Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I love the books!! They're so much better than the movies because they have a lot of detail to them. More than the movies do by a lot! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Apedemak Seventh Year | I actually really enjoy the Harry Potter series, but I couldn't resist the (I don't really know what I'm doing here) option.
Thus far I have only seen the movies, so I am unable to make an appropriate comparison. However, of what I have heard from friends and what I know of books made into movies, I would prefer the books to the movies. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Bridget | I'd have to say movies because I haven't tried to sit down and read any of the books yet. When I tried to read the first one I couldn't stay focused so I just set it down, never to be opened again... |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | the obvious one: Like any hardcore fan, I believe that you can't like Harry Potter if you've only seen the films, because the BOOKS are Harry Potter. The films are just a, forgive me, worse imitation of Harry Potter.
Don't get me wrong, I do like watching the films a lot. But there's no denying they aren't as good as the books for me.
I love painting pictures of characters, creatures and places in my mind and the movies took a lot of that away from me which I kind of resent. And the sheer scope and depth of the magical world is much more evident in the books.
But hey, I'm still incredibly hyped-up for HBP, and I'm definitely going to be first in line, first session at my local cinema.

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I like the books more. They are so much more detailed, and they last longer! I can always lose myself in a HP book. The movies are great too though. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | This is my first post and i definitely like the books much more than the films you have to use your imagination, and everyones Harry Potter world is very slightly different also I find the movies are a slight bit disappointing when they get something 'wrong' (mot quite how you pictured it).
I can actually see the action in my head!!
so definitely the books, as they are in much more depth.

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I love both but I must say I think the books have more descriptive and informative details. You can only cram so much information into a 2.5 hour movie! But I am torn in this choice because the books don't have Alan Rickman in them. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I prefer the books because the movie doesn't really do it justice. I think when reading you can really visualize it very well in your head. The funny thing I've noticed is the first time I read Harry Potter I could picture it like a movie, and the cool part is that when it came out it looked "just" like it. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | Probably the books because the movies leave so much stuff out and mess so much up. Like the Levicorpus in the last movie. Come on! Lawd knows I enjoy watching Cho strut her stuff, but it was painful to watch that last movie. I can't wait for the next movie, though. I'm dying to see the Sectumsempra scene! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I like the books better although I still like the movies too.
I like the books better because there is more to them.
The movies cut soooooo much out and they chang alot of things!
Like when it says that Neville really found the gillyweed and not Dobby! The producers should give Dobby some credit!(why don't they put more Dobby into the movies? Not that I don't like Neville or any thing because I do.) They also replace Dobby with Neville when Neville finds the Room of Requirement!
Don't get me wrong...I LOVE the movies! I've seen every one of them like 5 times each atleast!(LITERALLY)But i've read all the books atleast 10 times each!(because I have all of them.)
The point is that I like both but I like the books better! THX!! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Lady Rayna Foss Montague, Fifth Countess of Ipswich | Definitely the books because it creates my imagination in terms of the rising action, climax, and resolution to the plot while the movies, in my opinion, just kills it esp. with Order of the Phoenix because I felt that they could've added a lot more esp. some scenes that played a huge impact on the book. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I love them both equally....but I have to say....I love Prizoner of Azkaban the movie better than the book because I think the way some of the things were constructed played out in the movie are better than the book....but I love all the movies and all the books. |
