Which do you prefer; the Harry Potter books or the films? And why? |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | That's a hard question. I guess I don't really have a preference. The books are absolutely brilliant, but the movies are too. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the movies stayed so true to the books! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I prefer the books because they give more information. And the movies doesn't have those little extra bits that JKR puts in that are amusing, but doesn't advance the plot. Or so it seems. Right now they have dug themselves into a slight hole because of some stuff they missed in the movies. I'm interested in seeing how they would fix that. It's not that I don't like the movies, I just prefer the books. |

The books are simply magical. You can get so lost in them. They take to a place where you can be free. I personally can stay up all night reading them. There are no worries, just words. JK Rowling has a gift, well actually more of a talent for writing breath-taking books. Sometimes, the movies can't even compare to the books. Every little detail in the books help make Harry Potter what it is. There is no way the movies can have that detail.
However, the movies are amazing. It's fun to watch what someone else thinks of the books. I enjoy every movie. And plan on seeing them all. It makes me laugh to watch something in the movies and think "I thought of something way different." I guess it depends on how you look at things. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I can't really decide either...very hard question, hard to choose one answer.
Well, seeing as I've only been able to see the first, third, and fourth, I'd have to say the books, mostly. The books have alot more info than the movies, and the movies seem a little...rushed. I just saw the third yesterday, and as I did, I kept thinking back to the book; there was pretty much everything in there, but it seemed like they rushed through it. Like for example, at the beginning, Harry was furious quicker than expected. And when he mentioned the permission slip to Uncle Vernon about Hogmeade, you couldn't really tell what is was, but mabey they explained in the second movie...
The movie sorta...well, by the way it was put together, it was basically assuming you've read the third book. But some haven't. So yes, I prefer the books. But the movies are also great aswell; they help you visualise the scenes and people and such. They really help. And Dan, Rup, and Emma are amazing actors.
So, I guess I'm tied between the two options... |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | Usually the books I like best because the movies cut too much out, but I thought PoA was a better movie than book. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: 王珮璇 aka Peixuan First | I like both of them equally because in the movies they give you a better picture, but then in the books, they give u details that the movies miss out. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jensen Cummings First | I have to say that the books are way better than the movies. The books have so much more detail than the movies can even dream of having. Plus, the movies miss some of the funniest parts in the books. For example, in the OOtF they have the weasleys breaking into the OWLS to give off the fireworks and that isn't how it happened in the book. There isn't enough time put into the movies but then again, they can't go much longer |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | The Books are simply the best!! it is exactly what J.K. Rowling saw in her world!!! But the movies aren't too bad...seeing as they a one of the basis for the new Theme Park coming out..I think I can learn to deal with them. But the Books are better..hands down!! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alexander Arcane First | I don't think the movies hold a candle to the books. So much is omitted from the movies to meet the time limits that at best the movies are summaries of the books, but I still do enjoy the movies. Example:
"I'll look for him later, I expect I'll find him upstairs crying his eyes out over my mother's old bloomers or something...Of course, he might have crawled up into the airing cupboard and died...But I mustn't get my hopes up..." Order of the Phoenix, page I don’t know, some where in the middle. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | I would have to say that I definately prefer the books to the movies. When I read those books, I get pulled into the whole Harry Potter world. It is like I am really there, walking beside Harry. |
