I have been pondering this in my little mind for a while
what if Harry had indeed been sorted into Slytherin?
would snape still hate him? how would he react and would he be more tolerant, even warming to lilys/harrys eyes??

But then,Harry wouldn't be friends with Hermoine and Ron.
Just to throw my thoughts out there

I'd hope that Snape would have taken Harry under his wing a bit, he is Lily's daughter after all.
I think that a lot of people would have been quite wary of Harry as well. I mean I think its mentioned in one of the books that some people thought Harry would grow up to be a Dark Wizard. I'm thinking Harry would have been a positive influence on Slytherin though, as opposed to Slytherin being a negative one on him!

I kind of picture Harry still trying to sneak out so he can hang with Ron and Hermione. And for that, I think Snape would still act nasty toward him.

I can't see Harry still being friends with Ron and Hermione if he were sorted into Slytherin. Especially not Ron, Ron hates Slytherin too much.

I doubt that there would be much of a change about the relationship between Harry and Snape. Maybe Snape might think a second time while deciding his personality because, as you know, he bases his ideas about Harry on prejudices.

Well, if Harry had been sorted into Slytherin, he wouldn't have been Harry. Because to Harry, Slytherin stood for pure-bloodism, dark arts and arrogance, which were things, that he despised already from a young age. I also have a feeling, that The Chosen One couldn't have been a Slytherin, as Voldemort was as Slytherin as you can get, and The Chosen One had to to his equal, but also his polar opposite. So instead, Harry was a true Gryffindor, just like his parents were.
But hypothetically, if Harry had been a totally different person and been sorted into Slytherin... Well, Snape would have been very surprised, that James's and Lily's son had become a Slytherin, as I think it's very rare, that two Gryffindors have a Slytherin child. And maybe that surprise would make Snape give Harry a chance, which he wouldn't do, when he was a Gryffindor. And yes, he would also have gotten to know him better, as he would have been in his house. But like I said earlier, Harry wouldn't have been Harry, if he was in Slytherin, so it's almost an unanswerable question.

If Harry had been a Slythie, than Voldemort would still be alive, and we'd all be dead!
Think like this.
If Harry had been a Snake, then he would have been a DeathEater.
Then, he'd be happy to die for Voldemort!

My point exactly. Harry wouldn't have been Harry, if he had been a Slytherin.

That is horrible!
Voldemort would have the sorcerers stone.
The basilisk would have killed Ginny.
Sirius would be in Askaban.
Voldemort would have taken over hogwarts by then.

Harry definitely wouldn't be himself and it would be kind of a betrayal to all the Slytherins seeing how he was before he entered Hogwarts. Plus, I don't think Dumbledore would have as much respect for him as he did since he specifically chose not to be in Slytherin, but any other house.
Snape might've had a high appreciation for Lily's son to make into Slytherin though. D:

Wasn't he hit with a killing curse, but he didn't really die himself, but only the part of Voldemort's soul, that was inside him, was destroyed?
