Agreed. She just reminds me of Lord of the Rings. She makes a good elf, lol.

Edit: I found a good picture of her, Tom Felton, and Jason Isaacs... They look like they could actually be a real family, lol... It's the pic in my avvie. It totally changed my mind about her.

I'm not sure who could play her, but not somebody who looks to sweet, i think it has to be someone who could pull off the motherly evil look!

I'm not too sure about this one, as in some ways she would be perfect for the role, in others not so... Gwyneth Paltrow (fair, resembles Draco malfoy).

In the HPB when in Spinners End, I think that she could play that part really well (emotionally looking out for her child's well being), but I don't think that she's got the whole evil thing going on.

i am sorry to say that neither one of them would look good as Narcissa Malfoy.

Narcissa Malfoy will be a hard casting job thats for sure, everybody that's been mentioned are too sweet for the role. None of them look as though they could do the motherly pure evil.

But I suppose that is what makes them good actresses, they can play evil.

The only other person I can think of is Tilda Swinton, but she's too White-witchey, don't think that she would be cast as she was too big in Narnia.

Thinking about it, there are a couple of people who may be suitable (all British so people may not have heard of them):

Samantha Morton (maybe too young)
Amanda Holden
Patsy Kensit

But, after re-reading HBP, the role might be axed as they could adapt it to fit Bellatrix. i suppose it all depends on the part that Narcissa plays in book 7.

i think that cate blanchett would definetly be good for narcissa malfoy.

This is tough. I don't know who would do a good job. Cate would be alright but I can't see her playing such a bad guy (or woman). We'll have to wait and see.

i have no clue who should play narcissa but it should be someone that should look slightly sweet but you can tell could totally be evil...and i hate to be picky but she has to have ice blue eyes also...lol..maybe toms real mom could play her...that would work..maybe

I can't really see any of the actresses mentioned as Narcissa...or any other actresses I can think of, off of the top of my head. Apart maybe from Cate Blanchett.

None of them have that 'pale blonde with porcelain skin' look about them, which I think is a very important part in the appearance of Narcissa. Almost oddly albino. Plus the resemblance to Draco.

I'm starting to think they'll have to cast an unknown or hold open auditions for this part. It really is a tricky one.

I think Cate Blanchett and Rosamund Pike would be very good playing Narcissa.... even though Cate reminds me a lot of the lord of the rings
And maybe Naomi Watts would be good...

I honestly think they should get a total unknown to play the part like the trio and other cast memebers as well.

Whoever gets the part has big expectations to fill, everyone here seems to have the same opinion on what they should look like and I'll be very disapointed if the person doesn't depict Narciss very well.

Rumours are flying around that Natasha Richardson, Jennifer Saundersand Naomi Watts have been/are being considered for the role.

All I have to say; is for the love of god, not Natasha Richardson.

As horrible as it sounds, she's just not pretty enough. And I can't see her having that sort of regal, almost aristocratic air that one presumes Narcissa would possess. She's not even a natural blonde!

*sigh* I still think Cate Blanchett would be perfect, but with her whole history with LOTR...Naomi Watts will have to do

I've got to agree with that. Usually, when they bring in an unknown, people don't have high expectations for them, but they tend to do an outstanding job. Look at Rupert Grint, he'd never been in a movie before and he was only a Harry Potter fan, but he soon proved that he was good and perfect for the role. I don't know, I think that I think that a new person would bring something for the role.

If I could have my own way, Narcissa would be played by Gwen Stefani.
She's pretty enough and she has that sort of evilish look to her. She would be the perfect Narcissa. BUT seeing as she is neither British nor an actress. I highly doubt she will play Narcissa.

I like Cate Blanchett, she'd be good for the part. Narcissa is a hard person to cast. You need to get her just right or just won't work.

Naomi Watts is probably the best choice out of the three. But, I would have to say that the idea of Gwen Stefani is an intriguing one! Well, she is married to a British guy, wonder if that might count for anything? Gwen is old enough to play the role, and I think she would be a great choice, also! Cate Blanchett is a good choice for the role, too.

Yeah, Gwen has acted before but I think the fact that she IS American and a singer will go against her. Plus, she'd have to be interested in Harry Potter and I haven't seen or heard anything to speculate that she is.
