Default Harry Potter is a typical teenager? (mildly intellectual)

Hey guys - I just thought I would some more opinions on this.

"Harry Potter is a conventional British teenager. How is this shown in Order of the Phoenix"

There are many points to make, both sides of the debate, and I am looking forward to hearing all of yours.

I believe moralistically, Harry isn't a typical (stereotypical) teen, but some moments in the film do seem to show the contrary. E.g. "your stupid mom" and "tosspot" (Ron)

Happy to hear some good points.

I definatly agree that Harry in the Order of the Phoniex is a typical teenager. Everyone goes through an age in their teens where they are all about themselves and rather act then think about the situation. Obviously the were mistakes made by Harry and the adults that led to Harry consequential actions. After everything Harry went through they should have let him know more about the Order and his role in the world. Everything seemed to go wrong in the Order because the truth was withheld. Obviously Harry wasnt a normal teenager but he did experience normal teenage angst like anger and me-against-the-world.

Hm...I don't really know much about the difference between British and American teenagers, but I'd suspect they're about the same, in terms of behavior. They tend to be selfish and self-absorbed, and feel they carry the whole world on their shoulders. This is how Harry behaves (not that he doesn't have good reason to behave the way he does in the movie), and so I'd say he is a typical teenager.
