Actually, I just wanted to correct something with regards to starting a Fan Fic. As Becky said, you go to Gringotts and then look under the different categories to find the type that you think yours falls under best. (i.e. poetry, character-specific, comedy, epic & adventure, romance, fandom cross over, etc). Read the rules about starting a FanFic.
And then once you know where to post and about starting one, then you may post a thread in the designated area.
A FF mod will need to approve it (as Becky said), but it may not take a week. It could take 1-2 days, or it may take a week. Much of it depends on the nature of the FF, as well as if the mod is approving fics at that time | |

It might be because your avatar is over 80x80 pixels. As a Newbie, that's the maximum capacity for your avatar. When you've been moved to the Member usergroup (after you've made 10 legitimate, non-spam posts), then your avatar may be 100x100 pixels, under 15.5 kb. Also, be sure that your avatar is either saved on your hard drive or on an image hosting website like Photobucket

Though as Becky said, just get two more posts, and then you'll definitely be able to, once you're moved into the member group. =)
