We are always looking for new fan clubs here at Florean Fortescue’s. Even though we would love to have a fan club for every character and actor in the Harry Potter franchise, this would cause a lot of mayhem if they were just given out randomly. Anyone who wishes to start a new fan club must go through the same process the current existing fan clubs have gone through. This is to assure us that taking the time to create these new fan clubs won’t end up being a waste. If you are interested in starting a new club, please read the following before requesting:

What type of fan clubs can be requested?
Here at Florean Fortescue’s, we ask that you only request actors and characters from the Harry Potter franchise. This means that you cannot request a fan club for your favourite Potter relationship, place, etc. You can, however, request clubs that involve a certain group (the Dumbledore’s Army, Ghosts, Lord Voldemort & Death Eater, and Second Generation fan clubs are perfect examples of this).

What do I have to do to start a new fan club?
First, you have to make sure that the character or actor doesn’t already have a fan club. If there is not, you will need to collect a list of 25+ members who are be interested in starting up the fan club with you. Once you have the members, you can post that list in this thread when it is open. From there the global fan club moderators will review each fan club request and approve the ones that they believe will be successful. If you receive a PM about your request being approved, you will then have to give that moderator at least 10 odes within a month’s time before your fan club can officially begin.

How do I get a list of 25+ interested members?
You cannot start a thread anywhere on the site asking members if they are interested in wanting to start up your fan club. You are welcome to ask members through PMs, VMs, the St. Mungo’s threads, IMs, etc. Please do not pester people if they decline your invitation to be put on your list. Simply move on and keep looking!

What happens when 2+ people want to request the same club?
Don’t worry about it, because this is a perfect opportunity for you! If you discover that you each want to start the same fan club, contact each other and work together to get 25+ members and 10 odes. It will make the whole requesting process easier and you each will be credited.

What exactly is an ode?
An ode, simply put, is a poem of celebration dedicated to an individual. Basically, it is just a way of expressing your admiration. We all know that not everyone is a poet, so it is not mandatory that you have to write up a poem for an ode. Simply tell us why you think so-and-so deserves their very own fan club.
