Once it's the end of the school term, yes of course you may. It might make it more confusing if you're sticking with the same character, and you might have to explain to other charries and/or people you are RPing with.

But not during a school term

Also I want to make a note here. As Touzie said in the first post this question should really be here in the Prefect's Office. This thread is for newbies, and since you are sorted and have more then 10 posts being a full member, this isn't the place you should post questions. As well as this thread is for site questions, not RP and school questions.

Hello and welcome to SS!

After ten posts here in the Newbie Forum, I believe you are granted access to many other forums. In order to be formally admitted into Hogwarts, you have to take the sorting quiz which will open in a few months seeing as a term has just started. However, you can apply for a job in the Ministry of Magic right now after you become a member.

In order to gain the status of a member, you must make ten legitimate posts in this forum, and your name will turn a light blue. The tag under your name will change as well, however, this might not happen instantly so don't freak out when you post ten times and not change at all.

Okay, first things first, what you just did (posting four times in a row here) is known as spamming and it is not how you get out of the Newbie Forum. This thread is for QUESTIONS only and it is not where you can chat to others.

As an answer to your first question, you do not post all ten posts here in this thread. There are many other threads you can post in within the Newbie Forum. I suggest you read this to help you start off.

As an answer to your second question, you do not get sorted after each term. if you ever wish to switch houses, you may retake the sorting quiz, however, you must follow the guidelines and make sure you are legible to be resorted. One of the requirements is participation in at least seven terms.

Hey there! Welcome!

Well, mainly because it's related to the School RPG. If the sorting hat quiz was available all the time, then there would be people constantly joining the School RPG mid-term or something and that's just not very canon and highly confusing for everybody. So the sorting coincides with the IC (in-character) summer breaks in the School RPG.

SS has users from all around the world with varying levels of English ability, so of course it isn't a problem! We are a very friendly and understanding community here, so you have very little to be worried about. You can find your post count under your username where also your location is written , currently you have 12 posts made.

To answer you second question. No,the 10 post rule is so people can understand the rules of the side and if followed correctly they become a *member*. Your status will change in an hour or so

As for the sorting quiz, the quiz is not available at the moment because the school RP is currently in session. The next sorting will be open on 12th April.

There is a Ministry sorting at the moment right here but i heard that sorting will close some time today or tomorrow. so if you become a member soon and are fast with applying without breaking the site rules you can still RP in the ministry

Good question

Say if you post in a thread in continuous multiple posts, that will be counted as a Spam. But if you post a lot in one thread and which they are worthwhile, that will be fine. The original post for the definition of Spam is this:

Tegz: In addition I'd like to point out that as a newbie, your posts get deleted and you will return to newbie status as we require ten, rule-following 'legitimate' posts, in order to 'graduate' to member status. Aside from the site rules and FAQ which you should familiarise yourself with, please also read the first post of each thread thoroughly as that will tell you what is expected of you in regards to posting in that thread. There are 12 threads other than this one in the newbie platform forum, so there should be no problem making your ten posts as per the rules.

Welcome to SS and to answer your question the sorting will be held around the 12th of April since we just had the sorting in December and the ministry sorting just got closed so it will be a few weeks after the school sorting in april or early may

It has been a pretty long time since i joined but from what i remembered you DON'T get a heads up. After you made 10 or more legit posts you will automatically go from newbie to member. (it may take an hour for the site to change your status though, so no worries if it doesn't work immediately)

That depends, at newbie level your post is simply deleted with an edit reason by a moderator that will say why your post was removed. Once you are a member however, you're expected to follow the site rules, which is why we have the newbie platform for getting the hang of things. In some cases you may be simply PM'd about a deleted post (for instance if you accidentally double post one time), or given a heads up if something in your post content is borderline (by which I mean it doesn't quiiiite break the rules but is still enough to make people uncomfortable or may lead into rule breaking if people reply) , but generally if the post breaks rules it will result in a warning. You can read more about the warning system here.

The thing about warnings is that they are ONLY warnings. We record them so that you don't end up having a whole lot of mods jumping down your throat for the same reason (so to speak!). Its a way of us being able to communicate with one another so that if a person continues to break a rule we know they've been told about it and directed to the rules in question and are therefore knowingly breaking them instead of doing it accidentally, in which case infractions are issued.

Warnings and moderation are our way of making sure SS is a safe environment for everyone, and overall it ensures that our community remains top notch and keeps people coming back.

No. Everyone has to make their ten posts. You can post in this forum or in the news forum though, so there's absolutely no reason it should be a problem. It doesn't take very long to make posts and follow the rules. Welcome to SS.
