What do you think about the prophecy?

(Just to remind you what the phophecy states, here is the quote from page 741 of the UK edition of Order of the Phoenix)

I think that Harry will kill Voldemort. I know that some people think that it could be Neville, but I doubt it. It'd be a sweet twist, though if the prophecy was talking about Neville, although I say its Harry. The strongest evidence that makes me say Harry and not Neville is the fact that it says in the prophecy, "...and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not..." Voldemort has not marked Neville as his equal, just Harry.

I sa agree that it will be harry. Cause he has markered harry as his equal and not Neville. And he dose have a power that the dark lord dosen't thats the power to love, and love can take you a log way in life. But i think neville might help in away, but harry's the one thats got to kill him

Well just from the prophecy we know that either Harry or Voldie will die in the final book because the prophecy says "Neither can live while the other survives". Personally I belive Harry will kill Voldie and come out shaken and probley alittle injured but no worse for wear!

I think Harry will kill Voldie. And I don't really think he will die. And if he does...well I just think that would be a rather bad ending. We are all waiting for this ending so Harry can FINALLY be happy. And then he just dies? I really hope not Not saying it can't happen, cause it can. And as for the profecy Harry is going to kick some major evil booty...by himself. Ron and Hermy will be there but they can't stand beside him. Thats why I'm more scared for their life more than Harry's. *covers eyes* I just don't want to think about it!! lol

I think, like everyone else, that Harry will defeat Voldemort, but I'm not sure if he will kill him. He might take away his powers, so he is like a muggle or something, proving that there are worse things than death, as Dumbledore used to say. I just can't see Harry killing anyone, even Voldemort, he has too much love in him. He couldn't even let Sirius and Lupin kill Peter.
Harry will finally be able to live a happy life, and get married to Ginny(if she survives). I know that there is a chance that he will die, but I don't want to think about it, as I love him too much.

I so agree about harry having to much love in him. He doses. He would let them kill him. But i do thing that harry will stop him and finally be happy and marry ginngy, cause ginny will surivie

You've got a very good point there. At the moment Harry isn't capable of killing anyone, no matter how much this person has hurt him. But the prophecy clearly states that neither can live while the other survives. So Harry has to find a way to kill Voldemort. My guess is that Harry won't do it alone but that his friends will help and together they will manage.

I agree that Harry will not kill voldy I can't imagine he killing anyone, I think he will find out another way to vanquish voldemort the power he has and voldy not, the love, Dumbledore said that it is very powerfull, and Harry have a lot of love. Also I think in the final battle there will fight only Harry and Voldy

I think Harry will have to kill Voldie, he may have a lot of love in him but that´s just it. Harry is at his strongest when the people he loves are in danger and they will all be in danger in Deadly Hollows, so if something happens to one of them due to Voldemort, Harry won´t stop untill Voldie is completely destroyed. Harry´s love for that person will be the key to killing the Dark Lord. And besides neither can live while the other survives.

Sincethe prophecy could have meant harry or neville I think two of them will die and one will live because of the "neither can live wille the other survives"

I think one has to live and one has to die. And I think Harry will live and Lord Voldie Pants is gonna die.

i think harry will kill voldy.bcoz he didn't transfer any powers to neville, only to harry.SO, harry will kill voldy.well, it is my guess.

I think Harry will kill Voldemort, but I'm worried coz on Wikipedia Harry is referred to as the "protagonist", which implies that the Harry Potter series is a tragedy, therefore the protagonist is supposed to die... so now I'm praying Wikipedia's stupid...

As everyone already knows, Harry did defeat Voldie, but I do think that it had to happen. One of them had to die. It was Harry's duty to finish the job and protect the rest of the Magical and Muggle world. Who knows what would have happened if Voldie would have survived and Harry died. Would there have been anyone that could have come close to at least limiting Voldies powers? What would he have done to the Muggle world?

That's one thing that never happens, evil never wins the final battle. It only wins until someone can bring them down, goodness always win in the end.

Yes, and Harry learned so much along the way. I don't think he would have turned out the way he did if he hadn't gone through all of it. He realized how important it was to never give up and to do what you know in your heart to be right.

Yeah, and Dumbledore is mostly responsible for making Harry understand it all.

I wonder what would have happened if Harry never found out what the prophecy said. Would he have tried as hard or maybe nothing would have changed.

i think Dumbledore had been slowly readying HArry about the Prophecy.

I agree, if he didn't know about the prophecy he would never have been able to defeat Voldemort. Dumbledore knew that too, that's why he told him about it, even though he knew what it would do to him.
