Also, don't pretend to ask something just so it looks like you're not spamming out of the Newbie Hut. It's selfish, takes up other people's time and will result in a big, ugly, scary PM from one of us telling you off.

I am curious as to how many people run this place. It seems like a very impressive place that would take a lot of work to keep going. So, how many people run the place and how many people started it out?

Snitchseeker.com started with just Richard, a.k.a. Dumbledore, as designer.

We currently have:

12 Wizengamot (Administrators)
2 Hit Wizards (SuperMods)
9 Aurors (Mods)
13 School Staff
2 News Mods
We've also got 'mini mods' that help moderate the language forums, and, in the RP, we've got Prefects and Quidditch Captains that have 'mini mod' powers as well.

Firstly, you need 10 posts and to be placed in the "Members" User group (It will say 'member' under your name, and your name will turn to light blue) then you go here and click the link to take the quiz. Good luck!

how long do the sortings usually last? and also i have 10 posts but it still says i cant take the quiz.

You also have to be in the 'member' user group, which could take up to an hour for the system to update. The sortings generally last 2 weeks, and this one ends on the 27th (tomorrow/Tuesday).

The next sorting will be in either May or June of this year.

Please review the questions on the most recent page, in my last post I did say that it could take up to an hour for your usergroup to change. Please be patient

For regular newbie to member changes, the system board does it automatically after someone gains ten posts. But for sorting people into houses there is a system, which is the sorting hat quiz which is read over by staff and then staff places people in their new respective house pending the person's answer to the questions. =]

The animal 'ranks' (like Flobberworm) are only available in the Member user group, you are currently in the newbie user group

So that people can get accustomed to the Rules of SnitchSeeker.com, they can learn to post on topic in threads. The 10 post rule also helps to filter through those who want to join to only send spam to other members of the website.

Go to your User CP (blue toolbar). In the menu there, click on Edit Avatar. You'll be able to choose from the ones offered by the site, or, since you are a member, you can upload a costum one. But remember that it has to follow SS rules.

You have to wait a few mins for the forum to update you to the member rank so you can post. You have been promoted now so you should be able to post in the other forums now.
