Hogwarts RPG Name: Carella Darkeyes First Year | Harry Potter Ultimate Editions
I was wondering if anyone had the Ultimate Editions, and if any of them are worth getting. I was thinking of getting 1 & 2 just for the additional footage added in. I think the others don't have the additional footage added in so I'm not interested in getting them right now.
Maybe I should hold out until the last HP movie comes out on blu ray/DVD?
What do you think? Ultimate editions worth getting? Should I hold out?
Thanks!

Well, decided to get the first two on sale. They have the additional footage so can't wait to get them.

I own 1-4 of the Ultimate Editions and really love them! I have 5&6 in my Amazon shopping cart, ready to be purchased. I think what makes them really awesome is the documentary each one comes with. I know the one on Music is a little boring, but it does have some funny bits (like Dan having to dunk his face in water to do a voice over for one of the scenes).
But the ones looking at the characters and the cast are all really entertaining and the little books + cards each box comes with are kind of cool, even if you only end up really looking a them when you first get it and never looking at them again, haha!

Just got my first two on blu ray. They are totally awesome because they are the extended editions of the movies. I don't think the other ones are so I think I might pass on those (plus, I think the second one has my card so all is well for me). I looked at the footage from the first one and it was so worth it to get! To see Chris Columbus's take on the films was a blast.
Thanks for the insight amandagayle. I think I might save up for the other ones later on.
It was a shame that the digital copies don't work anymore, but I really don't care. The picture quality is amazing and seeing extended in the Sorcerer's Stone..... THUD! Put your hand down you silly girl!

And don't forget, amazon is always raising and dropping the prices on them, so I'm sure they will go lower at some point and you just won't be able to resist! |

Yeah, I used to love amazon, but our stupid state decided that we needed to be taxed and we have to fill out separate tax forms just for sites like amazon.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr
WBshop actually had some good deals on them so got mine there. I watched the extras and just seeing was *thud*
Just had to watch HPSS (or HPPS for the UKers) with the extra Snape built in. Now if they did that for the GoF with the Karkaroff scene....
Sorry, where was I?

Finished watching the extras on the blu ray which were pretty cool. Loved the books that came with the set and the cards were awesome! I just wish the set itself was a bit smaller in size because they're like freakin' HUGE! Ah well.
Other than that, I am pleased with the sets. Surprised the other extras were on a dvd rather than blu ray. LOTR did the same thing (haven't bought that yet in blu ray...waiting for the price to go way down)

Only the first 2 movies have deleted scenes/extended versions of the films. The rest don't even come close. My suggestion to fans is to wait a little while after DHP2 has been released on DVD, probably around Christmas, and see what Ultimate Box Sets/Editions get put out then. Obviously, there will eventually be a 10 year anniversary Mega-Edition. Film companies need to squeeze every dollar out of any movie possible (hence, an uncalled for Smurfs 2 being planned that will likely burn the viewer's eyes to pieces.)

Doesn't the 4th film also have deleted/extended seasons? I definitely recall the "Hogwarts" song, Snape busting students out in the courtyard, and a few other scenes being included with the ultimate edition. I don't have the 5th or the 6th, so I can't say if those have extended scenes, as well (probably not), but I do really love the documentaries that come with each of the boxes. A lot of the stuff I hadn't seen or heard about until I watched them, so I still stand by that they are definitely worth the buy; especially when they are only $25, which isn't terrible for such a lovely boxed dvd.

| Does anyone happen to have a download link for the addition footage on these DVDs? I really want to see them but there is absolutely no way I can afford to buy even one of them I've been dying to see them though! |

I've got 1-6 and they are great for the documentaries, the only reason I bought them was for the documentaries.
I hope the last two come out soon! I can't wait! |

Personally, as soon as I have enough money to get them all in one shot, I'm going to get them. They just look too good to pass up to me!
