i heard-actually i read a rumor that they will cut Luna from the 5th movie, which is from another forum of H/G shippers, i think-but i believe it's soo false.

so who do you think will fit the role?

Those weren't ever rumours. The CBBC gave that as an EXAMPLE of the type of cut they'd have to make. Hagrid is more likely to be cut than Luna.

Dakota is FAR too young and she isn't British.

I want a newcomer. HP, when casting kids, doesn't go for already famous actors.

I really think they are better chosing a lesser known person, a newcomer as previously said. My view, I assure you, is not for personal reasons...........

I think someone unknown is going to have to play the part. I can't think of anyone who looks remotely like Luna who is already famous...except maybe the girl from the latest Peter Pan movie?

I wouldn't like her to do it. She's not done anything lately but already has a project listed for 2006 on IMDB and I think she's too OTT for Luna, who would really require a subtle acting style. The last thing we want to see is a Luna who acts like she's got a hyperactivity problem.

I think somebody new will come and play Luna. She shouldn't be cut from OOTP!

I agree with Marcella.The person playing Luna is going to have to be an extremely good actress I think as Luna is a...unknown character to a certain extent. We don't know her like we know Harry, or Ron or any of the other 'mainstream' characters.

I agree with the consensus that she should be played by someone new and that she will need to be a good actress. It's gonna be hard to capture the essense of Luna!

Now, please don't take this as a complaint because I really don't have a problem...but - I do wish that it did not always have to be a British actor. I know we don't want the films over-run with us Americans and certainly not in the starring roles - but I will point out to those who don't know that the ULTIMATE American Southern Girl (Scarlett O'Hara) was played by a Brit (Vivien Leigh) who was at that time pretty new to the screen, so I think transitions can be made!

Transistions can be made but it'd prove awkward for the British audience who can smell a fakie from a mile off. Plus, it's very rare kids can pull it off. Adults, yes, but not kids.

Besides, if it wasn't for that rule, we'd have no films. That was one of the terms and conditions to which JK signed the rights over with.

Luna won't be cut. There are some things as a director that you can't cut. I will say that maybe Hagrid's part won't be as need as the book shows it. There may be a brief part where he explains where he was and what he was doing but I will say that it is very unlikely to have him or her cut out the movie.

The title of the forum is called "Who should play Luna Lovegood" (May I add that Luna is in Ravenclaw so I rweally don't understand the Hufflepuff sigbn ... but any ways I don't know who should play her part! All I can is that we need some one who can space oput easily and some weird who would come off as weird... like the new Dumbledore :wtf: who is he and why him. We should have gotten somebody else who was more calm and not so weird and mysterious!

Also, I'd like to add that there are many movies that are run rampant with American or Canadian actors playing the parts using fake accents etc. Can we not have something authentic? In a world that is so full of bubble wrapped plastic crap... can't we have a Brit playing a Brit? Please?

thanks for the confirmation. though i really can't think of a good actress. if others were saying that she should be brilliant and a really good actress-it's like an irony if she's a newcomer. but i won't question her nationality of course. staying with the British thing is of course, accepted.

I think that chick from Peter Pan that played wendy could do it. i mean she has the physical appearance to be luna. Maybe she could try out for it.

I don't have a suggestion but I really hope they'll find one who is not that famous for anything and one would is believable - because Luna is such a fun and interesting character...!

I think the role should go to an unknown acterss, but I don't think that she HAS to be Brittish, that is if she can nail the accent.

hey! i wanna play luna but i know that's never gonna happen cuz my mom won't let me try out for the part but i don't know who they'd pick for luna...probably a new actress

She does have to be British according to the rules of casting.

also i don't like people pretending to be british, and it could be a pain flying over american or asian or german or french actors/actress' to come do a birtish part

I really think Luna should be a new actresse! It's good to give a chance to a new persone for it's talents but not for the people she knows! I think it's sick that people get to be famous because they know people in the making!

yea, an all new actress should play luna. they will do the auditions like they have before.

The haircolour really doesn´t matter, because I think Luna is the kind of person you´d expect dyeing her hair. As a matter of fact, I don´t even remember what colour was her hair in the books, but if they can have Harry with blue eyes, Luna´s hair is going to be small potatoes, even if she hadn´t got any

I dont really know hoe i think will fit the role. I hurd that Liz Hurly will play Bellatrix Lestrange. I thought they were going for an all Britsh cast!!! Its like the only movie series of its magnatude that is enturly British. Im not really sure i like Liz, But i wont be able to change anything so what can i do??
