Oja, you may have hit upon something here, who knows! The prophecy says "Either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives"
The only thing this prophecy clearly states is that neither can live while the other survives, and we all know that the two to whom it is referring ARE alive and surviving! But at what cost?. Voldemort keeps trying to become the darkest and most powerful wizard alive, yet he keeps get thwarted in one way or another by Harry. He can never become, in entirety, what he wants to be as long as he keeps being tripped up by someone who has sttod in his way since he was a year old! How can Voldemort claim true victory when everyone else sees him getting outsmarted or outlucked by a kid! Harry, on the other hand, will never find peace or true happiness while Voldemort is trying to kill him and use his friends and family to try and achieve his goal! Neither can live........it is a figure of speech, not reality. Is the death of one necessary? Probably, but only because I can't see Harry giving up his vow or Voldemort ever honestly claiming defeat and giving up his dream...but there are worse things than death that could mean the same thing for Voldemort, that could totally defeat him without literly killing him. Any ideas as what they could be? What role might the Veil play?

Ohh I'm going to have to do that contest! When do we have to have our answers in? Because I don't know if I will be able to do it till Saturday because of school and band. Especially school. Darn school! Cuts back on my SS time to much! lol

You know what I really want to know? Is what is worse than death. Like what exactl Dumbledore meant. I know I know there are worse things...but what did he consider the worst. Was it in the room that contained Love? why is that room so important? He said Harry has the power the dark lord knows not, and thats love (obviously, but for that reason I sort of pitty Tom Riddle...) and is the love Harry have equivalent to that in that room in the Department of Mysteries? Does this make any sense? Or am I just rambaling lol.

I like Hedwig's Mail Room for the chat room or Buckbeak's Book Theories for the theory section. Also, Privet Drive Playroom might work for the game section and Firebolt's Flight for poems etc.

Let's assume that both of them live through the last book and neither is killed. Still they wouldn't be really alive. I mean they'd live, but for me there's a difference between being alive and living. Living means existing, breathing, live every day, whereas being alive means enjoying life. So still if both lived (which is actually rather unlikely) none of them would be alive.
