Here's some stuff I figured may have happened:

1.)Umbrige used to attend Hogwarts in some manner before she did as a teacher in Book 5. In the Canadian version when she interupts Dumbledore in the Great Hall somewhere in her speech she states, "I'm glad to back at Hogwarts."

2.)Harry never saw his parents die. That's why he couldn't see the Threstrals (sp?) before he saw Cedric die. This could mean that he either blinked (yeah I know that sounds sort of stupid), someone was covering his eyes, his face was hidden or he wasn't even threre when it happend.

That's it for now...tell me what you think
...and if you want page numbers I'll give them to you!!! Except I have the Canadian version so it may vary a bit

errr....potter chick did you read book 5? because dumbledore says that voldie went after the potter because of little harry...you know trelawney's prediction...etc. he went after the potters because he wanted to kill harry...

phoenix arian, i SOOOO agree. this is getting to confusing! but atleast all of us (people in this forum) can be confused together...this is why i started this in the first place

anyways...i think i know the hint in chamber of secrets... remember dumbledore knew that harry went to the burrow...how? and another thing, hedwig seems to always know where harry is, I AM NOT SAYING SHE'S AN ANIMAGUS BECAUSE NO PERSON WOULD PRETEND THAT LONG TO BE AN ANIMAL! SAME GOES FOR CROAKSHANKS! only wormtail did that because he is a BAD BAD man! anyways i got side tracked... hedwig and dumbledore always know where harry is...and hagrid got harry hedwig...maybe, just maybe hedwig is extra special and hagrid was ordered by dumbledore to get harry hedwig without telling him that she is to keep an eye over harry?
...who knows...
anyways ....i'm so proud of us guys!! we are on to something!! wonder what j.k would say if she saw our little corner?...sue us maybe...hehehe...giving too much away...

^But isn't it like that with every owl? They're supposed to know where their masters are...otherwise it could be a possibility

Sirius is cool- Thanks very much for agreeing with me. I just had to get that out of my system.

I never really thought that much about Hedwig. I just assumed it was in her nature, because after all, Ron's Pigwidgeon knew to go straight to Harry, and knew exactly where he was. So do all the other owls that are sent to Harry, but, you never know. I actually liked the idea about the Chocolate Frog cards from, umm, sorry whoever posted it, I completely forget. I'll come back and edit it later. But I really liked that idea and it was the first time I ever heard it, but it makes more and more sense as you think about it. Well, anyway, bye.

^I don't remember where he said that and frankly I don't have the books to look it up, but I'm guessing she may have done something impressing...

oh well, i love everybodys ideas so far
i especially like my idea about hary having 'inner sight', with the same eyes as his mother... he might jsut be good at divination
i think that the centuars will be useful in the next books too. they are all knowing, and now that firenze is part of the school.....

I didn't read your post about Harry...wait a sec read this:

Ok I was reading over the book again and I found something that's a bit odd but it could just be filler for the book. If it isn't though I think it may have to do something with Harry's eyes which are supposed to mean a big deal.
In the chapter "Detention with Delores(sp?)" Harry starts his classses, but strangely his right eye begins to hurt. The chapter goes on into a few more pages and then Harry's temples hurt. Finally at his final detention with Umbrige she touches his hand to inspect the "I will not tell lies" thingy when Harry's scar suddenly hurts.
That's it! But....in the previous chapter Harry keeps complaining about the amount of homework he has...so I'm thinking it could just be an honest mistake.

the following i read somewhere, so im not taking credit...except maybe researching for that theory:
remember j.k said that the characters' names are important to their part? well Arthur (Mr. weasley) shares the same first name as a guy who died trying to save merlin? do u think he is going to die trying to save either dumbledore or harry?
oh oh god oh my, its a very good theory, but i hope to god that doesnt happen. i woul cry like mad i love arthur hes funny and loving and woul be a tragic loss, yeah? oh jeez...

well i thought that maybe Lily was a teacher at hogwarts of divination, and that she had 'The Eye" you know?
and thats why dumbledore had to find a teacher a bit before harry was born, cuz lily took maternity leave and then she had to go into hiding...
cuz if you read them, there is a lot of emphadid on divination in the 3rd and 5th books, ant it talks a lot about how trelawney had been teaching for, was it 16 years? in the 5th book
and i dunno if there wold be so much emphasis on divination id it was just another subject that harry didnt like, ya know?

hm, *sctratched head* i'm not sure what a muse is exactly, i know in mythology the muses were those exceptional in the arts, specifically song and music. *shrug*

anywho, i did some small thinking on the whole clue in CoS, and if Harry could be heir to Godric, and i think the clue might be the sword, seeing as how the sword he pulled was Godric's. and also, maybe voldemort's been after harry all the time for that fact that he's heir. voldie DID say in CoS that he was Salazar's heir, and maybe he's been going after harry because of the rift between Godric and Salazar in the very beginning of Hogwarts... so he's avenging his ancestor by trying to kill harry, see.... it seems a bit dramatic, lol, but who knows? :sorcerer:

maybe thats the way lily put the charm in harry? his eyes.... might even explain the position of his scar. no one's ever wondered why harry's scar isnt, say, on his cheek. they're checksplat in the middle of his two eyes.

anywhoo, i think its interesting how hedwig dissappears for whole days and then also spends the entire days at privet drive away from harry. it WOULD be kinda cool. interesting that hedwig and dumbledore are never in the same place, huh? or at least i dont remember them being in there...

and i think that someone could be animagus for a couple years at a time. i mean, thats what sirius did, huh? aaah! sirius! *bawls* and pettigrew... evil man. ;x
