it's so that newbies can get the idea of how the site works. there is a newbie status probably because of the same reason to get used to the site. i hope that answers your question, i wasn't exactly sure about your second question, so...

Hey Im new on the site and i was just wondering.. If you dont get on the site for a while, say 2 or 3 weeks do you get kicked off or expelled or something because it depends on where am at if i have the internet or not so i was just wondering.

No, there's nothing to worry about if you're away for a while. Accounts generally don't get deleted, and the only reason you'd ever get kicked off or expelled is if you severely break the rules.

The first forum that I went to in my first visit is 'Newbies of the month'. Congrats to all those who have been selected! I'm wondering is it base on how much they know about the rules or are there any other criteria to be selected?

They are chosen not only by their knowledge of the rules, but by following them, making clear posts and helping other new members.

You'll know once your username changes color and the icon below it will change to the house you have been sorted into. You'll also recieve a PM with info about the school RP. Be patient. Sorting is done manually. It can take up to 24 hours to be sorted.

Tags are those titles that appear below the username. Like me, I have three, including Spanish Language Mod. They can be official or just for fun.

I'm not sure if you can do it while still being a newbie, but once you are a member, clink on User CP (blue toolbar), and then on the control panel menu, click on Edit Profile. There you can change and fix whatever part of your profile you want.

Once you are a member, You will be able to take a quizz. I think it stayes on for a few more days, could be wrong, and you will be sorted.

I am not sure when the quizz closes, but it'll be best to hurry up and do the quizz by tomorrow, or you'll have to wait for about 3 months.

Haha, don't worry, I've been asking this question for ages In some fanclubs, you can request tags (e.g: MY Dumbledore one.) but for any other tags, you just get given them, and you can't request.

Obviously for thinks like PREFECT of QUIDDITCH CAPTAIN you automatically get a tag but for personalised tags, you just have to wait and see.....
