Part of me would be interested to see...but the other hopes that I am dead and gone by then. But, maybe 25-30 years from now, who knows really.

I don't really know if I'd like to see that. I guess they will try to remake it, but I believe they will fail miserably and give up after the first movie. Probably 20 years from now, 25 tops. It just won't be the same..

Give it fifty odd years, and then it will be redone. only this time, it will hopefully stay more accurate.

I'm definitely not a big fan of the movies as a whole. But I did love the entire cast. So, I dunno. I think whoever remakes them needs to be respectful. Wait a generation or so.

It is definitely going to be redone, but I don't think it will be that soon, at least 20 years, when technology is more advanced, and they think that it would be better to change certain aspects of it. Hopefully, when they do, the cast will be just as good as the original one.

Maybe 20 or so years. Something as big as Harry Potter can't stay away long, but whether or not a remake would be a good idea is still up for speculation. Personally, I'd be willing to give any remake a try. If they do make it sooner rather than later they could probably get some of the original cast to make cameos or maybe the young actors could then play some of the older roles. That'd be a good way to bridge the two works.

One thing I've pondered for a long time is if a TV adaptation of the books would work. I.e. there would be seven seasons (one for each book) and every chapter would get its own episode. That way they could devote time to all the events in the book without worrying about time constraints like they did for the movies. A completely faithful adaptation would bring to life all the scenes and little side stories that never made it into the films. I feel like this would be an interesting route to take for a remake attempt, albeit very costly.

I've heard a lot of buzz lately about the idea for a TV series based on the books. A few years ago, I would have absolutely hated the idea. But as time has gone on, I've become more open to the idea of a remake. I think that a TV series could be quite fascinating, as there would be more time (seasons/episodes) to explore the depth of the series. It would just be so hard to see other actors portraying the characters! For me, Daniel Radcliffe will always be Harry. It would take some getting used to for sure, but I'm not completely opposed to the idea. I'd give it another 10-15 years before a remake of some sort is on the horizon.

There are already talks of developing it into a television program (possibly ordered by Netflix?), but as for more movies being made I do not see that happening for at least 25 years as you said. It is just unnecessary for the immediate future, for one they are still adding films to the same universe, and for another the 8 original films we have are pretty difficult to top unless they want to add Peeves and Winky, but would those additions really increase the value of new films?

I would absolutely LOVE to see Netflix take on Harry Potter at some point in the future. I would be so down for them to do what they did with A Series of Unfortunate Events, though obviously each year having more episodes.

As for when this could possibly happen, I do agree that it likely won't be in the near future. Though the eight Potter films ended in 2011, they are still pretty relevant and hold their own ground. Not to mention that there is the Fantastic Beasts series that is taking priority at the moment. Once Beasts is over, I'm sure more talk of it will come up.

I do not really think this would be a concern. The individual actors say nothing of how the movies would be quality wise in comparison to each other. I think the real problem is that it would just be retreading a lot of the same ground. In a new film series how much backstory would we have to go through again for the sake of coherence?

I've been warming to the idea of an animated TV reboot. If they had really high quality CGI they wouldn't sacrifice realism and could probably pull off the special effects way better. They could also ensure proper aging of the characters and not necessarily have to worry about hiring child actors.

But yeah I don't see a reboot of any sort happening til after FB5 is out, so we're looking at late '20s at the earliest.
