Owl Post OfficeNeed to send an owl and don't have your own? Come and meet our owls and send your letters and packages, but don't forget to pay the postage costs!
Set up directly across from the entrance, this large, polished wooden desk is easily visible and even may call attention to itself. Written across the front panel in large, curvy print are the words "Owl Post Office". Against the wall, about six feet from where the cushioned stools are, there are three boxes; your letters, when placed in there by an employee, will vanish (Don't worry, they're only being sent to the mail room!). Seated behind the desk, depending on the time of the day, you may find as many as three employees ready and waiting to help. However, if you approach the desk and find it empty, there is a small silver bell just off to the left. Please only ring it once; the enchanted bell will make no discernible sound when pressed. However, it will be heard in the Mail Room and Owlery, and it's rather loud.
When you have written your letter up, and are ready to buy your postage and send it off, please wait in line for the next available employee to help you.

Smiling at the girl as she came towards the counter, Cadence glanced down at the letter for a couple seconds before looking back up at the girl. "You want this sent to Hogwarts?" she asked, sliding the letter towards her. That was what the address said, but she wanted to make sure. "How quickly would you like it arrive?"

Mina smiled as she gave the young woman a nod. "Yes, please." she replied. It was a bit embarrassing to admit this but what was she really hiding anyway. "To be completely honest, I was meant to send this out ages ago." There she had said it out loud. "Express would be ideal, if possible. There is a friend that might be waiting for it." Anya wasn't probably even worried about the letter, but she was and the sooner the letter got out; the sooner she would be at ease.

Oh, it was supposed to be sent out sooner? Cadence wondered briefly why it hadn't been already sent then, but she had enough common sense and self-control not to ask. That was the customer's business, not hers. "Express it is then," she said with a smile and a nod. "That'll be 16 knuts, please."

Mina was still embarrassed over her forgetfulness and was happy that there was no further questions. Being so caught up in other things, she just let it fall to the side. But at least, she was going to try to right it now. It was better late, then never sent. At least, she really hoped that Anya would understand.
Pulling out her coin purse, she pulled out 16 shiny new knuts and slid them across the counter. "16 knuts. Thank you."

Nate's younger brother walked up to the desk with the letter in hand followed by his older sister to accompany him. He was ready to send his letter to hogwarts to his big bro. He needed to know what type of postage he would need first. He then waited for someone to help the both of them with the letter. He was getting so excited about this letter. Hopefully someone would help them soon. He looked up at his sister and said "Do you think bro is doing alright. What happens if this doesn't get there in time." She replied by saying "Yes I think he's doing alright. Well I think he's doing perfect. Don't worry it will get there in time. It only takes a few days for it to arrive." He then said "Sis can you hold my spot in line. I want to go see the owls." Then after he said that he handed the letter to his sister, and walked off into the owlery.

Looking up from the letter she had taken to writing during the times there were no customers coming in that day, Cadence smiled when she saw two new customers had come in. She set her quill down and pushed her letter aside as she turned her attention to them. "Hi!" she said brightly. "How may I help you?"

Nate younger brother then saw the person at the desk. So he walked on over from the owlery to the front desk to send his letter. "Hi. Two things. Can I send this letter to hogwarts. The second is what type of postage would I need?" Yeh he was finally going to send the letter to hogwarts. This was so exciting for him. Because it would be the first letter he sent. Second he might get an owl back from his older brothe. Who would hopefull answer all of his questions.
Packages in hand, Melaina Shacklebolt walked into the post office, her black stilleto heels making noise on the floor. She was still in her work clothes. But people said she looked more intimidating in a pantsuit and pointy black heels, so that didn't really bother her.
What did bother her however, was having to deliver her silly son's Valentine's package to some girl at Hogwarts. Also. There was a line. Melaina hated lines. But it was rude to kick people, so she not-so-patiently waited, tapping her toes on the floor. She was a busy woman, thank you very much.

Making her way into the owl post office with a big ol' scowl on her face, she scoffed as she stood in the doorway, glaring at everything. She wouldn't have had to use her break during work hours if Benny would actually show up once in awhile. She swore that owl was worse than her previous one.
Nevertheless, with the small package and letter in hand, Evelyn walked up to the desk, finding that it was vacant as pretty much the entire shop was. This shop was open wasn't it? Looking around, she spied the silver bell just off to the left, and rung it.

Silence.
What the-
Tap tap tap tap tap tap!
Their bell was apparently broken.
Aglaia had only been here for a few days and wasn't used to having to deal with customers. Or realize that she had to on a daily basis. Wasn't that the Candy girl's job? To assist the public and all that nonsense? She'd have to look over the previous owner left her again.
And oh that damn bell.
She was going to chuck that out her window, seriously.
Slightly irritated, she quickly exited the mail room, and pressed the woman's hand down on the bell to make it STOP.
It quite possibly was still ringing in the back because of this.
"One ring is all that's needed." She let out a huff of air, blowing up her bangs. "Okay?" For a moment she gave the other woman a skeptical look, not sure if she got the message, before slowly lifting her hand while taking a seat. "Now," She motioned to the package and letter. "Where do you need that sent?"

Another woman came into the shop, and she instantly regretted spending any time in the mail room. If she'd been elsewhere, that assistant of her's probably would have dealt with these two.
And why were the so impatient today?
"The longer you stand there tapping your foot," She was still a bit irritated, but at least now she was also amused. "The less likely it is I'll be delivering your letter." Greek accent thick, she motioned the woman over anyway.
Come, lets get this over and done with.

Having been paying so much attention to the bell, she hadn't noticed the woman come from the back until her hand was trapped. Mother of Pearl. Short scary lady was a ninja.
"Alright. Sorry." she muttered, eyes widened a little and waited for her hand to be released. Snatching her hand back the first chance she got, Evelyn fiddled with the package and letter before placing them on the desk. Oh look, someone else was here. Here she thought this shop was going to be packed. "Hogwarts, please."

Finally, a worker. It was about time. And she was snooty too. Melaina raised an eyebrow and eyed the woman with a thick accent of some sort. It was almost hard to understand her. "I'll have you know, I am a very busy woman." The tall, dark-skinned woman stepped up to the counter. "But your service is appreciated." See? She could be nice. At least she wasn't banging on the service bell like the other woman.
Ms. Shacklebolt set the silly Valentine's day things on the counter. "I need to send these to a student at Hogwarts. My son seems to... fancy a girl there." Which was utterly ridiculous. Nothing good ever came out of teenage relationships. Especially at Hogwarts.

Mental note...ring the bell again when leaving.
She didn't believe that sorry, but she'd take it.
All for second chances was Aglaia.
"Hogwarts." That school that the kids around her attended. Shouldn't she be there too? Looked a bit young to her. Acted like it the way she was messing with the bell. "Is this package important, or will standard shipping suffice?" She tapped the package and surveyed it. Now what were their prices again?

The woman certainly wasn't too busy to wait, but Aglaia had items to unpack still, and so she'd get rid of her now. "So is your business." The Greek woman didn't do this for free, see?
She needed galleons to keep off her cousins couch.
Pulling the package over to her person without hesitation, she glanced up at the woman. "That's sweet of him." Though if he really wanted to impress the girl, he'd show up to the school himself. Not that she'd suggest that to his mother...

Aww! Wasn't he adorable! "Of course you can send it to Hogwarts," Cadence said, smiling kindly and extending her hand to accept the letter. "As for postage, since Hogwarts is located within the UK, it'll cost 16 knuts. Now, how quickly would you like it delivered? Express? Or standard?"

Leo stepped up to the counter and waited patiently to be helped. He had all the time in the world right now. The only specification was that the letter get sent sometime today. He could see a little situation with a lady who seemed really impatient, and Leo felt a little bad for the woman on the other side of the desk. She didn't deserve to be treated that way. He leaned against the wall and tapped the thick letter against his leg, thinking about what he'd written, and how he hoped his little sister would respond.

16 knuts. Wow that was a good price to send it to hogwarts. He thought it would cost more then that, but no. He then looked up at his older sister. Ohh, there was someone she recognized! Cadence couldn't remember what his name was, but she did remember him coming in before to send a letter. "Hello!" she greeted the man, grinning. "How may I help you today?"

Cadence waited patiently as the little boy asked his sister for the money, and she nodded when he said he wanted it sent express. Once he had the coins, Cadence accepted them and dropped them into the proper drawer after mentally counting them as well. Turning her eyes back to the boy and the young woman, she smiled. "Alright, I'll have your letter sent off right away. Will that be all for you today?"

Nate's younger brother looked back up at the person and said "Yes that will be all for today." He was so excited and nervous and happy at the same time. The excited part was he was sending his very first owl. The nervous part is what happens if it wouldn't get there in time. The happy part was he would get to send a letter to his big bro, and something might come back for him.

Or buy the lady a stool. Short people...
Important.
Right. Aglaia tried to remember the prices, and when she did, she looked back at the young woman across from her. "20 sickles." That sounded about right. And if it wasn't. Well... she did push her buttons one too many times. Literally. Maybe she should put up a sign to let people KNOW. Only push once.

Twenty sickles? Seriously?
Evelyn didn't know the prices since she didn't come in here often, or at all for that matter, but that sounded ridiculous even to her. Twenty sickles. Benny was so going to get an earful when he finally showed up. She was trapping him in his cage! Tie him to a stool! Make him wear brick shoes!
Or just give him a box of treats, which she'd more than likely do anyhow.
Keeping the muttering on a down low as she pulled out two galleons from her pocket, she placed it on the counter and stared. STARED. She wanted the change. All fourteen shiny sickles of it.
