Please forgive me if this has been discussed before, I have tried to do a search, but nothing came up.


I see there is a casting for Luna Lovegood and a fair few mmebers here have attended auditions at school or wrote into Leavesden Studios with their particulars.

What about Tonks? Any news about the casting for this character? I've wrote to Leavesden myself and sent a brief letter and photos and SAE. Sent it away yesterday and got my fingers and toes crossed.

I think anna friel would be good and she isnt that well known (from what films ive sseen her in) only like the girlfriend of david thewlis (lupin) so i think maybe this would boost her profile abit.I think she would be good as her.

I hope they get the right person though as I love tonks she is great.

I always pictured Jane Horrocks (IMDB Profile) in the role. I think she has the ability to be sweet, plucky and melancholy.

in the book it said that tonks was ok-looking, and anna friel appears to be gorgeous.
i'm not really familiar with british actress but i'm sure they will cast an unknown for the part

ya, I think anna friel definately has a strong enough face to pull off the hair so that would be good, i sm not farmiliar with British Actresses tho

I always found it a bit ambiguous whether they would wanna cast someone well known or not. While is technically an adult, she falls into the uncommon age group of young dults, not quite up there wiht all the teahers and such, but too old for a kids part which are generally cast to not so famous people. I reckon its someone famous, just because so far the parts gone already from what Ive heard through some sources, but no word on who it is yet.

As much as I wont be suprse if Anna gets it, I reckon she's too pretty, she's way prettier than fleur, who is suppose to be the heart-throb.

If its not anna, I reckon it will be someone no one has mentioned yet

I myself dont know many British actors but I hope they choose someone that does her justice-in acting and looks. It is important that she looks young and I guess is either funny and unco or can portray that well heh Im unco

Hmm... I have seen Anna Friel act and I think she is capable of playing the part but she is a bit too pretty. but then again its amazing waht make up and costumes can do.
I just can't wait to find out who plays her because she's one of my fav characters. I've drawn pictures of her but it's really hard to draw people in detail from just your imagination.
But whoever gets the part I hope they're good.

Well It is now official that the whole 'Anna Friel playing Tonks' is a rumour.

Yeah! It was all a rumour. But I think they will find a good one. I think Jane Horrocks is OK. Some Make up and she will be Tonks.

Yeah she is a bit old. I always imagined Tonks as an energetic, still childish young woman. Plus, she is a bit clumsy so it would be more convincing if a young actress got the part!
