to do with the camera because if you watch closely, the camera is also moving at nearly the same rate so I think it's a reflection of light off of their filming equipment. |

| I did spot that in the theatre, the second time I saw PoA. I was the only one in my group who saw it, but I couldn't figure it out. I just thought it was the FX guys having fun |

| I have a hi-def tv and I couldn't tell if it was anything but a reflection of light, i think if it was meant to be anything it would have been a little more easily distinguished. |

| We all have that glitch.
It's probably a reflection of the light or something like that, as someone mentionned earlier. |

| It's too light to be crookshanks. Cuz if that were to be him...then they'd be portraying the cat as a ghost. But here's anutha thing I noticed...during the Care of Magical creatures lesson...does anybody else notice that Buckbeak takes a number 2 while Hagrid is explaining things about Hippogriff's? lol I caught it last nite cuz I heard something extra...i hit rewind and was like EWWWWWW was that really needed? lol |

| Some of you said it looks like an orange, ghost cat. Well, Crookshanks is part kneazle..I wonder, does this mean something? We don't know a lot about Kneazles, do we? I mean, in the book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, it doesn't say much about it either...just description and some facts...
I'm going to look at the DVD right now and check it out. I'll finish this when I've finished trying to solve this little mystery...
After looking at the DVD and seeing exactly what you meant...I think that it is Crookshanks. If my suspicions are correct, I think there is something going on with Crookshanks that we might need to know about in the future.
Recap: Orange colored "cat-ghost" comes across hallway and disappears into the other wall (but you can still see it!).
Hmm...I think that this is Crookshanks. If not, the firelight from the torch outside the hallway could've been making a ghost-animal-thing turn that color....Hmm...

| the weird light is the flames in the braizer in the hall reflecting off the camera lense as the camera pans the scene for a wideangle scope shot. If you play the scene in slo-mo and zoom in you will see that the "top" of the light is flat and the "bottom" is wiggling. The camera will reflect back the light upside down like a mirror reflecting backwards because the lense in a convex shape. (it slightly bulges out like a fish eye) |

I was like ummm ewww... I think they were just trying to make it look more real I guess... The ghost thing: I've seen it but I don't know really what to say. It looks like a cat or something small. I don't really know... I am going to go watch it over to see if I can see anything different. |

| That orange that can't be Crookshanks. What would the signifigance be? It's not in the book that a ghosty orange thing goes by the great hall...and obviously played no role in the movie. It's just a dark/light effect. *goin back to the buckbeak scene* UGH!!! Nasty! |
