Hi everyone, my name is Rajeshwari but I'm better known as Tina or RJ. This story starts from the last chapter of Deathly Hallows- 19 Years Later. So basically, this is about the lives of James and Albus Potter, and Rose Weasley.
Special thanks to Joanne for creating this wonderful world which all of us love so much. The main characters of my story are hers, of course, but this story is mine. So here goes:

Albus was feeling nervous about his first year at Hogwarts. `Don't be such a scaredy-cat, Al! Gryffindor is for the brave ones, and what if you don't get sorted into a house at all?' James teased. `Would that happen?' asked Albus, anxiously. James laughed and said, `Relax, don't you remeber what Dad had said? It doesn't matter what house you're in, all that matters is that you're a good student.' Albus tried to calm down. He was dieing to go to Hogwarts since he was eight. His dad had told him stories about the time when he was at Hogwarts himself. How he had listened with full attention, and how he had envied his brother, James, when owls arrived with letters from Hogwarts. Now, when the time had come, he felt like he was about to tackle a dragon. `What is wrong with me, I should be happy about going to Hogwarts', he thought to himself. He tried to think about the Great Hall that his father had told him about. The way he described it, Albus longed to see what it would be like when he arrived at Hogwarts. He drifted off to sleep, thinking about all these things.

Albus was awoken by the excited whispers of other students in the carriage. `...there it is....'. `Look....we're close!' Albus looked around for his brother but he was nowhere to be seen. Then he spotted Rose. He went up to her and asjked,` Are we nearing Hogwarts?' `Yes, we'll be there in about fifteen minutes. You should go change into your robes. James has gone to change.' Albus waited for a few minutes and then went off to change into his brand new robes. He was at last excited to start his year at Hogwarts.

Albus and the others got off the train. They could hear Hagrid calling out, `Firs' years over here! Firs' year? Come 'ere, Albus! Rose, all righ' there?' The first years climbed onto the boat. `You'll be gettin' yer firs' look of Hogwarts righ' now!' As they moved on, Albus heard a loud `ooh'. He looked up and caught his first glimpse of Hogwarts. His stomach turned over as he saw it. It was a grand castle. The boat halted at a cliff and the children got off the boat. They climbed onto the rocks and then went up a flight of stone steps till they reached the door. Hagrid knocked softly at the door, and Albus couldn't imagine what it would be like inside Hogwarts. He expected something very different from what he had thought it would be like when his father told him about it. At last the door opened and in walked the clhidren.

Hi, I'm back with the next chapter. Sorry for the delay, took time to write the Sorting Hat song. Here it is:

Albus gasped in surprise. He had never seen anything so spectacular in his whole life. The Great Hall was huge and so high; Albus couldn’t make out whether it had a ceiling. There were magnificent staircases which led to the upper floors. Albus was delighted to come to Hogwarts and all his fear was replaced by excitement. Professor Chang welcomed the first years with a warm smile.
`Welcome to Hogwarts, we hope you enjoy your next seven years here. Make a line and stand here, the Sorting will take place in a few minutes’. Albus looked around for a bit. He looked at the High Table where all the staff sat. He didn’t quite know the names of all the teachers. He recognized Professor McGonagall sitting in the center as she was the Headmistress. He also recognized Professor Longbottom (`Don’t forget to give Neville our love,’ his mother had told him). He thought he recognized Oliver Wood as the Quidditch teacher. His father had said that Oliver Wood was the Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team when he was selected to play as seeker. A moment later, Professor Chang came running back with the Sorting Hat. The Sorting Hat looked weary and worn out, its hems ripped and a hole on the top. It stood there for a moment, and then the creases, which looked like lips, broke apart and began to sing:
You may not think I’m neat and clean
From all that your eyes can see,
But search the world and should you find
A wiser hat than me.
I’ll find you a place in Gryffindor
If you are brave and true
The daring, chivalrous ones I find
Will match perfectly with you!
Or do you belong in Hufflepuff
With the ones loyal and just?
The faithful ones are always known
Hufflepuffs at heart.
But if you are wise and quick-witted
And enjoy quite a challenge,
Then I shouldn’t hesitate to say
That Ravenclaws are your true match.
Or are you one of the cunning folks
Determined to achieve your ends?
Then you’re better off in Slytherin
Where you’ll find your real friends.
So don’t you sneer at my weary looks,
Look for the wit beneath
For I’m the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
That none other can eat!
After the Sorting Hat had stopped, the Great Hall rung with applause. Now Professor Chang said, `when I call out your names one by one, you will come forward and put this hat on’. Now the strange feeling in Albus’ stomach had returned. Professor Chang opened the scroll and was a bout to read out the names of children. Albus was nervous again.

I loved the song! It sounded so much like the Sorting Hat in the books. I loved the lyrics! It was very believable! Well done! I loved the way you portrayed the Sorting Hat. And Professor Chang sounded a lot like Professor McGonagall - except a little less stern. Still. I loved this chapter! Can't wait for more!

OMG! The song is awesome! I was shocked at how much it sounds like something that would be in one of the books. I can't wait to see where Albus gets sorted!

Professor Chang read the first name from the scroll. `Moore, Adrianna!’ A short girl with wearing her hair in a ponytail came forward and put on the Sorting Hat. By her face, you could tell that she was frightened. After a minute, the Hat shouted, `Hufflepuff!’. Adrianna Moore looked relieved. She took off the hat and rushed off to the Hufflepuff table. The children of Hufflepuff cheered, and Albus could see Fat Friar clapping. `Smiths, Monique!’ Monique Smiths was put into Ravenclaw. `Thomas, Suzanne!’ The Hat took a long time to decide which house Suzanne Thomas was to be put in. `Ravenclaw!’ shouted the Hat finally.
`Bryans, Gabrielle!’ The Hat barely touched Gabrielle Bryans’ head when it yelled `Gryffindor’. Albus shifted nervously. `Don’t worry, you’ll be put in Gryffindor, I’m sure’, Rose assured him warmly. Albus smiled at her. `McDougal, Charles!’ Charles walked up to the hat bravely and put it on. Moments later, `Slytherin’ was the Hat’s decision. There was an air of excitement in the Hall. `Charles McDougal is the first Slytherin this year!’ Albus whispered to Rose. `Why yes, Scorpius Malfoy would mark second’, Rose replied. Albus was silent for a moment then said, `I don’t think he is as bad as other Slytherins. He doesn’t look as rude’. Rose opened her mouth to reply just when Professor Chang said `Potter, Albus!’ Students whispered to each other. All eyes were on him now. Albus nervously stepped out of the line and put the Hat on. `I see a lot of courage, and yes, intelligence’ Albus heard the Hat say. Albus was about to say `not Slytherin’ when the Sorting Hat yelled, `Gryffindor!’ Albus’ lips formed a wide grin. He took off the Hat and hurried off to the Gryffindor table where James had saved him a seat. The Hall boomed with applause for Albus, and Nearly Headless Nick congratulated Albus.
Now it was Rose’s turn to try on the Hat. Rose’s face reflected nothing but confidence, she would surely be in Gryffindor. It was in her blood. She walked up confidently to Professor Chang, smiled and put on the Hat, but the Hat barely touched her hair when it screamed, `Gryffindor!’ Rose ran to join her friends at the Gryffindor table. There were too many people to get sorted, and the Ceremony seemed endless. `Malfoy, Scorpius!’ Professor Chang called out. Heads turned to see Scorpius Malfoy as he nervously put on the Hat. He looked nervous. People didn’t need to pay attention, as he was obviously going to get sorted in Slytherin. Rose turned to Albus, `Here comes Sneering Scorpius! I wonder what his father was like when he was our age. He would-‘Something that the Hat yelled had caused her to stop. Albus couldn’t believe his ears. Did the Sorting Hat just sort Scorpius Malfoy into Gryffindor? All eyes were on Scorpius as he was walking towards the Gryffindor table. Rose smirked, but Albus offered him a seat beside himself. Scorpius was frightened to death. Was he actually, really sorted into Gryffindor? He, a Malfoy? That was not possible!

Wow, that's a nice twist to add to it, I really like that you put a Malfoy in Gryffindor. Keeps things interesting...I wonder how his father would actually take that...

Wow. Love the twist. Wonder what Scorpius's dad would say to this...

Thank you everyone for you encouragement. Glad you like the twist in the story. I was very busy for the last two weeks, and I know that I've kept you waiting really long. So here's the next chapter. Hope you enjoy it!

Just a couple of students left to be sorted, and the Sorting would be over. The last two students were both sorted into Hufflepuff. Then Professor McGonagall stood up to make a speech. She gives really long speeches’; said James with a yawn.` Welcome all the First Year students. I hope you have a great time at Hogwarts. Let me introduce you to your teachers. Professor Wood is the Quidditch teacher and the Gryffindor Head of House. Professor Longbottom is the Herbology teacher.’
She paused at that note. ` Professor Thomas is the Transfiguration teacher and the Hufflepuff Head of House. Professor Chang is the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher and the Ravenclaw Head of House. Professor MacMillan is the Charms teacher. Professor Waters is the Potions teacher. Professor Brandini is the Astronomy teacher and the Slytherin Head of House. History of Magic is taught by Madame Melvyn. Professor Courtella teaches Divination. Professor Hagrid teaches Care of Magical Creatures. Professor Connelly is the Arithmancy teacher. Madame Knowles is the Ancient Runes teacher. And last, we have Professor White, who teaches Muggle Studies. I think we should start the feast now.’ With one wave of her wand, all the dishes and goblets in front of Albus filled with delicious food.
Albus stared at that food. He had had a wonderful but tiring day, and he was delighted at the thought of a Grand Feast. James who was sitting next to him, said, ` What are you looking at, Al? You are at Hogwarts now. Make the most of this feast. Now dig in!’ Albus grinned and started eating. It was the most delicious food he had ever tasted. He took a second helping, and a third helping. Finally, his hunger was fulfilled and he was ready to go to sleep. Even Scorpius, who was frightened to death, was satisfied now. `Professor McGonagall stood up and said, `It is now time for you to go to bed. It is the Prefects’ duty to escort you to your common rooms. Now off you go!’
