New fanfics need to be approved by mods. And, even though we might hate it sometimes, real life sometimes makes it hard for mods to approve them quickly. Please, be patient. I'm sure that once they've got the time, a mod will approve your FF.

It can take a day or two. It's not automatically, admins sort members manually. Remember that Sorting starts on May 12th.

It's not a stupid question. It took me a while to learn this myself .

Near the top of each page is a handy navigation bar that has several links (User CP, Rules and FAQ, Search, Quick Links, Log Out). It also tells you when you last visited, what part of the site you are on, etc. Click on the link marked "User CP."

Once there, along the left hand side is a column with "Control Panel" at the top. Scroll down until you can see "Group Memberships," under the "Miscellaneous" section. Click on "Group Memberships." Finally, apply to the clubs you wish to join.

You need to be a member to be sorted, which judging that you have 10 posts - you should be one shortly.
Sorting will reopen on May 12th, whereas you will complete a questionnaire and based on that, admins sort you. Until then, enjoy the rest of the site and you may wish to consider joining the Ministry RP while you wait =)

Pretty neat site... how long after you complete the questionnaire do you usually get sorted?

Not long, it really depends, its takes perhaps few hours,maybe the next day the day after that,for me it was pretty quick ..

Why exactly do you have to have ten posts? Like, anyone could quickly post something on all the threads they can find, and then never show up again.

Because that way new members can get to know the rules and familiarize with the site before venturing out. We (the mods) are constantly monitoring the forum and deleting any posts that doesn't follow the rules. So unless they made 10+ legit posts, they won't be able to post on other areas of the site.

okay i was trying to change my siggie and everytime i hit save, it came up saying that it couldn't be more than 50 characters even when it's only like 30. and i see other people's siggies that have more than 50. what am i supposed to do???

Just go to the Submit Your Signature Here thread and using the template, post exactly what you want your siggy to look like, even if it's just words. A mod will put it for you. remember to read the rules on the first post.

May the 12th you will get sorted. Yes you take a quiz and the admins sort you out. You get a wand by doing a quiz in Diagon Alley before the term starts.
You can choose your own Avatar from file or link, below from the avatars already there.

You may want to Graduate but no you don't need to Graduate to add more to your profile.

Once you are sorted you will be able to go to Ollivander's Wand Shop in Diagon Alley (in the School RP area) and take a quiz to get a wand. It's easy, you will have the link to get to Diagon Alley once you are sorted.

The sorting occurs every three months, and once one begins (the next is 5/12) links will appear at the top of every forum. There should be a link to the sorting. You take the quiz, and a few days later, you'll get a PM telling you what house you're in.

The answer to the first question is simple, anywhere on the site! Might I suggest St. Mungo's is a fun place to get to know new people, as well as the various fan clubs (lots to choose from here!) You can also play games at Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes, or there are areas where you can discuss all aspects of the books and movies. You can also join the Ministry and other RPs (Knockturn Alley) right now, even before you are sorted. The sky is truly the limit! I am sure you will find plenty to do here and make lots of new friends.

To put a picture of yourself where the avatar is, simply save it in your picture file, then click on "My profile" and the part that says "Edit Avatar". You will be able to upload your picture as a file from your computer, just make sure that it meets the size requirement of 100x100 pixels.
