Gotta be honest & say OotP seriously bored me! I had high exceptions that the movie did not live up to. It was very rushed and I felt a lot of the important parts were left out.

It left me with a bad memory and now I'm scared to watch HPB because I would fear it would be the same as OotP..

Snape is my best friend!

I think it was a BIG letdown because "they" made the movie extremley depressing any funny part was left out and "they" added MORE sad parts....Like when the Weasley's house was burnt down!

To be fair, OotP is the longest book in the series. They couldn't have possibly put everything into the movie.

Yes, I would say it is a bit disappointing. And I do agree with you that they should have made it longer. However, to compare it to the Lord of the Rings in terms of time is a bit hasty. LOTR is a genre movie. If you don't like the books, you won't like the movie. So it is easier to form it to a longer time frame. With Harry Potter, these movies are geared toward EVERYBODY. They are not simply genre movies, because they deal with a LOT more than just magic. There are so many parallels to real life in this movie, and it's also a movie for all ages. So it has to be dumbed down a bit for those who don't read the books.
