I like both equally much, but they have their up's and down's.
Why I like the books:
1. You have the oppurtunity to imagine what the castle looks like, what Hogsmeade looks like etc.
2. You have alot more details since you don't really have a limit to the amount you can write.
Why I like the films:
1. If you're more of a visual person (like me) you have the castle for example, made for you so you actually know what it looks like.
2. You get more realism in there, as well as more emotions.
3. If you don't have the time or will to read the books, you could just spend about 2 hrs to watch the film for some knowledge about the story.
I have to say, that I'd probably say the films over the books, because you get that realism and you can relate a little better to the people and actually feel what they're feeling... Sorta...

while the movies are extremely EPIC the books tell the tale as it is, the movie leave out things that could have made them better

I have to say the book on this one.
Firstly, the films leave out important things.
You can let your imagination let loose, when reading the books. You get the opportunity to imagine what the characters, castle, places, etc. in your mind.
The books are just better, because you get to read how the author; JK Rowling, describes the wizarding world.

I prefer the books. When I watch the movies I feel like someone is showing me/telling me what happened, but when Im reading the books, it feels like Im there, next to Harry.

| I like the books because:- I love reading books.
- The books are full of detail.
- It lets you imagine.
I also like the movies because:- It is realistic. It brings things to life.
- It lets you see things you weren't able to imagine while you were reading the books.
So, books, definitely. |

Although I ultimately adore the actors and actresses of the Harry Potter films, I like the books better.
1. There is much more to the books and they describe the story better
2. Some things you just don't understand unless you've read the books
3. I read constantly, so...
4. They don't cut your favorite scenes out of the books
5. Some people that were important to the books and have very good parts in the books were not much apart of the movies, (Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin for instance...)

I prefer the books. The movies cut out and revise information and scenes. There are also certain inconsistencies in them that bother me.
There's so much more to imagine in the books. You can get a real feel of the characters and places and events. Feel them and construct them in your own head. Not to mention, you can read a book anytime - in the bus or under a blanket or at the back of a classroom.
And the smell of new AND old books... it just adds to the charm of reading. :3

I prefer the books because the detail is incredible. The movies are great, of course, but they will never beat the books.

I prefer the books. J.K. Rowling is genius. We learn a lot more about the characters and who they are, their pasts etc, much more interesting to read the books.

I like both but I love the visuals that the movies gives me. Plus I get to look at the fabulous Alan Rickman in the movies! |

I chose The Harry Potter books cause I'm more of a reader than a watcher of films and I always find there is more detail in books so I can always imagine the storylines in my head |
