Personally, I saw the movies first. I never thought I'd read the books. I was one of those advanced readers who just didn't see a point in going "back" to children's books. I didn't discredit Harry Potter, however. I figured it was a nice change - Kids reading! I even had a chance to meet JK and just didn't care. A year later, I read OotP and was hooked and kicked myself, several times, for not taking the opportunity when it knocked.

OotP gave me a chance to see a more mature setting for the trio and I even cried when Sirius died, even though I really didn't know much about him at that time. I connected to the characters and was drawn in.

for me, when i was visiting an island called curacao, my mom was reading the sixth book and i asked to read it with her. i loved it! even though i had absolutely no idea of what was happening * having not read the others *, it made it all the more interesting. then when i got home i read thfirst five to help the story and plot line make more sense.

The first book came out when I was in third grade. I really did not like reading, but despite that I decided to pick up a copy of this new hit book from my school's library. There was a long waiting list so I figured it must be good. Thought I hate to admit it now, I didn't even get through the first chapter before I decided it was boring.

A few years later when I was in 5th grade, the third book was coming out. For some reason [I don't know why] I decided to give this one a shot. This book sucked me in and turned me into a huge bookworm. It was so well written, and the characterization is great... I couldn't NOT love it. The third book will always be very special for me, seeing as it worked as a catalyst. The Harry Potter series has played a large role in my life, and its all thanks to PoA being so dang addictive.

I watched the first 4 movies before even picking up the books. Mainly because I always hated reading books when in school. Now I am hooked, I read them every few weeks. It's like escaping reality.

I was about 10 years old when the 1st movie came out. Everybody was speaking about it but I didn't really care. One night my mom came with a magazinne with 3 pages full of Harry Potter. The next day we went to see the movie. I loved and started reading the books (I had had already tried to read the first book when I was 9 eyars old but gave up)

I love it because it's so cool. I've always loved magic. I saw the movies first, and I was hooked. My friends convinced me to read the books, and I'm so glad they did. I still watch teh movies from time to time, but it doesn't go by the books that much. The actors are really hot, though

I got into Harry Potter through my younger sister, My mum bought her the first book when it came out but she didn't read it. I have always been an avid reader and read it in one day and I was hooked. I have bought every book the day it has come out and I have watched every film as soon as it has come out in the Cinema.

I love it because it is really well written. The films are great though sometimes frustrating when they miss large chunks of the story line out.

I had seen the first three movies (or heard them recited to me scene by scene by my younger cousins) before ever even picking up one of the books. Our family was going on a long road trip through Arizona, Utah, and Nevada so my dad took us to the Barnes and Noble to get a book. I picked up Sorcerer's Stone and I've been hooked ever since!

My mom is an avid reader and she was trying to get me to read books, so in 2000 she bought me Philoshper's Stone and after 3 weeks of refusing to read it, on one summer afternoon i got back from the beach really tired and started reading it and got hooked! Then i believe 1 year or 2 years later, the movie came out and I was so happy and excited!! After reading Philosopher Stone I got interested in reading books and writing my own fanfics!

I saw it on tv first. It was the Philosepher's Stone I saw and I loved the movie I just wanted to read the books. After I did I practically fell in love with it.

I started reading when I was about 8 or 9 after my mum told me about the series, and it sounded interesting. She now wishes she hadn't as it's all I talk about!

I love the world of harry potter because i always thought witchcraft was fascinating and when i saw the first movie, it was like seeing it all happen for the first time. It sounds pretty corny but i actually got really into it. I lvoed their world because you could make things diappear, you could fly on a bropom if you wanted. It was so cool.

Me mam gave me the 'bug' and I gave them I shot. Then, after reading the first chapter of the first book, got sucked in to the world of harry potter, where magic is real and I like reading about all the adventures that harry has.

My Fave part in my fave book would have to be the last book where........ well I wont be a spoiler., so shussshhh but its a big thing that happens near the end

Hmm... I just love the creativity and imagination in the books. J.K Rowling did a great job.

I got into it when I was around.. 8 or 9 years old and my brother and sister were reading Harry Potter. My sister had just read the first book and said it was really good. I was curious about the book so I decided to read it. I got hooked on it right away

What would we do without J.K. Rowling and her creation of Harry Potter?
