may i know wat 10posts really means iam confused with tat. and also how long does it take to un-become a newbie once you have reached your 10 posts? , r u selecting prefects? , how do we know tat we r members? , how do we join the RPG school? , how can we chat with others? , if we use capital letters u r telling it as flaming but can we write the starting letters in caps? for example: Harry Potter.

Prefects are selected every term. At the moment they are: Tag for Ravenclaw(Seeker_Seven), Leo for Hufflepuff (Nienna), AJ for Slytherin (Pigwidgeon_Took) and Kerry for Gryffindor (shortfry)

Underneath your username it says that you are a member. Once you are sorted, the member sign will change to your house.

, how do we join the RPG school?

Right now, a term is in progress and so you can't be sorted. A term lasts around 3 months and the next sorting should be in June time. Once you are sorted, you can RP (Role Play) in the school RPG.

, how can we chat with others?

You can either talk to others through your RP character, or you can PM someone by simply clicklnig on the username of the one you want to speak to, and then click *send private message.* From there it's pretty simple.

, if we use capital letters u r telling it as flaming but can we write the starting letters in caps? for example: Harry Potter.

Flaming is typing a whole post in caps. E.g:

HARRY WALKED ALONG THE CORRIDOR, SEARCHING FOR RON. "RON?" HE CALLED, GAZING AROUND.

That's flaming. You can use caps in moderation to show that someone is shouting...e.g.

"HARRY!" Yelled Ron, glancing around at the sound of his friends voice.

The head of houses like myself pick students who we feel set an example for the rest of the house. To be considered you must be sorted, attend classes and overall be a helpful and a bit of a role model.

You have mentioned about being sorted into houses etc etc!

However, can you be kicked out of the house you were picked for?

basically I dont spend ages online due to work, so if i got picked for a house could you get kicked for not being an as active member as others?

No. You won't get kicked out of the house for inactivity. However, too much of rule-breaking in the school RPG could get you expelled.

1. you have to wait until the sorting opens, which will be sometime between May or June.

2. That's because you are still a Newbie. You need to make ten legit posts here (or in the News forum) before you're able to post anywhere else on the site. For more info on that, read the rule on this forum. Thank you

I usually don't ask questions but this interested me... when i wrote SIRIUS IS MY MAN =D (in the sirius is my man thread lolz) It reduced to lowercase letters (Who knows if it'll do it now or not) Even my smiley =( But I'm really just curious is this is some really cool flame-preventer ya'll have come up with? Like if one uses too many capital letters... because obviously we can capitalize things normally. But yep, shutting up now =]

SS does have filters to prevent flaming in threads. You're right - if someone types everything in capitals, it is converted to lower-case letters.

I am over the restricted age limit so how do I red the older stories taht ar restricted to the little kiddos? Please help me on this. And, how many people marvel at the fan-fctions on here. It is amazing that people have so much writing tallent.

Once you've got your 10 legit posts and in the member user group, you'll just have to go into the restricted section.

You don't have to take the Sorting quiz if you don't want to, but many people do.

The next sorting is sometime in June. When it begins, there will be announcements about it and links to it pretty much all over SS, so there's very little chance of anyone missing it. =]
