Hogwarts RPG Name: Daniel Sychev Fourth Year Special Ops | A bit of a let down.... Ok , the movie in itself was pretty good but i think its does the book a dis service. I mean how much did they miss out ?!? it was like the first parts of the movie were just quickly wizzing through the first however hundered pages of the book. It went from Harry been attacked by dementors , next thing you no hes on trail then within 20 mins Mr Weasley is been attack by Nagini ( which wasnt nearlly covered enough). Now i no thers people who will say things like well thers only so long you can make a movie but if the Lord Of The Rings films can be 3 hours or however long they are then why cant the HP movies be that long ?
Also what was up with the Snapes worst memory bit, No quidditch which meant no weasley is our king , no Ron and Hermoine becoming prefects and then at the end were in the book Harry smashed up Dumbledores office where was that ! it was just a quick convosation between them in the film! ... to someone who hasnt read the book then its a very good film but to us the pottermaniacs who have read the book however many times ive gotta say its dissapointing. anybody else share my views ?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jill Garza Third | I just have to say that I found it kinda shorter than I expected. I also agree with you on the parts in the beginning. They kinda rished in it.
I hope David Yates doesn't do it for the 6th...seeing as it's shorter than the 5th book. |

| The movie was good, cause it was Harry Potter.
But they missed out SOO much stuff! Its upsetting!
-No quidditch
-Nothing about Hermione and Ron bieng prefects
-Harry, Fred& George arent banned from quidditch
-Harry and Cho didnt go on their date at Hogsmeade
- Cho Didnt rat on the DA! It was her little friend Marrietta!
-We dont see Nevilles parents or Lockhart!
-NO QUIDDITCH!
-Lots of the Department of Ministry fight. Ron wasnt attacked by the brain..i was really looking foward to that!
Theres soo much more! But its too much too name!
Im soo glad I have a place to rant.lol |

Madeline Christina Grau Accidents & Catastrophes | I agree. The movie was just too short. CoS was almost a half an hour longer, and that was the shortest book! I was so mad that the DoM scene just went whizzing by, as did the pensieve scene. Neville parents, I would have liked to see but I would have been crying, they did a good job summing that up. The DoM should have been longer...no brave Neville fighting, no brians, no Hermione's brush with death... Yet somehow it is still my favorite movie |

Christopher Cross Addams Magical Creatures | i really wanted 2 see Cho and Harry on their date in Hogsmeade. in the book it was so hilarious. the way Cho was all hissy-hissy on Harry. and He was all pissy-pissy. i hope it'll b a deleted scene. *sarcasm* yeah! this is my 100th post!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Vixie Radford Fifth | The beginning of the it was quite disappointing, it doesn't show that Harry's been so icolated from everyone else! Yeah okay, he says to Ron and Hermione they should have written, but I mean it just sort of came and went, the whole point in the start is thta he's feeling totally lonely.
I was really disapointed with the pensieve scene. You don't get to see Lily, or the exam hall, or Snape all stuck in with his studies...
Another thing that annoyed me was Sirius' death, it was really right bland. In the book it doesn't actually say Bellatrix hit him with Avada Kedavra, just a red light which I guess would have been Stupefy. And there wasn't even a veil! It was just like mist or something!
Other than that I loved it |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Destini Weatherbridge First Year | It was a good movie. However, I completely agree that it went way too fast. They left out a lot of good parts. Ron always seems to get the shaft in the movies and all his parts are left off. The Quidditch stuff in the book is some of the best parts. Fred and George's exit was good but not the phenom it was in the book. I agree with the pensive stuff....I really think all the little parts in Snape's memory explain so much about him and why he loathes Harry. I wish they would put in more of the deleted things. Maybe one day they will release a big dvd of all the deleted stuff. Who knows? |

| I found the movie to be a let down. I actually, really didn't like it. It didn't show the parts of the book that I really liked. Oh well, I suppose they can't fit everything, but I was still dissappointed. I liked the book a lot better. |

| I looved the movie a lot, and I'm really happy with it! But yeah, I was sad they left out Quidditch for sure! And Harry and the twins being banned and 'Weasley is Our King'! Ugh, major major major let down! And Ron and Hermione becoming prefects would have been great! And, I can't remember for sure, so I may be wrong, but did they even ever say that Umbridge sent the dementors on Harry? And I wish they would have added the brains in the DoM! --But then again, Ron's parts always get cut... |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | okay so.
i know its been almost a year since the movie came out but i havent been on in a long time.
ok so what the....?
im sorry but this movie left out so much!
it was actually pretty good and especially all the animation and special effects and stuff but..
why did they have to leave out so much!?
quidditch, the hospital scene, ron and hermione becoming prefects, the brains, harrys and chos date, harry fred and george being banned from quidditch, winky! and the whole kitchen thing, and the pensieve thing was too quick and you dont see as much, and all harrys training with snape was cut, and harry smashing dumbledores office was cut, and dumbledore explaining things in the end was wayyy too short, and cho didnt rat out the DA! marietta did! that was most dissapointing!, and S.P.E.W.!
i mean gosh, they left out all the good stuff!
and they will prolly be mad they did.
there might be a scene they cut out that leads to something HUGE in the upcoming movies!
and it was just wayyyy too short
i still liked it, but its def not my favorite.
and i actually think this was my favorite book for some reason because ive read it the most.. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Miss Laura Black | I know, it angered me aswell. Don't get me wrong I thought the movie was awesome for what it was but in relation to the book I was disappointed, so much was missed out that I was miffted about. It was shorter than I expected and not as exciting and gripping as it should of been!
But the few added parts or partly changed parts where exellecent so I can't fault them.
Seeing as David Yates is also doing the HBP I hope it more like the books even tho loads of things have been cut out already, I just hope someone who's very faithful to the books does the final two DH movies. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: unsorted | some added parts were good, but i hated the part about Cho rating out the DA.
marietta did..
and the movie made it look like thats how they 'broke up' but thats not really how it happened.
i mean they thought up that part well, but why couldnt they just have another girl rat them out?
they didnt even have to put the valentines day date scene in there (altho i would have really loved to see that). they could have just had Harry say him and Cho were over because blah blah blah.
i have to admit the special affects were amazing!
and i loved all the locations and stuff but..
i really wanted to see everything for once. |

Seventh | Every movie from GoF on out will be a let down.
Because the books are so long, and they only have limited time for the movies.
All scenes in the book are important in my opinion, and some may seem more important then others to certain people.
But I'm sure they try to rule out which scenes will fit and create a storyline that best goes with the book, and also doesn't confuse the viewer who may not have read the books.
I didn't start reading the books until after Chamber of Secrets, and in every book it was like "They better put this in the movie!" or for the first two it was like "Why wasn't this in it? It's SO amazing!"
and so on. |
