| Dudley's worst memory? Well when I re-read the OoTP for I don't remember how many timeth, I just wondered that what would the Born-with-the-silver-spoon Dudley's worst memories that the dementors made him live again? We all know that dementors make one remember his worst memories and we all know that Dudley is the most pampered boy. Then how can he have any worst memories?

| LOL maybe he has alot of jealousy towards Harry. Maybe Dudley's worst fear is that his parents will like Harry more and start to treat him more like they treat Harry. I don't know, that's a good question. Maybe it will come up in later books. I don't know of any bad memories of Dudley's that are mentioned in any of the books. Again, it could be the jealousy thing--maybe as a child he felt threatened by Harry somehow. |

| I'm not sure about his worst memories, but I think his boggart would be Dumbledore telling him that he's a wizard.
Even the most spoiled of us has bad and/or sad memories. Maybe he would be forced to relive all the times he broke something or the rare occasions when his parents didn't give in to his every whim. It sounds silly to us, but that might scare a bloke like Dudley.

| Maybe he was picked on or beaten by people at school or maybe Vernon & Petunia beat him earlier in life and he can only remember bits. That could be why they pamper him now.. |

I dont see any reason why they would beat him anyway! And I dont think he's being betain up at school coz well in OotP he's the one doing the beating up |

| While I don'tthink Dudley is crucial to the story, I do think he is a human (yes I know it's debateable...). He has fears, angers, and hopes just like everyone else. As such, it may have been any number of things: being turned down by a girl he liked, being beaten up by a boy he didn't like, failing a class, etc. |

I wonder if there is something that we dont know?? Like maybe he actually seen magic.. when he was younger...
he could also be scared of growing a tail again.... or have a huge tongue again.... |

| I think it's him being spoiled his whole life, or when Hagrid try to turn him into a pig. |

| Although I would doubt he was beaten in school, I would bet that in Primary School he was picked on for his weight. Kids are cruel and although JK makes a point of saying how he picks on Harry, she does not say he was the school bully then (not until Smeltings). My guess is one of the reasons he picked on Harry so much is to raise his sense of self-worth. Most kids jeered himn for his size and weight so he picked on Harry to make himself feel better. |

| | | If you ask me, I think it would be the fear of his "mum" not giving him all the dessert he wants, his dad not giving him the same amount of gifts of the last year etc. He is spoiled, so my guess is that he saw something along the line of either Harry being treated like him, or him being treated as Harry... | |

The diet in BOok 4. I guess I could see that diet being his worst memory though. His boggart could be his mother telling him he had to diet until he was as thin as Harry.....<grin> |

| Hmm... Dudley's worst memory? I have a hunch, not really supported by canon. Even though we see him happy and pampered, I'm betting there may have been one time he brought home a bad/failing mark from school or got into serious trouble. Although Vernon is probably more likely in such a case to deny it all and think that the school/accusers are all against his son, maybe there was a point where he actually DID recieve a lecture. (Maybe it was even younger - say if he broke an expensive vase when little.) Vernon in full steam can be quite terrifying, after all.
Either that, or I'd be willing to bet his worst memories are his brushes with the magical world - Hagrid giving him a pig's tail, seeing Harry blow up Aunt Marge... he'd also probably relive the terror he experiences whenever Harry whips out his wand when dementors come near (although, of course, magnified). That seems most likely to me: his most terrifying memories are the ones in which Mummy and Daddy aren't in control, instead, magic is. |

| Hmmm. Maybe there's more to Dudley than JK has chosen to tell us. Maybe being the center of attention is pressuring for him? Perhaps thats why he rebels so much. |

It makes sense, everything bad that has happened with Dudley has involved magic of some sort. |

| The dementors make you relive your worst memory. It's the boggart that reflects your worst fear.
The only guess I have as to Dudley's worst memory is when he had to give up one of his rooms to Harry. His boggart would probably be his parents saying no to his demands, or actually deciding to treat Harry as part of the family (meaning he'd take attention away from Dudley). |

| I've been wondering about this ever since OotP. He's so spoiled, what awful memories could he possibly have? I'd like to think that maybe underneath it all he's a nice guy and doesn't like bullying people, so those are his worst memories, but that'd be too good to be true. I really have no ideas on this one, it'll be interesting to see if JK ever reveals this to us! Hopefully... |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Lucy Winters First | Umm.. I'm thinking that Dudley might lose his title at school... about his bullying, or anybody finding out that he was related to a "freak" like harry. Or, it could be the same thing as Lily/Petunia, only it's him and Harry, you know? Or about the note he got from the nurse... I dunno.. |
