The way I see it, like Ron, she'll be played up for comic relief. The train, the DA scenes, The Quibbler interview, that bit before the kiss between H/C, the DoM and her talk about Sirius toward the end IMO should all be there. |

Luna's character is sort of airy and free spirited.She is sincere and though a bit zany she is trustworthy.whoever plays her has to display all of these qualities. I'm hoping for a Newbie to play the part. | |

I saw Nanny McPhee today. The oldest girl reminded me very much of Luna.
Anyway the actress is called Eliza Bennett. IMDB puts her DOB as 1993 ... though I'm not entirely convinced they're right (they got her characters name wrong ... it's Tora not Eliza!) The Nanny McPhee production notes list her as having a lot of experience (something IMDB also fails to mention) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1146916/.

I think that this actress is good. She has some thing reminds me of Luna. She needs to untie her hair and wear Luna's strange necklace. I think her hair is not too blonde or I'm blind??? But she is ok. Actually, I didn't see any movie of her. I think WB is still searching for a suitable girl in schools. I hope they find the right one but I hope that this actress could take the role. | |

Well it has to be someone new because I realy dont think that there are any British, 15year old celebrity actors. I don't really mind who plays her aslong as she plays the part well. There is a girl at my school in yr 11 and sh'e exactly how I pictured her.
I can't wait to find out though. Shouldn't be too long considering they've already found Umbridge and Anne Friel wants the part as Tonks. I hope she gets the part as Tonks, I've seen her act and she's very good. | |

I know the perfect person to play Luna. Me of course!  Well actually I really feel like I am Luna because I am exactly like her and I look exactly like her too. It's scary. Cause she is discribed in the book to have blonde hair and very light eyebrows that you can hardly see. But yeah that's me. And I am also the "weird" one in our school pretty much so I'm perfect for the part! Except I'm not British and I am so sad that I can't try out because I feel like it's my destiny to be Luna. | |

Hmm... That girl from Nanny McPhee does look Luna-like to me. What am I saying... I think she'll be brilliant as her!! I love how she looks... I think she'd be perfect.
On another note, I don't want to offend anyone but I'm getting pretty tired of ppl saying that they're blonde and blue eyes and everything and that they are totally perfect for the role but they're not British. I mean, c'mon... face it... You need to have at least British residency in order to even be accepted for an audition. For those of you who think that you're Luna-like and living in Britain, just go for it!! I mean, if you want it so badly but you're not doing anything about it then why bother even posting about your miseries... | |

I agree with you, tonks26. Besides, they have to be British. I wanted to try out, but as soon as I heard that you had to be British, my chance went down the drain. Also, it would be more fitting, obviously. I guess we'll just have to wait to see who'll be playing Luna. | |
