It will be upsetting if the whole Lockhart scene isn't in the film because that is where we find out about Neville's parents. That is an important point in the books.

I doubt that Kreacher will be cut. Maybe his scenes will be shortened, but he's definitely key to Harry being caught by Umbridge, and then it'll have Harry and Hermione set Umbridge off on the centaurs. Then it will lead to the group's journey to the Ministry of Magic, and finally, the prophecy.

Although since that particular section is pretty lengthy, I think that will be cut and just have Harry and the group sneak off the grounds and summon the thestrals when Harry gets the impression that Sirius is captured and being tortured (they might change it so that Umbridge and the Inquisitorial Squad are chasing after them instead). There is a way around it, in order to get to the action more quickly. (I wonder how they're going to explain the presense of the Lestranges in OoTP, as well.)

I also have a feeling that either Hagrid's half-brother (if not central to the plot of book seven) will be cut out completely, because he and Hagrid don't have much in the way of key plot elements in OoTP. OoTP will probably see as much (if not more) stuff cut out, as there was in GoF and PoA. But I can see OoTP work as a 3 hour film. 2 and 1/2 hours won't cut it for this kind of story.

Yeah! I think the same way also. There will be no time to put every thing there. i don't think that they will care of Grawp. They will say " It's Hagrid's business"

After seeing GOF i think they may skim down Snape a bit in OOTP i really hope they dont cos he is important in OOTP adn of course HBP!

Possibly i think MRs figg as well i mean they could just have a Dursley in that bit! they wont cut the Dursleys out!

Considering this is the longest book, this will probably be the most dissapointing movie!
And, this definently is going to make go nuts becuase OOTP is my favorite book!

ok, i definitely think they will make OOTP a longer film thatn 2 1/2 hours, because otherwise, it wont do the book justice enough to make fans happy. it's got to be at least 3 hours or close to it, like 175 min. and i think it will be.
what they will cut:
they won't cut the Dursleys, because obviously that's important to the overall storyline, and i believe they'll include the trial scene. the scenes at Grimmauld Place will be shortened. like they probably won't do the doxy spraying scene.
obviously they'll introduce Luna on the train..and Harry sitting with the Neville and her.
i believe they'll keep in the thestral scene at the beginning when Harry can see them and no else can.
they wouldn't cut the whole Harry/Cho thing..are you kidding me?? they'll definitely play that up and put the whole kiss thing in and hopefully the Hogsmeade stuff that leads into the Rita interview..as she was in the 4th film, so they'll definitely put her in this one
quidditch will be shortened, they'll probably just have the first match which Harry and the twins get thrown off the team, which doesnt bother me, the other matches dont really have much importance to them anyway.
people say they're putting in Grawp which will be cool.
the ministry scenes will be shortened and made more movie-like, like they always do, but it will still be true to the book and exciting..they always do a good job with the ending sequences.
i dont know, but all i know, is this book is different from GOF, with more descriptive stuff, so they probably wont have to cut much that will be upsetting to us, and the film will be at least 3 hours so that will make me happy.

its hard to take a guess of things that will be cut because in GOF i thought it would be stupid with Winky cut out of it but it worked really well with Neville doing the job instead..

But one thing they CAN NOT cut out is the dementors at the start of the book because that would mean that Harry wouldn't be up on trial at the ministry, which will probably be the first 30 - 45 minutes of the film....but from them on i can't remeber what happens from there until they all go to the minisrty at the end of the book....

Im guessing Firenze and Lockhart and anything that ism't vital to the story plot.

I hope they do have the whole family tree thing...though I honestly don't think they will...because that's where we hear about Regulus Black, and for people like my dad who like to solve mysteries in movies before seeing the entire thing, they will want to try to figure out who RAB is when HBP comes. (Those who don't read the books, I mean) Plus, after GoF, they need more Sirius and Harry bonding or it won't be so sad when he falls through the veil, and I really want that to be perfect.

They cant cut Lockhart..that's when we find out about Neville,and the D.A. meetings are important..you know the whole Inquisatorial Squad thing,the weapon that lead them into the woods with Ms.Hem Hem in the 1st place,the centaur herd,the flight on the invisble thestrals...all of that is important!
They definetely can't cut Peeves...or any of the twins depature.
Gotta keep Ginny,Luna & Neville in as much as possible and of course Snape!

I believe that they'll cut out Firenze and hopefully introduce Peeves in this movie, cos I was fuming when he wasn't in any of the others! And I think they may cut Lockhart, just for time purposes, but we will see Neville's parents.

That won't be cut I reaallly want to see another Sirius/Snape showdown, so i'm hoping that doesn't get the chop.

i hope they shorten the start quite alot, i found that part in the book quite boring, yea the Dementor bit should be included in the film and about the Black family history that takes a fairly big role in the book altho you might not think it.
the court bit should bit short, quidditch will be like one maybe two matches if that. i dont think the Cho bit will be cut, why bother brining it up in the 4th if its not gunna happen in the 5th?
i hope they keep the DA meetings. hopefully they will keep the Snape pensieve bit in but cut the gawp bit...zzzzzzzzzz!
i dont think they'll badly cut out the department of mysteries part and i hope they dont make the DD Vold fight short.

i was quite dissapointed in how short and rushed GoF was, i myself was looking forward to seeing the quidditch world cup and i think moaned the most in the cinema when it wasnt shown!
they best not cut and rush this film!
