I once went to a Harry Potter themed party, I found it really fun! I haven’t been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios yet but I’d like to do that someday as well.

AceOfHallows 02-01-2019 01:33 AM

Even though I have all of the Harry Potter movies on DVD, I always insist on watching the movies when they come on TV. This happens every time there's a marathon on. I can't get enough of it.

Harry4emma 02-11-2019 12:37 AM

I would really love to see the Harry Potter studio or the universal studios those poll choices are all really good

abstract 02-11-2019 09:25 PM

I haven't been to the Wizarding World at Universal yet, but I have a trip planned later in the year! I'm so so stoked. I've been to a HP themed Halloween party, as well as reading the books and discussing them in a book club. c:

Loopy luna 02-18-2019 07:53 PM

Mine was having a Harry Potter movie night with friends

AnnWa 02-20-2019 09:36 AM

Having a good time with friends during watching HP movies is the best one.

Student of Dumbledor 02-28-2019 11:50 PM

I just love reading and watching harry potter.

AccioWU 03-01-2019 02:42 PM

There aren't many Wizarding World experiences in my area, so I mostly rely on the internet for them. I did visit filming locations in Oxford and loved the great hall (the London tour didn't exist back then). Next time I have a little time off I'll head on over to Porto's bookstore where they also filmed. And hopefully I'll be able to go to the London tour on my next visit :D

Fireheart 03-20-2019 08:31 PM

My favorite has to be the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Nothing is quite as magical! I remember my jaw just dropping as soon as I walked through the Hogsmeade gates during my first visit. They truly outdid themselves. From the restaurants to the employee costumes to the music, everything makes you feel like you've jumped into the books. I just purchased a Universal Annual Pass, so I'm looking forward to spending more magical moments in the park in the months to come.

AccioMarauders 04-01-2019 12:25 AM

I went to a bunch of the book launches and they were tons of fun ... also movie marathons!!

Emzeer 04-05-2019 09:44 PM

The studio tour, I've been twice and I'm desperate to go again!

gritandgrace 04-14-2019 01:55 AM

I've never been to the studios (yet!), but I love the trivia nights!

harleysJoker1 04-17-2019 02:59 AM

i go to trivia nite or host them all the time and they are so much fun

Nosilla 04-17-2019 03:14 AM

Where I'm from there is a small mountain town about three hours away. Every year in September they turn it into the Wizarding World with chocolate frogs, butterbeer, music, Quidditch and even the Founders show up! Its super awesome! I cant wait to go back!!!

Riverz 04-20-2019 09:56 PM

My favorite experience was having Harry Potter club in school as a kid.

SneakySeverusSnape 04-22-2019 02:30 AM

Mine is The Harry Potter Studio Tour. I was going to go there this year but it got cancelled!

Felix_Felicis 04-26-2019 11:35 PM

Marathoning all of the movies before the release of a new Fantastic Beasts is currently the thing that I most look forward to. I really want to do it at a cinema instead of at home to see if that experience is even more exciting.

I also really want to be able to go to Universal Studios but it's so far away. I'll get there some day!

Alavander 05-26-2019 07:54 PM

Loved going to the studios in London. Seeing all the props, the Hogwarts model at the end, trying butterbeer... actually, the butterbeer was horrid...

Slytherin Fox 05-27-2019 10:53 AM

Discussing the books and watching films with another obsessed friend (we should plan something big soon!)

mjknight 06-25-2019 10:13 PM

I have to say that I have a special place in my heart for those midnight book premiere parties they used to have at the bookstores. I attended parties for books 5, 6, and 7, which were a blast. I actually volunteered to dress up and host games/events for the premieres of books 6 and 7, and that was even more fun! You get to really know the staff at your local bookshops this way, and it was a fun way to meet other Potterheads.

It's still on my bucket list to visit Universal's Harry Potter theme park though! I think it would be neat to plan a vacation set in the UK as well, involving tours of the HP Studio, and other locations where the movies were filmed or that served as inspiration for the books.

sourpatchkid 07-06-2019 04:46 AM

I used to go merch hunting with my friend who I worked with. We would meet in the parking lot and carpool to places that sold Harry Potter merch, the weirder or more obscure, the better. I also went to a Harry Potter night with my friends and got fun pictures of us together. There was a drink at Starbucks that was Harry Potter themed, and that was absolutely delicious

AbbiMarigold 07-13-2019 09:25 PM

I just love seeing everyones creations, have you ever type harry potter in etsy? Xd xxxx

HouserHouseCreations 07-16-2019 10:37 PM

All my Harry Potter experiences have been amazing - so hard to really choose.

RedRabbit 08-13-2019 01:24 AM

A good way to cheer me up has always been a Harry Potter movie marathon. A few years back I got really sick and had to spend a few weeks in the hospital. I was at a special hospital that was far from home so I was very lonely and bored. So when my family and friends asked what I would like them to bring me I was so happy when they brought me my Harry Potter movies. Between watching Harry Potter and episodes of Friends I was able to recover and go home.

OnyxRaizel 08-17-2019 03:36 AM

I loved going to the book releases because everyone there liked the same book series as me.

KCSpector 08-17-2019 08:29 PM

When I was a university student, the student union building was turned into Hogwarts for the night and I loved it. There were jeopardy questions about the books, potions you could put together from different drinks/candy, etc. From what I hear, it's happened a couple of times since I graduated, and I think that's awesome.

love-for-HP 08-20-2019 05:42 PM

HP marathons are always enjoyable!! Though I don't like watching them on Freeform/ABC Family since the movies are already long enough with out all the commercials

Freyr 08-26-2019 02:29 PM

I love having Harry Potter movie marathons with my friends, we feel the same feelings when we watched them for the first time.

QuaterBloodPrince 08-27-2019 01:20 PM

The movie marathon in the company of other fans is the most unforgettable event for me.

malfoygrl 08-30-2019 08:01 PM

The Studio tour in London is amazing! I had so much fun looking at the costumes and props. Next stop is Universal!

Lord Al 09-06-2019 07:29 PM

Well I’ve only managed to get to universal in Florida so I suppose that’s my only frame of reference. And I’d struggle to see how anything else could top that

The Other Potter 09-21-2019 01:08 AM

I got to see the cursed child and that was amazing.

InsaneGenius 09-29-2019 05:15 PM

movie rewatch marathons with friends.

Sioween 10-09-2019 07:49 PM

Movie re-watch marathons.

LiaBia 10-15-2019 09:39 PM

I love re-watching the movies, and I haven't gotten to go to Universal yet but I know I would love that as well. I went to the Cursed Child midnight release with my aunt and uncle and it was really fun!

Lord Evansiline 10-17-2019 06:35 PM

Watching the movies when they come on. I'm a movie junky.

EveT1991 11-03-2019 02:34 PM

Harry Potter Studio Tour is amazing. Alnwick Castle is good as well where they filmed some of the first film and so is Durham Cathedral

MLTiger 11-27-2019 08:02 PM

Would love to go see HP in concert <3 but as for now I haven't had that many experiences, other than watching the movies now and then and re-reading the books and dressing up as Bellatrix, but all I had was a stick for a wand, black clothes and my moms curly wig that was too short.

Sunflower 12-11-2019 09:17 AM

My favourite experience is visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. I went to the one in Japan a few years ago and loved everything. It made me feel like a true Potterhead at last.

I would love to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour and try a movie re-watch marathon when I have time.

doodledog&hermione 12-14-2019 07:50 AM

I once send an email to J.K Rowling . I asked her if I can have a interview with her. She still didn't answer me, but I am fine.

Melanddonny 12-15-2019 11:24 PM

Universal Studios is so awesome!!!!

Egg Mint 12-19-2019 01:26 AM

We have a Wizarding World in Osaka's Universal Studios and even though I was among a veritable horde of visitors, it was still cool.

Marthann 12-20-2019 04:24 AM

Went to a Harry potters book opening.

LadyNerd 12-30-2019 12:05 AM

Starting to re-read the books with my 11 year old. FUN TIMES!

Zakarim 12-30-2019 01:44 AM

Loved Universal Studios!!!

evannah 02-12-2020 11:53 PM

Watching Deathly Hallows pt2 premiere in 2011. It was soooo emotional, knowing that it is the end of so many years of waiting to see the latest movies :D

raystark 02-19-2020 12:45 AM

Reading the books or watching the movies

HuffPuff846567 02-21-2020 01:01 AM

Visiting Leavesden Studios in late 2012 during the evening, a magical experience

HogwartsVaults 02-21-2020 05:54 PM

Hey Potterheads!

This is so cool!
i love going to the red carpet events, meeting up wih other fans and meeting the cast members, they're so lovely.

i adore my forever growing prop replica collection, I've recently passed over the 55th line of my signed wands

Judy di 02-27-2020 11:26 PM

I have been to universal studios in Japan and experienced the wizarding world of harry potter, which was a great experience. I believe you will also have the chance to become a magician in Hogwarts school.

RebelSongs 03-07-2020 01:14 AM

I haven’t had much of a chance to get involved with any HP events, but rest assured that going to the Wizarding World attraction in Orlando is most definitely on my bucket list.

J.laur5 03-10-2020 11:48 AM

I love to visit Harry Potter theme park one.

alimakocnalb 03-15-2020 11:49 AM

I cried the 1st time I went to the Wizarding World at Universal, this was back in 2015. I also had the annual pass in 2017. Besides that, I enjoy re-reading the books and re-watching the movies at home with my hubby.

BlibberingHumdingerI 03-25-2020 12:30 PM

There was nothing that could ever compare to the feeling of queuing at midnight and rushing home to get cracking on a book! <3

JasmineHere 03-30-2020 11:10 PM

Meeting Tom Felton in real life as part of the last movie events. As a Slytherin, he's Draco Malfoy!!! As an HP fan, I've always loved how humble and sweet he was so meeting and seeing him in real life was just mind-blowing

luna_star21 03-31-2020 08:07 PM

In grade 8, I went to the midnight premier of Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and my two friends at the time and I dressed up with our time turners, made headbands with the sorting hat on it and were so excited. When the movie ended, all three of us had tears falling because it was so beautiful and I just remember it being such an unforgettable night.

Dudley 04-01-2020 04:38 PM

never had one

bloomsbloomsi 04-06-2020 02:21 AM

It’s so hard to choose- I’ve been to Harry Potter world in Orlando and loved it but I also just recently went on the Harry Potter studio tour where they were having an exhibit on the goblet of fire and I thought that was really cool- tbh anything Harry Potter related is just magical

Honeychunks 04-10-2020 01:38 PM

The marathons!! it never feels boring and gets more fun every time

GardenWitch 04-14-2020 08:39 PM

When I was a child, "playing" HP with friends (wands, classes, forbidden forest, etc.)

Gib 04-15-2020 07:38 AM

My best one so far has been when I went to the Deathly Hallows book release and there was an amazing HP themed party throughout the entire store. Everyone was dressed up and we made our own wands and there were prizes given out. It was amazing, it’s something I’ll never forget!

SiriusRex 04-15-2020 03:26 PM

The movies

I have all of the Harry Potter movies on DVD... but watching them on tv is still thrilling.... This happens every time there's a marathon on. So many great moments, and things not noticed before.... Still think Luna steals every scene.

bookiebee 04-16-2020 02:52 AM

I went to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios mere days before Alan Rickman passed away. Because of Harry Potter, he became one of my all-time favorite actors. The only reason I like Snape is because Alan played him. I even bought Snape's wand when I was there. I went with my mom, sister, and her husband and son. It was just such a special day and one of the best of my life. :snape:

lumosolem 04-23-2020 09:42 PM

I didn't get to experience the midnight book releases (both because I'm sure they didn't happen where I'm from and because DH came out when I was 11), but there's something so magical and beautiful about people gathering for a book. It blows my mind that it was an actual thing that happened. I wish I could've experienced one myself!

macaroni 04-24-2020 05:44 PM

The book launches for sure. I went to two bookstore events for the Cursed Child release, one before to hype up the book, and one on the night the book was released. I remember drinking a Butterbeer latte that was delicious and going to the event with my friends.

BrotherDoobie 04-25-2020 02:53 PM

Definitely movie marathons. I can watch the movies over and over again.

keepmeclose22 04-26-2020 02:41 AM

I really really love Muggle Quidditch. I played two years of it in college and it was a lot of fun! I was a Beater both years, and it is so much fun to play!!

Seraph 04-26-2020 06:20 AM

The studio tour seems amazing! I really want to go on it one day

Caseyknole20 04-29-2020 03:01 PM

I once watched five harry porter movies non-stop from Sunday afternoon. It was quite interesting, especially due to the chronology of events.

pottermomrocks 04-30-2020 06:04 PM

My favorite Harry Potter experience so far was visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando.

Midnight Marauder 05-05-2020 07:36 AM

I really love going through the movies and books after a while and re-experiencing everything. It's also fun to try and introduce them to family and friends.

KaliGld 05-06-2020 08:50 AM

My favourite wizard inspired experience was going to visit platform 9 and 3/4 in kings cross London!

Payton Granger 05-21-2020 03:17 PM

Universal Studios was fabulous. I thought it wouldn't be true once I got there, but everything was just like I imagined. The Hogwarts castle was amazing and Hogsmead and Diagon Alley were astonishing with every detail.

GreyMagic 06-05-2020 09:45 AM

Items I’ve collected over the years from the Wizarding World and the joy I get out of being able to use them. Probably my complete Slytherin outfit and items from the Noble Collection are my favourites. Oh and can’t forget the movie marathons (that I own) my most recent one was when Sky was showing Harry Potter non stop a few weeks ago.

Warlock 06-07-2020 04:50 AM

Book launches were my favorite experience, I would have to say. I've gone to quite a few Harry Potter themed parties--I myself threw one.
They can be a lot of fun, and it's always great when you get to chat with someone that actually knows the books, that knows the story.

nausea 06-28-2020 06:08 AM

Loooooved the midnight book release parties! No one in my group of friends loved the books as much as I did, so I'd always drag a friend with me. It never failed--they always ended up loving it! I'd dress up, or I'd draw a lightening bolt on my forehead with eyeliner. We'd stand in line waiting waiting waiting... then I'd rush home and devour the book in one night!

Ah, memories!

aldritch 07-12-2020 04:12 PM

Universal is sooo fun. My girlfriend and I went on our first date there, and we plan on going back in full Hogwarts uniforms when we can! The shops are sooo cute, and I can never pass up the chance to go on the one ride in the castle, even though I get wildly motion sick and once lost a flip-flop on it.

I've also always wanted to have a House-themed party specifically, with color-coded snacks and games meant to win your house points, and a prize at the end of the night for whoever's house won! Never got the chance to actually do it, but I'd love to someday.

astrocat 07-20-2020 08:33 PM

Watching the movies at a sleepover.

amethystrose 07-29-2020 06:11 AM

My most magical experience was my first midnight book release party, which was for Order of the Phoenix.

My mom and dad had preordered the book, and I was looking forward to getting it the day it came out. However, they found out that our small-town bookstore was doing a Midnight Release Party, which was kind of unusual for my town. They asked if I wanted to go, and my answer was obviously, "Yes!"

The bookstore was in a plaza, and the whole parking lot was full of attendees. I had dressed up like Hermione - thankfully my Halloween costume from the year before still fit. There was a wand making station, a butterbeer station, a "herbology" station where we planted seeds in a small pot, and a trivia contest (which I lost...).

I was 10 years old, and I stayed up all night reading after I got my book at midnight.

Lucifera 08-05-2020 12:56 AM

I like surprises best. There was one event randomly in Indonesia with everyone wearing HP robes. People are weird and random and that entertains me.

Ravan 08-06-2020 11:30 PM

I like that Harry Potter can bring so many generations of people together. I was introduced to the books by a mother figure in my life a few months after the sorcerers stone was released. I took my son the the deathly hallows midnight release when he was a few months old, and a few years ago he celebrated his 11th birthday with a huge Harry Potter party.

Madame_Tonks 08-12-2020 02:01 AM

I look forward to going to the Wizarding World in Universal Studios one day soon. Crossing fingers! I'd also love to attend a movie premiere for any of the new Fantastic Beasts movies, that would take some serious magic!

Aims 09-24-2020 09:56 PM

I met my internet best friend for the first time properly the day we went to the studio tours together

Beatrice Wolfe 09-28-2020 02:04 PM

almost every time it is my movie night, i watch either harry potter 2 or deathly hallows 2.
my family is bored of it but i just watch them alone i'm fine with that. no distractions.

FrozenFire 10-02-2020 12:58 AM

I'm all about the movie marathons on TV. True, I have all of the HP movies on DVD, but I never miss them when they're on the television. I'm addicted. Lol!

alendrew11 10-03-2020 12:08 PM

I like to watch Harry potter dark night mode at home when I am sitting alone and also love reading Harry potter Books as well..

blueberrymuffin 10-07-2020 09:12 PM

The book launches. It's so exciting to be in a room of other people who love the novels, and love dressing up and reading. One of the book launches was in a coffee shop/book store and they even had a Starbucks drink marketed around the launch. The drink was delicious by the way :)

PulsingAura 10-08-2020 11:03 PM

Went to the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Hollywood a few years ago. Such a cute place with lots of fun details (and I loved the pumpkin juice). Would like to someday visit the Universal Studios in Orlando and experience the Diagon Alley section of the park.

MaisieTheMagical 10-09-2020 06:50 PM

My favorite experience is visiting both parks in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Its a completely immersive experience. My favorite park is Diagon Alley. When you walk into the park through the brick walls in combination with the sound effects make me feel butterflies in my stomach and the architecture there is breathtaking and truly magical!

S.P.E.W. Matters 10-10-2020 12:37 AM

I have only been 1 time in my life to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was out of this world. Not only the rides, but the whole experience of buying a wand and using it to make this move in the windows to the food and drink.

Alatar 10-10-2020 06:50 AM

my fav experience is the audio book of goblet of fire read by Stephen fry, really good to listen to especially his character voices

swimdude2113 10-13-2020 06:57 PM

My first experience at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal was marvelous, and I can't wait to share that experience with my wife, and one day, my kids!

Tippetarius 10-15-2020 04:26 PM

Hi, everyone! I'm new here!

And I guess my favorite Wizarding World experience is when I first saw The Order of the Phoenix at the theatre. I hadn't really read any of the books up to that point, and the only movie I'd seen (Sorcerer's Stone) I'm pretty sure I only watched on VHS at home. So Order of the Pheonix could be seen as my first "real" Wizarding World experience, even though I didn't end up fully getting into it until several years later.

And I have to say, for someone who hadn't read the book the movie was based on, or any of the previous ones, I seem to recall having a decent grasp on what was going on in the story. That might be why Order of the Phoenix remains one of my favorite films and why I think it's one of the better adaptations.

I was also really happy when I was sorted as a Thunderbird at Ilvermorny. I almost began to sympathize with Albus Potter after I got sorted into Gryffindor despite not really feeling like I belonged there, so I was really worried about taking the quiz for Ilvermorny's sorting, since I knew I wouldn't be able to change the outcome.

AnnAlisaWinter 10-19-2020 11:36 PM

My favorite potter experiences

The midnight book launches were very magical. We would cosplay our characters, play games, pretend to duel, and just have fun surrounded by a community of folks doing the same thing. I really needed to feel like I belonged to something at that point in my life. The Harry and the Potters concerts were a boatload of fun as well. I still have the cds and T shirts signed somewhere. Universal Studios was an epic experience. I really liked Diagon Alley.

chloe16 10-29-2020 03:32 PM

World of Harry Potter at universal studios is a must !

RaytheCrow 11-28-2020 05:18 PM

My holiday go to is a HP movie marathon with my love. Its such a magical moment to share something so important with someone almost as important. Haha jk

NiallNIP 12-09-2020 04:09 AM

The Wizarding World at Universal Studios will always and forever be my favorite!!! I've been lucky enough to have visited several times and every time i have a blast, especially when I took a trip with my friends there in middle school!

clairezabini 12-17-2020 02:12 AM

I love the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal. I even had an annual pass and would go multiple times per year because I loved it so much!

burnbook 12-22-2020 04:23 AM

Wizard Rock. During the height of Harry Potter's mainstream popularity, people made Harry Potter themed bands and released music. The songs were really good, and it was exciting when I came across the music on YouTube.
