I know the next sorting is in September, but how exactly does the sorting work? Do we have to do anything speacial to be sorted? I guess I can find out once I have access to other areas of the site...

The sorting is just a quiz you take. According to your answers, you will get sorted.

About 10cm (6 inches) from the top of the page you'll find a horizontal blue bar. Click on User CP. There should be on the blue column near the left of the page. In here, you should find a link called Edit Avatar, which you should click. Here you can find an avatar among the site's many, or upload your own.

I'm sure it hasn't been more than a few days, because it can take up 30 minutes for the system to upgrade you. Be patient.

I am sure you will not be picked on. Everyone on SS is very friendly and nice. They can understand if you can't spell properly. Besides. You will be able to learn more as you spend more time on. That way you can get to know the rules of the site, and learn how the forum work and such. That way we get to minimize the number of spammers on the forums. Everyone has/had to go through this at one time.

2 - right above where the writting is it looks like a scroll is there, i've noticed that some people have the house symbol how do you do that?

the sorting is in September, although i'm not quite sure on the date.

in order to get a house name you have to be sorted, it shows which house you're in, also your name changes to that color, like mine, i'm in Gryffindor so my name is red.

hi people. AGAIN, i am back... heh. i was just wondering how the "profile picture" thing works. i know how to work everything else, and i got an avatar and i'm happy with all that-- but for the sake of the fact that i'm curirous- -can someone plz help?

First, go to your User CP, then click edit profile picture...Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 350 by 350 pixels or 34.2 KB (whichever is smaller).

if it doesn't work...try clicking here.....hope that helps!

That might be because on your optoins for vewing, you have it to not show signatures. To verify that go to your User CP (Blue toolbar) and then click on Edit Opitions. On there, go to the Thread Display Options and make sure that the show signatures is checked (a green check mark besides Show Signatures). Then click on Save Changes. Now you should be able to see signatures.

I was curious about the time line for the school RPG.

Is there a scale we can use like: One week (real time) = One Month (RPG Time)

Or are things more fluid than that? Just sort of wondering how structured this is.

And also, what is the timeline compared to the HP novels? Are we past the Deathly Hallows or some point before them? How many years (RPG time) has the rpg been going on?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm just very intrigued with this whole thing. It is definitly the biggest and most detailed Harry Potter, heck, any RPG that I've seen in my eight years of internet role playing.

When you are going to post, click on Go Advance. There, below the post box, you'll see icons. Just click on the one you want and it appear at the top of the post.

If I'm not mistaken, the term that's happening right now is term #16, so in RP, that would about 16 years.

Also, this RP takes place more than 60 years after Harry Potter. Of course, it doesn't follow the Harry Potter story exactly, especially since this RP was started before DH, even before HBP. You'll learn more about it once you are sorted and can participate.
